A Paragraph to write
K Brooks Oct 17
Today felt uneventful and misused,
I wish it could have been better,
I woke and cooked and theorized.
How ever I read and learned
reminding myself of what is important,
having to keep reminding myself about what is useful.
Looked up the scientific terms
for the tattoos I have behind my ears,
found some meaning in what they represent again.
The aries sign for (ovis aries) the sheep and
the taurus sign for bos taurus the 'cow' — I think therefore I believe what is meant to be always come through & usually does —
the cattle we keep and tend to,
the beings that are on this earth with us..
they are valuable and how we learn about them is
insightful, the writing on about the subject
may get boring but it's part of what my life's spirit cares for..
The sheep have me stumped  — wondering for
the image of it in what values account,
about the lamb is one of the sacred,
the young sheep which we call a lamb is signified as fragile and innocent, a hooved creature that makes a 'ba' sound
Where as the Cow, bull, cattle  — Taurus, has the impression
of something strong and well disciplined.
It's an odd thing to choose,
to have written behind my ears,
I got the tattoos years ago wondering
why I chose to have the symboled runes,
I'll remove them when I can.
Even though the answer is very simple,
may be the most important land creatures to rely on..
they seem to take over my evenings thoughts,
I think I may have saved my day.
Thinking about this kind way

Explanatory thought
K Brooks Oct 17
The 'Ye' in literature is a complex thought,
without the length of compiled letters.
The sentiment is known as You & Yours,
without the complexity of thee.

The alphabetical series of characters has value,
also read the letters K to Z.
The ones in the beginning are basic and lightening,
as those that follow explain kingdoms and 'might'.

'Ye' please just be,
I'd rather choose a truer tone.
A sound that captures every xylophone,
so every note can be sung along.
For music.. a muse

Down in the valley
K Brooks Sep 28
The stream of ever-grass grows,
unknown to the smallest creatures
the vixens and the rabbits visit some,
whenever the world stops turning 'round
the youthful days grow long and age,
my mirth and carefree wrinkles stay the same
K Brooks Sep 28
May you read leisurely by each handful of written speech,
to understand the lyrical sound of a classic joyst phrase.
Explaining that felt familiar.
K Brooks Sep 28
there's a spirit that stays with me
two entirely and I remember
when there was a different memory
I could not dwell on or it hurts my heart
I know not to draw on those few moments too much

for a thousand years or more there's life this being
comes and goes the promise of more is saddening

there's a love that is there and it's almost as if
my fingertips could brush the dust of years forgotten
a case of amnesia, a mind of jumbled up phrases
the kindness of a smile, the silence of the night
the chance to know more about every day of my life

to live on and on
to save and protect
to write and re-write

... I ask for simply the truth.
A quiet prayer // to my beloved // complicated life.

Earlobes
K Brooks Sep 24
The bottom of your ear
does it connect or not?
There's a saying somewhere
it says that it doesn't matter
I think it's connected
thinking about my earlobes and genetics

Felt the wind blow

campgrounds and staying afloat

Different from the long time rest

                      Only for casting right ..

Fabrics of life
K Brooks Aug 2020
The woven way a story is told
A calm before the storm
Or a bright light on a Warm walk, little is known to rush forlorn
Evening breaks the width of a stick

But a flow of a shirt or hem or line
Brings forth the underwing of a blossoms site, more than what the iris can hold

But little to what the eye can see
Nuisance in delight and for longing in the pattern of the way it falls or rests in the same instance as the other
Never too floral or too faint

But in the right substance more than you know
Ever bending just in time to show what you care for and what you don’t fully see

Whatever is most felt by the hand or the cheek and less than what a mind can read
For the feeling of it is what matters
, to the moss on the ground

Points in Time
K Brooks Aug 2020
When you're lying down to try to rest
When the world seems the same but strange
It goes in circles for a time
When the most had waves of stress
Less of fire or fury

Winds of the crickets resound the laughter but quiet the heart to a way of life that feels grander than the normal strife

Quickly we go over to a different side
Quietly we feel the same
Lively we stand for strength and
Lonely we rest for ease.

We weren't born from
an estranged time
we were born with
our hearts and our pride
we do not stuff out flames
but rise for protection
we were not mind washed
in school but taught to listen
we do not use for our
own understanding but for humane

We are more than lines
and borders or boundaries, connected
we are united as a cause
to stay together in peace
we are here
we are hope
we are home.

Please & Maybe
K Brooks Jun 2020
We just wanna stay where we are
normally functioning
unwistfully listening
Level willed to the earth

Ladders incompletely climbing
in front of stairs that seem
impossible to walk on, sometimes
This tundras just in our minds

We seal the deal
underneath wandering times
not invoking questioning ones
Simply staying in a room

In a group homeliness is tired to find
work in short hours of the day
in the long late ones of the night
we'll stay crisp in the trying times

underneath the lines that others
pronounce towards each other
we do not want to bander
instead we try to work together

On coure;

Stranger than a Stranger
K Brooks Oct 2019
I've been living with you my whole life
A silent killer
A nameless lore
You seem to know me,
but I ignore.

It's your creeping way
A shadow I can not shake
Supposed to keep the demons at bay,
instead you invite them in and wait.

I weep with out reason
Rhyming with the seasons
On and on and on
depression, you heathen.
Feeling a little lower than usual these days.

The Thing You Love Most
K Brooks Oct 2019
A mystery
Never distinct
Maybe it's history
Or a memory, think

Can it be love?
The unruly kind
That leaves your heart
Not knowing what is right

Something hard and hurtful
To balance it's purest form?
Unfair and lustful
It leaves your innocence torn.

Ghost Mornings

maybe, those don't define your every move, you believed.

You wake in the hours before light

For You
K Brooks Oct 2019
What do the inklings mean?

The small whispers:
That stay in the air,
Move with the breeze.

Where do they come from?
What do they mean?

I fell, we see, I'm for you.
What do they mean?

The small inklings...
I go to this support group, I think it helps. It shows me that there are others who  think the same way I do and that have the same thought processes. Don't feel so  alone.

Here and Now
K Brooks Jul 2019
In now we seek
a loving sound
to breathe in
the louder crowd

Careful step

universal love
for gone, is too proud

A small bundle
do not prowl
for you shall mark
a beautiful scowl

In madness seems
a cruel tone
so we say
you're sweet and cold

Waterfalls Trail
K Brooks Mar 2019
You must climb down
to really see the beauty
of the hidden wonder

in that town
just a kiss
from the canyon

holds the most majestic
Aqua-filled fall
of streaming water

you shrink when you see it
incapable, small
to the grandiosity

a place where water flows
a place so normal
and yet begs to not be seen

In the bottom of the canyon
lies a dream of an aquamarine

the lost love of the sea.
