Into the evening dusk
The steady beat of the trumpets ring about
Next time
As I gaze up upon the stars
I'll wish for you
While they hurry down from the sky

Though, I know
You'll never be mine.
An ode to the one who I know will never see me as more than a friend.

Somewhere across the stars,
Racing in the night,
I saw your face as it beamed back at me,
Rolling upon the hills so high.
We'll take flight someday,
As we soar through the fields of butterflies,
A song dancing in the night,
While watching the stardust in your eyes.
Something about the way you smile,
When the mountains tumble by your window.
It's you and me forever
This frosty midnight.

Somehow, the song always reminds me of us.
As teenagers lost in a sea of stars,
We plummeted so far.
Crashing through the air.

Our hearts burning in kindle fire.
Waves couldn't ruin the flare.
Abandoned in the frozen twilight,
I would think of you as I gazed above.

When the memories come back,
It's all us and what we make it.
Our dreams of being astronauts,
While sailing a spaceship away from here.
Let's run away, let's go and waste another year
Let's spin apart while racing through the atmosphere
We tumble through the night, we burn so bright
We're teenage satellites

We were kids then
racing far and wide
Our imagination captured the moon
Chasing stars like fireflies

We held our pinkies
As we watched the meteor shower that eventide
Counting down the days
Till the constellations caught our eyes

We were kids then
loving a day as if forever
The universe had no chance
Against our star-crossed, endless kiss

We were kids
Connecting the galaxies into place
But now we're older
And the puzzles in the sky don't stand a chance

They watched each other’s footprints tremble against an entangled bliss, captured in fond devotion of those they wished to miss. The sirens rang but they whose hearts crumbled down their walls. Different lengths as the story did sing. Their melody’s patching from the grasp in the moonlit dawn.
Nothing as though sang the same, as their fervor drew them at the closest reach. A notice so unseen, depth by emotions too far to be unscathed.
Unnoticeable, as they, farther and farther as the weakening sun.
Broken hearts waiting for them, but mended into one.

missing you
will be hard
but finding you again
is worth forever

I didn't hear what you said
But that smile
That smile makes it so easy for me
To drown in a feeling never to come true
