"ruination" poems
Forlorn sheets fluttering in the winds splattered in smoke and ruination, empty the streets where she'd played lost: Haunting her now among shadows in the cell she's chained to slavery of the religious kind. Beast more than beast these men that stare in hubris awaiting their turn to partake of infidel flesh. Behold! The holy empire of God is here. That morning she'd grown up - blood between her thighs had stopped her play, and her chastity was proclaimed. Selima must learn to respect men and the ways of God and His rules of modesty. Now, as he grunts and groans in holy pleasure as he mounts her by turns, tied up at the altar to be an example of how ****** the lot of the pagan and faithless be. Mother, is this the modesty that God commands of infidel women? How merciful indeed is He that He creates in faithful men a beastly craving and provides too for them uncircumcised ***** in pillage.

Muck bit her ivory nightgown, as if earth hungering after her...the delicate collapse of a napkin, she. Hours poured atop her head, her shaggy, silvery mane suspended--its reluctant bounce captured at midpoint...as a spiderweb under ultraviolet light. Desert sands lost in contemplation, reminiscent of her flesh--divulge her core as she sleeps in a fetal position. Her body spasms awkwardly...its will visibly slowed from initial motion. As the paralysis experienced by prey amid the astral annals of nightmares. She'll rise into that shine, wonder at the nightmare's symbology...talk to her garden--whilst thinking of her time to come. Silkworm breached the parcel of time, its cocooned inertia coarsed through the opalescent eye of God to Godhood. Of time's ruination redeemed in a solitary work...cupped airless the unbridled form of a trapezist spent itself. Opened and closed somersaults atripped a piece of said space... nothingness regenerated to move, to take step of itself. A self-argumentative abstraction glowed...undid its silken flag-- firmly planted in an undiscovered region...her time come.

Muck Bit Her Ivory Nightgown
In the pale of your shadows In the absence of your light reckless words left unspoken lead fingertips to undress under the crescent moon and the awakenings of night. In memory of your passing In the kudos of your heart abstinence of time left to falter the clutches of desire and the tears of regret that sees two loves apart. In the starlight of your beauty In the creativity of your life In another world and the sliding of doors to here I can but imagine possibility without the ruination of reality and the fear of unbridled strife.

A Muse for all Seasons
See the dancers gyrating Sliding over the pole Lustful men leering Eager to hunger, watching Private dance for the few Parting with crumbled money Sweating in craving desires For what they can never touch But I silently see the movement Of an ****** motion of beauty I see the eyes of unknown passion Something that can not be mine Even through my scars of ruination They ****** for printed paper Money is no longer a commodity Only to witness serenity in motion

Serenity In Motion
[begin transmission] Little mean marble, the grasshopper lies heavy, riding storms and trailing winds, eating dystopia right out of the box suns and daughters of the cataclysm sit about a space cadet's campfire, hints of alien sand in their voices it so oddly resembles vast outland libretto, that breathe of menace, inside sojourners holding tickets to ride tramlines on shuttle days swarming with Walter Mitty groupies and econowives, transporting **** rapture, and/or reproduction to worlds of public domain one day we'll settle here, one day, with bowed heads, we'll kiss the splendor of its red ruination [end transmission]

Return to Homs
The bird has flown far far from home where none will ever find her; she left behest a vacant nest, and crumbs as a reminder of all the things her mighty wings have borne of her creation, and now she's gone to fly anon and left a ruination Far far from home the bird has flown and time is ever fleeting, a vacant nest she left behest in silence of her beating her mighty wings; of all the things, she knows the sheer elation to fly anon, and now she's gone to seek her own salvation

Far From Home
I think we're going extinct I hate to even blink  ... I remember when we were in sync  But things changed  We will act strange over change  Being caged and attached by chains is voguish  Are we hopeless?  Why can we polish our pinky rings  But leave rust on our linkage chains?  Our words don't bond anymore  Our words are shackles  Our words are like crooked spurs  And unbalanced saddles  Yeah It travels  But lies are to be told  Only to smear what we really withhold  I think that we're going extinct  I hate to blink  As my eye lids flicker  More and more existence spills from our mankind  Man-kind  We're turning into the kind of men  Who emotionally melts when we see celebrities  Where's our rectitude?  I think we're going extinct  I hate to blink Where's my natural woman? Every time I twitch  More and more she accepts the word *****  And in no time a guy can become exposed to her hips  Where's our morality?  Are we going to expire  All because we create our entire empire with desires?  Desires and thirst that require us to hurt  We smile and we smirk  We loath from good work  We poke at nerves We drown our minds to swerve  We absorb potion  Only to tranquil our motion  We indulge in copulation  With a stranger  But somehow for consolation  ... We are endangered  We are a few more trends away from complete annihilation  Eradication  Liquidation  Obliteration  Cancellation  Our tendencies are cancerous and if we keep being patient  We will need medication  I don't feel any radiation  To not become subject to our decimation I think we're going extinct  My instincts tell me that Though we're a percentage and a contributor to this nation  We are approaching ruination  My instinct senses that I am one of the few who mentions devastation  And if I blink one more time  And if we keep wasting time  We'll be wastage  We  You and I  We'll be ejected from the race  And they'll use a prosthetic ethnic affiliation for our replacement  Can we come together with cooperation  Resisting this operation  May we all stand up  Before they go through with this amputation !  Blink Lets see

I have finally found my talent. I ruin things. I ruin our days, our life With my inept ways, My frustration, my dumb rants. I ruin your organised mind And your practical intentions. I ruin the weather, the mood, I ruin your lovingly cooked food. I am the Chelsea Football Club of everything. Maybe that’s why they’re my team. Ruining things whether I win or lose. Ruination is my talent.

(descent) Hindered by progress, or the idea of progress: evolution-in-waiting bellows me to hide, tattering becomes ruination. Animism creeps, not-yet hands pushing at dim velvet. Peeping one-eyed through the past where had borne such potent promise immutability lain intact flumped into snowy thickness and thrown hard against Georgian glass. Here comes the stealth of unillumination thankfully blanketing they were tied at the hips and neck, then wrapped as old mirrors. That door went nowhere it always does those Victorians, forever meddling, will folly themselves into any trouble. (resurrection) You haven’t changed one bit! I say to myself, showing you their brand new niceness ***** as copper pans. Go on, spit in my fire the hiss is the thing that’s real.

Bring me back a ruin
The hollow truth carried on the wind Budding asphodels wilted upon the pyre of paradise Erst the rusted gates of Heaven Deleing corrupt realm deliverance salting The rivers of Eden, Ananta, contemner of dawn Stealing Levannah breaking Sol. Without brethren kith, treading the tide Of redemption thitherto A tear in the fabric of the universe Another drop in the ocean aflame So that that fire humanity could be set Broken vessels as like sunken ships Eclipsing their own elan; Fraying equilibrium averred officers of Hell No more angels standing yet ranked still In offices most high despairing Purities ruination conjunctively As with the same stride sought in Pitched battle- touchable caste Derelict of kin. The Shroud of Wistfulness
We gathered our water and packs at daybreak to hike hand in hand toward the distant ruin— a tall stone chimney planted on otherwise empty acreage, a kudzu-covered tower, the ghost of a farmhouse now a home to field mice, black beetles and bats, with bricks the color of weathered blood, vertebrae stacked a century and a half ago by a stonemason’s craft, still solid and bonded despite the slow decay of arthritic mortar. How long have we walked together? The morning is all we have left to ponder. We walk for hours; the chimney grows larger at our approach. I want to ask you a question about the night we met, what you said just before I held you for the first time, but then I catch sight of my hand and realize I am walking alone, moving inexorably toward a ruination of my own making. How could I have been so careless? Unable to stop, every step strips something away: my hair thins and falls, as white and weak as sickled wiregrass; another step and my body atomizes into the stuff of stars, pollen scattered on a rising wind. So this is what it feels like to decay. By the time I reach the ruin I am mostly cinder and ash, a sorry vestige sown in a quiet field, a forgotten landmark that strangers will visit, if only to contemplate how the evening fog spindles like smoke along the enduring column of my spine.

Another Ruin
I'd just fixed the echo of tears that                 grazed within me. Then coalescing before me,                             you smiled,                                 it was a hit & run. Thrown back in ruination as my emotions bled. You never even checked, you just proceeded, and I again                   was a broken seashell.

Stumbling around, Not getting anywhere. Lost in despair, Lost in grief. Stumbling in circles, Not waking up from my dream. Lost in my thoughts, Lost in the past. Stumbling to helpless, Not able to heal my heart. Lost in emotions, Lost in anguish. Stumbling to nowhere, Not knowing how to rise up. Lost in my sorrow, Lost in my guilt. Stumbling to bitter, Not knowing what to do next. Lost in the ******** Lost in the anger. Stumbling to decline, Not knowing how to break free. Lost in confusion, Lost in delusion. Stumbling to distress, Not knowing why I love you. Lost with the demons, Lost in the quagmire. Stumbling to nothing, Not knowing true devotion. Lost in my torment, Lost in the nonsense. Stumbling to disorder, Not knowing how to fight back. Lost in the chaos, Lost in the fury. Stumbling to agony, Not knowing how to change course. Lost in a big mess, Lost in silent wounds. Stumbling to destruction, Not knowing how to stand tall. Lost in seclusion, Lost in disillusion. Stumbling to extinction, Not caringwhere I end up. Lost in devastation, Lost in ruination. Wake up, wake up, Stand up, stand up, Grow up, grow up, Rise up, rise up, Fight back, fight back, Strike back, strike back, Soar now, soar now. Close the door… Break free.

This is the hidden man of the heart why are you plagued with self doubt or self loathing or you feel like a world class phony you picked up the hammer and chisel but distraction or higher self interest caused you to rush away now you feel dismay friend the artist in you will not be satisfied with half measures shoddy work are you forgetting you will go to the still bathing light his royal personage will speak nothing you alone will pass the vote to condemn such failure I took the material that possessed endless possibilities of perfection and I through disrespect to my own higher good over a life time I measured and weighed values that cannot be trifled with would I give unreliable information to family and friends knowing it could harm or lead them to ruination no but to yourself you foolishly barter indescribable beauty for rot and waste even in song they have spoken He gave me beauty for ashes. Will you conquer bad habits and the lair in the natural mirror? Turn to the unblemished the true and only master who gives direction in the most dangerous and beguiling circumstances never wavering only the true picture does he draw from these unquestionable lines provide inspiration and heady waves of joy from satisfaction in knowing the progress is real it will stand the acid test you can be duplicated in others they will reverence your integrity as they see it growing in themselves. As I wrote this footsteps upon the footsteps fell, I ushered words to my little ones that it was past the ruination of dreams if there heads had not headed the times of slumber as night is for sleep not running around. But footsteps inevitably fell once again. Anger feel upon a fathers brow as words now ignored where sleeping head should have fell. With tired eyes and the voice, you know the one that tell those of younger age daddy means business. And then there was silence once again. But eyes whispered unto the realms of dream to be once again woken by footsteps playing upon the stairs waking others namely me from my needed dreams. I glanced upon the stairs to see. Without a murmur I glanced in rooms, and unattended my first born where they were in slumber so silent I could only just hear the faint whispers of breath as they did sleep. then in darkness the footsteps louder than believed. I awoke in the morning on the top of the stairs, a bruised rendition of a child's footprint upon my skin bruised and hollow. My daughter said in a mulled voice that the child didn't like you watching it in darkness run. I write this as a father who now has shivers as I write this piece that the footsteps are within my room, My wife sleeps my children do, but the footsteps don't seem so innocent now, and I am not going to look behind me

I Hear Footsteps On The Stairs
In the sea of dawn where all do well, the calm of his people has broken. Once-coddled infants, wrapped in shades, compose the cobble trail beneath their frantic gait. Ruination of palatial temples. Debauchery of the sage who is misshapen, misspoken. The serpentine begets dear tempest in steeplechase of sate. The incalculable herd of vermin across the earth cascade. Eyeless they stream, dripping roses, wont to asylum. Demented, as each ivory beam shatters. They fall like infants beneath this mad promenade.

Leviathan
In 2008, I lay upon the floor,   disabled, pain hobbled, my back unable to properly space the Lego discs that keep a man upright king and absolute ruler, was I of the carpet. in the little blue room off the kitchen, where solace in loneliness, was my little heaven in hell. It was my blue period, When you decided to leave And try to take everything But hang around our apartment to practice, practice making misery your profession. It was the same little blue room, years before I ran to, for a few hours rest after tending to you, nursing your cancer needs, fetching, most fetching, I fetched and fluffed, shopped and tended, and comforted, after working all day. Now three years on, on the floor of the same little blue room, unable to move, weakly, wounded, brokebacked, I was a soldier, in a deep trench, almost paralyzed, caught tween desk and bed called your name, even though there was nothing you could have done. Role reversal, years later, roll reversal, roll from the bed to the floor, fallen, immobilized, I rued the morning light, for men must work and women must weep, work and weep, this morning, I was responsible for both. I called you name repeatedly, in a peculiar voice, agreed, the voice of wrack and ruination, after hearing you slippers shuffle a two step at 2 Am, outside the little blue room, oh for many a minute, in the middle of the night, calling, calling perhaps, you would help me to rise, oh yes, just to help me stand, on my bent back, my own legs Somehow one finds a way, is it not always that way? Later, I asked. Did you hear me call you name in the middle of the night? Oh yes. But your voice sounded so weird, I would not go in. Years later, I asked again. Just get over it, you replied, matter of factly. Today, years later, I ask again, right now, right here, I ask but a different question. Do you think I am over it now? Oct 15th 2011

Something Bad Something bad is coming Worse than any Grand Funk Railroad Reunion Concert Worse than watching a full episode of Meet the Kardashians With all commercials included. I not only have read about it I can feel it So much more bothersome than Hay fever in May. It's the Universal Fender ****** Havoc beyond compare It's Universal Affliction and Ruination Heavy weight and high-profile kind of stuff. This universe is dumb So much stupider than the armadillos that get hit by my little Fiat This universe is worse than any teen age driver Not watching where it goes Or what is coming down the road. Ten to the ten to the ten to the ten and more universes out there Outnumbering all the cable channels both regular and High Def More numerous than all the cockroaches in all the cities on the East Coast Going any which way they please Not planning ahead Or working with the AAA or the highway safety department More universes than every single observation ever made by every single person More than every single argument between all the married couples In all countries On all existing planets In all existing galaxies. Each time you think of a possible universe, it exists! Unless we all stop thinking there will be more and more and more. Each universe moving Some fast Some even faster Some inches apart from each other Concealed behind some hidden dimension About to turn the corner at full speed. There's a collision A crash Not too far up the road Every universe distracted As if they are texting away Following their own set of laws Without regard for any right of way. There's a smash-up coming up very soon One universe piles into another with one of those universes being ours in particular The one that I live in. I am scared I know that adding a shoulder harness to my office chair is not going to be enough. I am terrified I cannot figure out as I make my last will and testament who I can leave the house and dog to. Today, tomorrow or maybe later It is sure to happen All my plans for no purpose All my purposes to no point I panic Abandoning all my activities Crawling into the attic Taking a pen A flashlight And a notebook And wondering If there is any new thought I can have that might make this all better Without creating One more **** reckless Out-of-control universe. --Zumwalt (2011) (copied from www.zumpoems.com)
