A sailor and an artist
Ezzah Saleem Jan 2018
A sailor and an artist on boat.
They fell for each other in the middle of the oceans, under the sky.
Directions lost and silence felt,
The sailor kept moving,
The artist kept painting,
The sailor watched the lanterns rise in sky
The artist then painted the scene on the canvas.
For nothing more mattered to them
Then time and place they met,
The heavenly love created a beautiful memory of that of them,
That could not be erased.
A love without letters and flowers.
A journey of memories, that would be with them always and forever.
That is how a sailor and an artist met.

A women's trust
Ezzah Saleem Jan 2019
A women's trust is similar to a flower.
Her very soft heart is like petals,
If you break it, she will lose her trust in you,
and just as you can't put a flowers petal back,
you can never get her to trust you.

Her identity
Ezzah Saleem Dec 2017
Her eyes were cold,
Her lips were pale,
Her heart was frozen,
Her smile was broken,
Her soul was empty,
Her face was spotted with regrets and pain,
Her mind was possessed by some unknown powers,
Her emotions were burried when she was a young girl,
She was a peacock in a cage,
Beautiful but locked.
She had no words and no voice
For silence ruled her.
Her memory was her enemy
For it left her alone everytime.
Her fears? They were uncountable, infinty.
Her thoughts? They would haunt her.
Her dreams? They failed.
Her people? They ditched.
She was a dead flower,
No color, no fragrance,
Only thorns attached
And petals crushed.
That was her identity.

Hopes in times of goodbyes
Ezzah Saleem Jul 2018
Some are too good at goodbyes,
A couple of letters,
A couple of confessions,
Some words like " I'll miss you"
Some like "we'll meet soon"
Some photos with moments stuck in them,
Some times that have gone so far
You don't hope you'll be able to see a thing like that,
But you still hold your head up,
You pretend you are brave,
Brave enough to say a seven letter word 'goodbye'.

It doesn't seem so big,
Yet means something you know you won't be able to bear,
But you keep a heavy stone on your heart and you say it,
You feel it but don't exactly realize,
That your paths have been separated
And the time is gone,
Even though you'll see sun everyday
You will still feel cold
Like that cool wind and blues that winter bring and blows,
Or those cold winds that follows rain,
Or that touch that autumn brings,
With that de trop sadness,
After all, all we need is something to hope for,
To put our hearts into,
Our blood to run though them,
But dont forget the most deserving gets the most undeserved,
They will have to live with or without hopes,
In this hollow, cold, dark world.

A poet hidden in a singer.
Ezzah Saleem Feb 2018
A poet hidden in a singer,
A singer hidden in a poet,
Under the grey skies,
On a land of snow,
Her lamp almost burned,
She wrote,
She was a poet,
But she sang too,
She sang her melancholic pieces of poetry, carved on wood,
She sang lullabies with her words, on torn ***** papers,
On a broken seat, with a dusty piano,
She bagan to play with the waves of notes, pushing her tired fingers, against the keys.
Afraid she was because she thought she was imperfect,
But some imperfections are beautiful and wonderful, she did not know that.
Her pain gave her words birth,
Her fears raised her words,
Her regrets made her sing,
Her beautifully written  poetry,
Not too strong, and not to powerful,
With a little voice, with a little hope,
A girl who was afraid to speak,
The one who was afriad of herself,
Invaded the universe.
With her unheard voice,
With those unspoken words.
An unexplained series began,
When her shaky voice sang her old lost lullabies,
And her soul lifted her voice up,
Her body still shaking.
But not quitting,
She wrote and wrote and sang and sang.
On sunsets, on oceans, on skies , on rain,
She wrote her heart out by singing with her soul.
No one has to be perfect. We have so much inside us that we don't know. Maybe because we are too aftaid.

What is most saddening?
When they think they are joking,
That sarcasm goes pretty well,
The world laughs,
But to you it's a stab,

Or when they say you "thank you",
But you smile and say "it's okay",
But they leave in a blink of an eye,
You don't only feel replaced,
But they make you feel invisible,

Or when they walk beside you,
Like you never knew them,
Like you were no one,
Like things never happened,

Or when they approach you,
You feel they need you,
You feel you should be there,
So you stand with them,
Until the end,
But it wasn't because they needed you,
It was because of their own reason,
They needed only thing they were looking for,
Or when they call you useful ,
Or when they call you useless,
Because you were not enough for them,

Or when they call you a friend,
But behind is their other reason
Or another face,
That you are too scared to see,

Or when they call you worthless,
Or when they call you heartless,
Without knowing how you lost your heart,
When you did and why you did,
But you and only know the truth.

My eyes
Ezzah Saleem Dec 2017
My eyes are my messengers,
For they speak my words.

They hide dark secrets in them too,
For they don’t trust anyone.

They are deeper than the sea,
They are the mirror of my soul.

My eyes are my messengers,
They are the doorway to my heart.

When my sadness creeps over,
They cry a river.

They help me count stars,
They help me fly oceans.

My eyes are the best part of me
Not because how they look but because how they see
'They are the mirror of my soul' and 'they are the doorway to my heart' are the lines that are made by me from a quote I loved. I did not know it was a quote as before my mom told me the same things in a different language. "Not because how they look but because how they see" was a quote too that i really liked and so i decided to put it in there as it was very true. Hope you like it!

She did not know her own name.
All she did was,
A bruised soul from their hurt,
A dead heart from them,
Empty eyes for them,
A body swelled from their abuse,
Her lips bleeding,
But all she wants is them,
And all she says is that she will wait forever,
Her tired mind that wants to sleep,
But then she calls herself a strong women.

I have had enough,
My fears surround me like when dark clouds surround the sky in storms.
My silence is louder than the thunder,
Yet it is unheard.
Thousand times I broke,
I broke into the pieces of glass that slips out of your hands in shock.
Pain made me cold,
Thoughts made me vulnerable,
I am too scared of living,
Afraid of loosing more,
And tired of trying to escape.
The more I try to go far away from here,
The more it holds me,
I feel like I am stuck in whirlpool,
I am trying to get out but it won't let me.
I have had enough.

Rain
Ezzah Saleem Mar 2018
You were like rain,
I stood inside, by a glass window,
I watched you touch the glass.
And it looked most beautiful thing to me.
As my fingers climed to it too,
I realized there was a sheild,
And I kept watching you,
And I kept breathing in its petrichor,
Then I perceived that we were near but were not together.
I did convince my heart to go out and get wet, but it told me it was scared to fall again and tear apart.
And once again, I smiled upon the rains, for I could feel you by my side somehow,
Though it made me feel shattered a little bit inside, for I suffered the feeling of the distance everytime it rained.
You were like a sad rain.

So weirdly unknown to me
Ezzah Saleem Feb 2019
So weirdly unknown to me
how my soul  becomes the strongest
part of me
while my heart grew the weakest of all
I asks why to myself billions of time
who's responsible when the heart and soul
are untouched, unrevealed

Sea

Sea
When your words become your punishment,
When your fate becomes your weakness,
When your heart wants to cry,
But your eyes doesn’t let you,
You feel like you are drowning,
You feel like you are dying,
But actually you are in a deep and dark sea of strangers,
Where people don’t care,
And where your own people can betray you,
It’s horrifying and terrifying,
It’s like a bunch of people who were in your heart,
Chained you and threw you in the sea of sorrows,
Where you would survive without breathing,
Where all you would have will be memories,
Your heart might beat, your mind might think,
But your soul will be gone forever,
And your eyes will lose sight,
You will go deeper and deeper,
And you will find a place,
A place without noise,
A place without fights,
A site full of peace,
A site full of silence and quietness.

Sometimes
For making people strong
We make them weak
To make them stand alone bravely
We make them wait hopelessly
For making them independent
We make them a kind of person
Who wouldn't ask for help
Even if they are so injured from the  storm
That they still believe they can run

My empire is dark
Ezzah Saleem Feb 2019
You were a lantern
As you flew at night
wanting freedom
I couldn't help but
let go
I stared at you standing on my ship
And to this day, I am waiting for you
My empire is dark
My kingdom is empty
because the strongest light
was taken away by the sky
And now the castle stands abandoned
while I unknown and unloved
still holding on to you
isolated in this ship
that travel in this tremendous sea
hoping closed eyes it would take
somewhere you are.....

— The End —
