I disobeyed my parents
And married her when I was younger

She seemed so shy and caring
but then she felt colder

She used to respect my space
but then she sat on my shoulder

She used to not criticize me
but  she eventually became bolder

I want to turn back time
And find someone else before I grow older.
------------------------
She put her dreams aside
And married me when I was younger

And when times were tough
I understood why she had to be colder

When I needed her
She was always on my shoulder

I was never that daring
So she turned bolder

I learned to love her
And appreciate her as I grew older.
Two sided views of one marriage and how one person interprets it. I wanted to give them a happy ending for once.

here is now
 to what the
            heck?

         jump out of this year
         with that old joint attitude
         and leave a mark
like it's too hot for me.

                  so quickly
                  that burden ate.
                   loved the way
                   he operates.

                      won't let us help.
                        needed it.
                        sounded good.

              man, what's wrong with less?

let's meet up again sometime soon.
           after a few more questions.
           let's meetup somewhere
                    between
                         two am
                                  and
                                   here.

I watched them
they were awkward at first
but finally they connected
for a time
and neither of them
seemed to notice the climb
nor did they seem to be aware
of falling into a rapid decline--
perhaps the idea was simply to be;
he was who he was
and she was just simply She.
I saw it happen
and will attest in court
that these two were indeed meant to be--
if they need a witness--
I hope they'll call on me.
idk, just people watching of late...

in my zone
the morning is singing
it sounds like two of us
but i woke up alone
...
so i'll be reciting peace
and writing hope
it sounds like two of us
but i walk home alone
...
gets me smiling
to everybody...
it sounds like two of us
but i'm lonely inside
Two
Two people can be great
But just not always with each other

On Sunday he pressed his lips against my throat
in a joking sort of kiss
all waggled brows and hidden giggles
and I said "oh my god what are you doing"
and we dissolved into snickering

And on Wednesday me and he sat
and watched TV and played horror games
all terror and smiles and fond glances
and I said "it's your turn don't roll your eyes at me"
and I forgot my responsibilities when he did it anyway

On Sunday we shared a glance over breakfast snacks
and danced on stage and talked around him
all raised brows and aching cheeks
and I said "we'd have cute kids your hair, my everything else"
and I don't remember what his face was, from the ground

And on Wednesday, he laid on my couch
and I sat in my armchair
all relaxation and easy conversation
and he said "wait, are you really going to marry him?"
and I don't remember answering

And on Sunday we raised our eyes to heaven
and sang songs to the God my mother loves
all easy grace and accidental harmonies
and I thought "why would I marry him I love you"
and I sat alone

Days passed by so fast
Overt feelings of hate towards my past
To avoid sadness and fulfill my happy jar
Another day won't be spent to play the game

Thus, I feel so free
Wounds healed slowly and thoroughly
O**pening my heart when I am fixed
Reasons not to play Dota 2
Is you

Stiletto heels and a push-up bra,
Hair piled high, bleached and toned and all…
That’s the way you used to shuffle around,
But you ain’t been much since your man went to town.

Who’s that a’ worrin’ bout them wrinkles and lines?
Is that the same broad who fell for all his lines?
Well, since he left you all you do is frown.
No, you ain’t done much since your man went to town.

You could’a picked a man who would’a cherished you
Once upon a time when love was fresh and new,
But you picked the one who was known all around.
Now,  you ain’t known much since your man went to town.

(Interlude)

You could’a picked a man who would’a cherished you
Once upon a time when love was fresh and new,
But you picked the one who was known all around.
Now, you ain’t been much since your man went to town.

Whatcha gonna do when the rage runs high,
When the last tear falls cause the well has dried?
Whatcha gonna do when the sun goes down,
Cause you ain't slept much since your man went to town.

What’cha gotta to do to make it right
Is take your piece out of your purse, it’s a Saturday night.
What’cha gotta do is shoot him down,
‘Cause you cry too much since your man went to town.
Please, do not use me work to buy, sell, trade or findraise for this or any other site. I posted an early draft of these song lyrics and was pleased at how well recieved it was. Shortly before I put it on this site I added a stanza before the finale in the second verse, then turned it over to my music partner to work with. Then the computer my work was on crashed. I had not backed up the files. I wanted the lyrics up on hellopoetry because I had just discovered the site, so I gave you the earlier draft that I had. Earlier tonight, while visiting my partner's home studio, I remembered to grab the copies of this, and some other songs he is working on for me. I think the additional stanza adds increase to the momentum of the story this peace is telling. For me, it is the emotional clamax in this version, and the final stanza, though descriptive of an extreme action, becomes the denumont. There is also a new balance of  the architecture in respect to the eveness of stanzas in both verses. (At times, I tend to put great emphasis on the importance of song structure. I have ever since I realized how important structure is to a song.)
I hope you enjoy it.

I'd put on such a strong face when I would be out with everyone else
but in reality I was just like a cracked glass
But do you know what happens to cracked glass
when it gets put under pressure?
It breaks
and I know one day I'm going to break
till I don't live to see tomorrow
It's only a matter of time before everything comes crashing down
