"the
smart
way
to keep
people
passive
and
obedient
is to
strictly limit
the spectrum
of
acceptable opinion
but
allow
very lively debate
within
that spectrum"
- Noam Chomsky

we laugh until we cry
and cry until we laugh.
we love until we break
and break until we Love.
we learn until we brag
and brag until we learn.
we fall until we fly
and fly until we fall.
we crawl until we walk
and walk till we crawl.

To what do we owe lives
Or should I say to whom do we owe our lives.

There is a time and place that we should be reflecting on something like this and I feel that during this strange event,
we should take advantage of it.

To whom are we loyal to
Our families
Our friends
Our values
Our morals
To whom do we answer to when we need to be uplifted.

What is the answer that we so desperately seek in life.
Oh how I wish I knew
But I think that in this time and place,
Reflecting is the best that can be done.

We reflect on
the past events
the worries
the joys
the life events
the welcoming
and the parting.

We have so many events to be thankful for and to learn from
But what so we have to give to those who have gave to us?
What can we do for them
Especially at this point in life.

I can’t explain the way you make me feel
It’s almost as if it’s all too real
Scared to look deep in those brown eyes
Afraid of all the possible lies
I know your scared too
I’m scared to fall In love with you
What if I already have?
Do you even feel half?
Half of what I feel?
I’m to scared for this to be real.

You ever feel like driving a car
with headlights off,
in the middle of the night,
on a hazy day?

You go over that conversation
you had yesterday,
thinking that you could have been less incriminating.

You ever spend time writing out your plans
on a sheet of note paper and find it,
days later,
crumpled in your shelf?
And that tiny speck of self esteem inside you just dies.

You ever feel you have to tiptoe around your thoughts
because the 'real' you wouldn't approve of them?

You lie awake half the night,
staring at the ceiling fan,
at the shifting shadows,
at the person next to you, lost in skepticism.

You remember that look somebody gave you
five years ago
one drizzly evening.
You remember that situation from last month,
wondering why couldn't you
have acted differently.

You ever feel like you're stuck in a loop?
An infinity loop?
Because that is just what over thinking is,
an infinite loop.
An endless assortment of 'what-ifs'.

Press 'Stop' and abort the mission.
Pull yourself together.
Give yourself that pep talk
and
go do whatever you always wanted to.
Every beam of light starts with a flicker.
Find your flicker,
it's out here.

Because one thought
is all it takes
to give you the most messed up picture of life.
And because one little thought
is all it really takes
to set things right again.
I've always felt that the main cause of unhappiness is overthinking. This poem is dedicated to everyone who thinks alike. Hope this motivates y'all!
