A sunset sends a gentle wave of gold washing over a beautiful blue sky
The lake mirrors what it sees
Until the wave seems to have soaked everything but the black silhouettes of the trees and land
Time passes and gold fades to a darker blue than before
But now bright white stars flood the seemingly empty space
A firefly sparks wonder as it flashes its message of light in morse code
Frogs and crickets fill the silence with their strange music
As we watch the world change,
We sit side by side and create a multitude of ripples that echo soundlessly towards the horizon

I let myself
make sanctuaries
in the crest of your lips;
they were eventually
washed away by the rush
of midnight coffees.
I let myself spell out your name
with the first letters
of my unsent emails
in exchange for a sigh of poems.
I let myself kiss the rims of my teacup
the way I kissed you
two days before you left.
I let myself ignore
the pile of dishes
to trace the tile grouts
that connect to your heartbeat,
and it led to a void
of dismantled veins
and arteries.

I let you
leave the littlest
specks of your scent
on my pillows,
I let you
dance with me
like my favorite sunset hue
danced with the sky
and soon,
the dusk came
and the music notes
and the piano tunes
all faded away.
I let you
write your name
in-between the lines
of my favorite songs
and now all I got
are mixtapes that scream
for you to come back,
darling, as if the cracks in my  voice
and the rips in my lungs
weren't enough.

I let you
sparkle like a big-city-dream
to small-town girl;
let you carve your lies
at the tip of my cigarettes.
I let myself
dream of cuddle nights
and picket-fence
kinda happy ever afters.
I let myself
walk in pj's
and bask in the ruins
of the weekend
that you left.

And darling,
maybe it wasn't because
you didn't love me;

maybe it was because I didn't love myself.

Let's laugh in the silence
For the world shouldn't know
That we're together.
And when the sun sets
Let's paint the skies with
Darker shades of purple
And let's fade into forever.
Let's paint our hearts a little darker
So that they don't resemble the broken ones
We're not broken, nor our hearts are
We're complete and unified as long as we're together.

Let's run on the sand
That takes us to nowhere
I'm too sure that we'll reach
The place where we always wanted to be.
Let's call this night our own
And just feel each other
Cause this is where we're supposed to be
Cause we've been here before.
When the silence hits us
And Hush takes all over the place
We'll know where to go.
Let's walk a little bit faster
Let's scream with our footsteps
Which are a bit too chained
We'll break those chains
Those cage, those constraints
We'll not call it a home.
Let's be the music
Not what everyone expects us to be
But the one we wanna be
We don't know the music but we'll change the lyrics
And call them Hope.
Let our heart beat a little faster
Let's sit on the moon
And let's chase those Shooting stars
For I know we'll always chase the infinity
And at the same time we're infinite.
Let's count the breaths
That we never took
And dance on tiptoes.
Before we swoon
Let's get drunk on the night
Chase the madness
Trip a little and stop.
Let's just be as we are
Our flaws, our scars
Our laughter, our Chaos.
Tonight let's chase who we are
And fall for each other.

I love myself when I'm with you
Every imperfection becomes a crystal forest
Your words shine down and make me shimmer with amber sunlight
Together we are a sunset that outshines the stars

You make me radiant

Just beyond the sunset
the day's end paints the red horizon
radiance of orange, yellow, and purple light
what a brilliant sight.

Scent of wood fires burning
a coyote's howl fills the air
the day's song is at an end
and night's lullaby now begins.

I washed ashore on the ripples of my memory
Tipping on the edge on a mortal island
And my mortality seemed greater
The accosted sailor had saved me in a fit
He saw me with a nightlight
I call it a large lantern
Simple really if you wonder how many people
Would never find among the flora and fauna
Understanding the flow of the universe
And I found my peace already
Or I thought it was better than changing my rhyme each verse
That's why the free verse is like this
When you look at the things you observe
But, you miss something in them and the going gets tough
The lugubrious streets are something imprinted
So, I kind of glad that the sailor changed my mind about the reverse
And the fate I had was maybe changed by a Godly act
And my human luck
Or it was just the flow of the universe that I landed upon
And islands were just a part of the metaphor
That was lucidly my life
Liberating myself from these lintels and circumstances, it's hard to forget that ballad
The song of poetic device like assiduous alliteration of the streetlamps
Sequacious sundry of people and the contingent of the serried three
People on a lone boat occupied the place
And burned the forests down to an ashen pile
These sailors had come looking for old gold

As there was not much time to feel sorry
I held back my words and felt I had left the world without words
I discovered Seba Jun in late 2009 when I started highschool, kind of casually inundated this music but didn't learn of his death until a few years after. It made me sad then, but hearing this "new" release today made me tear up a bit. It gives me a feeling as if this was his final departure song.. an untitled, bittersweet little song left for us to remember him by. Rip Nujabes, you will never be forgotten.
The ocean and the sky
The place where the end and the endless meet
The place where they dance with golden embers of fire
The ocean and the sky
The place where the endless and the end meet

Hazel eye
Outshining the darkening sky
And the dancing ocean premise
Brilliant laughter
Brighter than the dying star

The ocean and the sky,
Where all the ends meet

The moments in my life when I’ve been the happiest are the times when
I’ve seen the beauty of every sunset,
I’ve danced in the rain,
and when I’ve watched the flowers bloom

...with you
Hanna C S Jul 2019
I watched as she,
   The surf,
          Giggled and gagged
                Against sand’s constraints,
Playing dead on shore’s lap she lay eager
                    In wait,
And he, outwitted by deceit’s delight,
                                 Allowed her company.

Then like a child at play,
     She crashed and caved,
            Swallowed, swilled and spat
          him up.
                She, Crowned in exultation,
                         She, Appeased by smug victory,
                         Arched and moaned and sighed.

She, with a smile that dripped sweet nothings
           Left him smooth,
                   Polished to glint and gleam.

                                         Yet, She, upon returning home,
                              As most guilty lovers do,
Finally lay still to sound of her lover.

                  I watched,
           as she,
sunk to the cries of the Sun,
uttered soft apology.

Though, that too, like such lies often are,
Was drowned by her beloved’s glare,
And for all she had done,

                               Blue was burnt scarlet,
as the surf was set ablaze.

Beside me, your glare blends into my mind,
Your sincere, enchanting, deep eyes
"I need to find myself"
Our lips meet, and the space between us is filled by darkness
We kiss with passion, and I dont want to let go

The space between us multiplied by the second
And emptiness sets in
The door is closed smoothly, but surely
Bleeding golden light across my skin
Your touch is replaced by temporary void

And again, time cuts too soon
I look back once,
I look back twice
And you look down,
As the sun set behind you
The gold blended with the sand, bright flares illuminating our eyes
All black, you stood away from the scenery

The simplicity of one moment,
And the warmth pulling me back, your softness asking me to stay.
but I turned away
"We'll meet on the other side"
