Never be afraid
Let go
Reinvent yourself how you'd like to show
A fresh new image of own design
Reborn person fantastic and fine
Always encourage creativity
Give it acres of room to romp and run free
Be mentor to the self within
Guide to the surface of your skin
Teach to be confident and comfortable
Take care to be cautious and stay out of trouble
Always reach for stars shining bright
Charge ahead bravely with all your might
Something a bit different than my usual

Regret
by Michael R. Burch

Regret,
a bitter
ache to bear . . .

once starlight
languished
in your hair . . .

a shining there
as brief
as rare.

Regret . . .
a pain
I chose to bear . . .

unleash
the torrent
of your hair . . .

and show me
once again—
how rare.

Wet pavement shining
tail-lights like rockets flaring
cars fly down the road.
Written on March 30th 2013 this was inspired by the way the light reflects off the wet pavement looking like a rocket flare going straight down beneath the car

The sun doesn't apologize for shining.
The rain doesn't apologize for falling.
The birds don't apologize for singing.
The trees don't apologize for growing.

You don't need to apologize for being.

a multi-toned beauty
that shifts in color
depending on how the lights hit it

a stunning glitter
that shines beamingly
whatever the case,

you stand up.
you are shining.
i'm lucky to have met you.

The sun shining through the curtains
A line of sunlight on your face
Then I woke up
Ahah I said sike

It is like in a certain room to be
Alone, no windows and not even
A door;
And so you sit or even lie
There prone,
And the darkness emits
So strange an odor
Which is too hard to scorn but neither to adore;
And all you see is an unfathomable
Darkness
Which nonetheless does shine
And shimmer with all its dark brightness;
So bright it could blind you; but if you are
Blinded by darkness then could you regain
Your sight by
Shiness?

For millions of years,
The sun has been shining,
It’s endless giving has made it even more beautiful!

For millions of years,
The moon has been radiating light, and it has only become more exquisite With giving!

The earlier horror leaves DT
a broken drunken man
building smaller worlds within worlds,
boxes within boxes,
memories within smaller memories
to keep the monsters from eating
the shining he has left.

He is forever moving
to the same room
with different people.

“We are all dying”, he thinks,
“The world is one big hospice
with fresh air.”

The calico cat jumps on his bed,
sensing it’s time for the long dream.

“Nothing to be scared off, it’s just sleep,”
are his last thoughts as he
fondles his sobriety chip before
meeting his father in their shared dark.

The man takes a drink.
The drink takes a drink.
The drink takes the man.

In his dreams the world is full of
superheroes, vampires and redrum
reflecting backwards in the mirror.

He doesn’t end.
He just flys away.
Heaven is full of the shining.

The light shines in the darkness
Although few can see it
It finds a way to shine through it
Those turn their back to it
Fear it will outstay
So they shove it away
Those that respect it
Have seen its array
Hoping it will sway that dreadful darkness away
In the poem the "light" is reffered to as a (person) and the "darkness" being (criminal activity)
