Bouncing
An orange ball
Repeatedly against the floor.

Fake left.
Run right.
Pass.
Reverse.
Shoot.
Miss.
Rebound.
Repeat.

We must all be mad,
For we are doing
The same thing,
Over and over again,
And expecting a different result.

Lose the ball.
Run down the court.
Fast break.
Sprint.
Shot blocked.
Run back.

We run ourselves
Out.
To put a
Big orange ball
In a small white net.
And love every minute of it.

Back on offense.
Call the play.
Set a pick.
Roll to the basket.
Get the ball.
Shoot.
Get a point.

I don't know
What I would do
Without this madness
This again and again
This over and over

It may be mad,
But it makes me happy.
Basketball is my favorite sport
If you try to catch me when I fall,
I'll just hit the pavement and being to crawl.
I'll walk up steps and get to the top,
There where I can repeat the flop.

I am from the seasons
That never ends
They repeat their memories
Repeating them selves
Dead branches white snow
Blue sky the sun’s glow
Red leaves the winds blow
Green grass the river’s flow
These bewitching seasons enamor me no end
Memories tug at my soul
In their depth I blend
Besotted by seasons I am
They leave me in jam
Clocks turn, Seasons change
Memories and moments one can’t exchange
Accepting each season
Approaching each moment
I breathe in cold frigid air
And exhale warm clouds
Seasons are happy
Seasons are sad
Seasons are beautifully mad
I am from the seasons
That never ends
They repeat their memories
Repeating themselves.

You can't have what you want
For you want it too much;
Your obsession destroys
Everything that you touch.

It's like you squeeze so tight
Until he cannot breathe;
Then he must run or die,
As you refuse relief.

It is blatant nature;
Obvious as you go
Bathe in your ignorance
And put on the same show.

The tears,  "I don't know why"
But we tell you each time:
You must love at distance,
Tone down your persistence
And love him enough so
He will not want to go.

Minor regrets,
i'd call it all a sin,
For you it was cloud 9,
Tiny pictures with old phone numbers written,
The same girl i remember,
And you left it at that,
And as a matter of fact,
Your heart's a perfect Abstract,
i can be everything you want,
with your skinny jeans,
I can be your do's and your don't's,
just excuse me please,
Lustful thoughts,
Is definitely a sin,
For me it was heaven,
i'd Do it all Again.

|           She was a soul
                 So bliss,
             She was a girl
            So meaningful,
She could catch those falling,
    If they were not careful.
She rode a ridged rough road.
             Hell and back,
             She would go.
               Over Time,
     Her road turned to blur.
              She was me,
                   Until
             I had lost her.

Run run run
Run away if you can
Stay stay stay
You've never done
You're the one with the trigger
But I'm at the end of the gun

Put myself in your line of fire
I want to bleed
Have you cut me so I blame you
I've sown my seed
Now you are the reaper
(Though it's my greed...)
Title is a song title by Emery.

Who's the killer?
James Meyers Feb 2015
My fingers are birds
flying over white and black
taking steps, whole and half
My foot is a pedal
press it, change the sound
My eyes are a barcode scanner
that see repeated change
My body is a metronome
swaying side to side
While notes and chords fill
my head's inside
Inspired by The Secretary's Chant by Marge Piercy
Silence Screamz Feb 2015
Break my sleep
with taken air
Eyes wide shut
in a frightened stare

Mind left frozen
and body stiff
Translucent images
with painful riff

Burning light
to senses numb
Return the monster
that haunted some

Took my youth
and left the child
Spinning room
from demented mild

Flew through the wires
and felt all cold
Kept coming back
entrenched and sold

Repeated dream
punished me scared
Each night the same
more intense and flared

Dripped in sweat
caved into my head
Tingled left feeling
Gone to the dead

Each night was the same
returned to the night
Alone frightened child
wrapped up tight

Confused and a mess
not gone from my mind
The repeated dream
comes back every time
You ever had that one dream that scared you as a child and you can never forget?
