I'm with you right now
...next to you....
inside you
lighting up any of those dark corners.
George Krokos Mar 2018
I can see the sun but can it see me?
and so wonder if this could ever be.
It shines down on me from there up high
and I feel its warmth on my body nigh.

I regard it now as a lifelong friend
who will always be there until the end.
If many clouds obstruct its light from me
there's a minor change of mood that I see.

I also look down where my shadow's cast
before me when my back to it goes past.
This need not be of any real concern
for I have got to move around and turn.

I cannot look up at it for too long
because its light to my eyes is so strong.
All creatures depend on its light to live
and that's what its purpose is all to give.

I bear the scorch of its cruel heat at times
by living within the world's changing climes.
But, saying this, I'm not the only one,
who complains in a verse about the sun.

I enjoy its presence most of the day
and in its light I often work and play.
In the night it shines there via the moon
to remind me that it will be back soon.

I can look up at the moon in the night
and thank it for not being very bright.
It has a calming effect on the mind
and acts like it's of an opposite kind.

I then especially like the full moon
as it breaks through the clouds to make me swoon.
Revelling there under that midnight sun
with all the stars shining beyond this one.

A visitor,
not a resident
once again.

You walk in and out
as though it was a revolving door.
You visit me as though I am a sovoneour shop,
just to see how much one would miss you.

My heart has become exhausted of
the constant switch between the void and the presence.

For you make a vacation out of me,
when I ought to be a sanctuary.
You turn me into a hotel room,
when I ought to be home.

My name was not the one that was to be traced on sand and washed away by the waves
but the one you would engrave with ink on your skin.

I am oxygen
I am water
Not momentary
or unncessary
like the label of the presence of expiry you labeled me with
Or your temporary devotion.
I feel.
The past,
I was.
The tomorrow,
I am not.
The Right now,
I am.

Tracing your footprints,
Recalling your promises,
Finding your essence
In the past of mine is so beautiful
But accepting your absence
In the present of mine so horrific.
Your death didn't lead to mine
But your absence leads.
Your eyes, sweet skin, hair little brownish
and that permanent
tattoo breaks me down.
I know you are here somewhere
But reality says the truth.
Every night walking on the beach
Finding you in those stars sounds childish
But dear "I love you" ...

We've torn down buildings, and built new ones
Yet we have no foundation.
We are illiterate to what we truly feel and breathe unless,
It is seen else where first.
It too is a reality that we've created.
This feeling that can only be described in Braille.
We too are restricted.
These bumps that go unnoticed.
The mumps in the crevice we band aid until it's too late.
We continue to tear down these fortresses of ourselves.
What concerns most is that I see myself in you.
The same love and laugh that become the building blocks that haults the storm.
Yet we reject each other due to the mentality of our environment.
With lack of understanding,
We fail to embrace choosing the cause and effect of all differential.
We seek to destroy forgetting what's important.
We work against each other doing more damage that good.
We need each other to further emancipation.
To build one another once this storm reaches peak.
As simple as it sounds it becomes more complex.
To build a new building on top shakey ground.
Everything must be cleared out.
The participation of presence

I'd like to blame on the weather,
but actually it's your presence
that makes the air flammable
and my blood rush acts like a gasoline.
You are like a ball of searing fire that has my veins jumping out of my body.
If you are capable to make me feel something authentic
just by these simple and short occasions,
with you..
those little moments..
they aren't little...
When I'm with you, only you...

Are you awake my love it's so hard for me to sleep.
I'm so tired yet my eyes do nothing but weep.
I don't feel you holding me or your warm breath on my skin.
I rolled over and reach for you as I felt a piercing coldness deep within.
Laying here beside you your presence  nowhere near.
I knew at that moment I was about to come face-to-face with My Own Worst Fear.
Please wake me from this nightmare it's not supposed to be this way
God put us back in each other's arms for us to stay.
My love for you hasn't nor will it ever die.
I would lay down my life for you and never even ask why.
I shouldn't feel alone as you're lying right next to me.
Please bring back that man that I fell in love with the way things need to be

When you smile, my heart skips a beat
When you sing, I move my feet
Your bright bubbly personality is a breath of fresh air
It always makes me better knowing you are there
You brighten my day and make me smile
You possess a beauty that is always in style
You shine like the sun and the stars at night
You are a constant source of warmth and light
You are my friend, this much is true
You are my friend and that's why I love you
