I am not pretty perfect porcelain
I am a beautiful piece of coal
I don't care how you see me on the outside
Because I know that on the inside
I'm beautiful enough
if not more

Each night I ponder
on moonlit beams holding my hand
Each night I wonder
on sun rays dancing on dusty beams
And when
the wind shatters my porcelain lips, or
the stones callous my deviate feet
I feel comfort
I feel peace

Seeing happy holiday faces
Sappy sentiment and saccharine smiles
** ** **, and jolly jelly laughs
Pondering the likelihood
That their smiles are as porcelain as my own
Painted lips in Victorian red
Eyes done up in glitter and paint
Hoping that happy leaches into grown ups
From the wonder and joy that is the truth of babes

at least you still have your heart
i'm molded glass and iron
things are ice and cold
metallic, lacking fire
no understanding, just being
waves floated and crashed
days lived and passed
stories told, forgotten
words spoken, promises broken
hermetics exposed, porcelain froze
perfection, a far distance
many planes, lands, wildernesses and visions
spirit awoken, undone and redone
sure to speak up or be forever a silenced pun

"Don't let me make the same mistakes in life"

Hid my tears with makeup
Curled my hair despite the burns
   Pierced through my desperation for
                            earrings
Some may call me an attention
                              *****
Or a girl who finally embraced
                     her feminine side
                      But I don't care
Your opinion is the only one that
                            matters
But you had the audacity not to notice

Here are the thousand hopes packed in a red coffin
Made of yarns and tied with black string
It comes with flowers and wrapped in green
As if it is so weary; it flashes a grin

Here is the sleep packed in  wooden jars
Unreachable for the latches are worn down
Then it comes, decorated in porcelain
With cracks spread across and glossed by tears

Carve down the ornaments and you shall see
The nightmares and scars it hatched
When you and I walked down, forlorn
To call for Pandora and the hope she’d forgotten

Here are the bullets torn down during life
The protector and murderer of our own kind
They come disguised in arsenic laces
Tearing the night and the vulnerable moon princess

Carve down the ornaments and you shall see
The dreams and bruises it abandoned
When you and I walked down upon chaos
To call for Erebos and the darkness he caresses
I had always wished that someone would devour me slowly
With my heart pulsing upon fine china
Sliced into daintily with only the finest silverware
As the throbbing red meat reaches your lips I wanted you to
Savor the way it melts on your tongue
And hum contently as you sip the wine of my blood

But to love is to succumb to the hunger
Of plush lips searching for flutters
Of butterfly’s wings to swallow them whole
To skim across tendered skin as porcelain gives way
To whiter bone teeth shattering the barrier of everything
That keeps the soul from becoming completely effete

And sometimes that means giving yourself away upon
The dusty remains of your confidence spilled across the floor
As fingers count every rib protruding from your waist
Or grasp at every rounded edge rested on your frame
And you will hiss as nails bury themselves in a sad attempt
To cling on to the only hope of connecting their mind with yours

And some days you will wonder why
And some day you will accept that answers don’t exist

day after day ticks by as i sit on the shelf
head held high with pride
cheeks pink
lips rosy
hair gloriously golden.

i am the epitome of grace
i am beautiful
i am perfectly proportioned
i am everything you want to be
and more.

i can be a goddess
and you will no longer be godless

let me sit upon your mantelpiece
your table
your bookshelf
so you can tire of me in a year
(perhaps two)
and I will lie on the ******* heap with candlewax and rotting vegetable peels
staring blue-eyed into nothingness.

*(you are nothing without me)
