I ran up the hill
To see the sunset
Only to realize
I forgot my camera

So I took a picture
With my brain
And had it enlarged
For eternity in my memory.

The picture
that you drew
You said
give to him
I kept it
I'm the one
who seeked you
Not him
Binding us
Forever
My friend

sometimes I wish I could wipe the identity off of my face
throw away the picture and buy a new frame
but instead I wash my face only to reveal a more concentrated version of me
I used to know who I was

Dark clouds at night a
flash of lightning appears and
reveals heaven's stair
At night when it was about to rain and lightning light up the sky one can see pictures in the storm .

the cold, breeze
of the wind
that made your
hair become
a playful mess

the smile
from your lips
that showed
happiness
felt within

your clothes
hugging your
strong, tall
yet huggable
figure

all these
features
of you
that i came
to love

i took it
in a snap,
in the form
of a pictureー

a tangible memory,
frozen in time
"oh baby, i just wanna see that twilight. wanna see that with you."

A picture paints a thousand words,
A novel tells a hundred stories.
A poem shares a million thoughts,
But what do we?
A poem every day.

FLASH

"the exposure looks kinda funny"
"maybe just adjust the aperture a bit"
"add in the lighting"
"is the white balance set?"

the chair squeaks as it moves to the left
the weight shifts the couch in their direction
heat radiates from the family
whose fake smiles are nearly as blinding as the flash from the camera
despite the tripod, the camera sits off kilter
like the uneasy tension in the room
it feels hot--no, sweltering
unsettled emotions sit like
discarded mail
away and out of sight

CLICK

"Okay, we're good"

and the family heads off in their separate ways
with no goodbyes for the others

Darling
Even a single rose can
Portray a beautiful picture
As you do.
