I've been stuck in the middle pages,
Hung up on a cross that I created,
Built out of the bones that I've been breaking.
life's not out to get you,
Despite the things you've been through,
Because what you give is what you get,
And it doesn't matter what you do.

Sometimes things will bend you,
But trust me you'll be fine,
I've been moving mountains that I once had to climb.

Please let me stray.
Let go of my hand
and watch me dance.
Upon the graves of your forefathers.
They were once mine too,
but I let go too soon.
The mountains look down in scorn.

Please a kiss on forehead
would **** a thousand demons,
so bring out your lips
mix my blood with yours
and let's resist the call of prayer.
Here we have each other
That must be enough.

Heart it calls for everything it touches
Heart calls for it all,
A greedy child,
Who never wants to hear the word no
Who never says it at all.

I lived for the word.
I lived for the eyes
Meeting in the dark.
I am here, and you are here.
I am here, and you are here.
I am here, and you are .
I am, You are.

my depression's thick and heavy
cold & wet
I run towards mountains
the cold air slapping my cheeks
& freezing my lungs
their white tops gleaming in the distance
-catch me if you can-

I want the years back
they took when I was young
make them disappear
walk away from those sociopath lovers

I stop running
there's a part in the trees
stare up & I'm blinded
-Seattle's always sunny-

I write my name in the tree's skin
& it suddenly doesn't look right
you write yours next to it
draw a heart around them
I smile at you & shake my head yes
pout my lips & say "no"

my eyes open
it's all gone
it's still today & I'm naked in your bed

Part 1: 'Upon Arisal'

Upon arrival my thoughts painted a patina
Full of dark hues of crimson and ink
Creating a stark contrast between the living colors of a healthy mountain sky

Months of worry and loss perpetuated a sense of loneliness
Like a disease slowly unraveling the progress and success
Obtained after years of falling

You taught me how to stand...
How to love...
And how to forget...

Upon my first step into this wilderness,
Our home,
A rush of lost emotion was found
And above me the sky roiled,
Screaming in protest,
As my thoughts of you merged with the quiet serenity of the neighboring peaks
To form a rolling tempest
Of our past and my present

The pain then crashed upon my soul
Sending myriad flashes of opposing memories
Incompatible with the reality of your absence

Through this colorful migraine
I found the courage to take another step,
One foot in front of the other,
Each alleviating your glare that had consumed my senses

With the last ray of light upon the horizon
I, like the sun, set down your image
So that upon my arisal
Fresh eyes can begin to see the sky
For its own inherent beauty
That for so long I had attributed to you

Part 2: 'Sunrise Orchestra'

I awoke to a song
A melody foreign to the ears
Of a life surrounded by concrete
Walls that strangulate the creative nature
Against mother natures nurture

With every note, a new realization dawned
Like the sun rising above jutted cliffs
Each varying in magnitude
To the degree that even the birds
Didnt know their tune

When alas,
The chorus reached a mountain creshendo
Filling the forest with such harmony
That I knew with every single beat
These woods are a part of me

Part 3: 'A Fires Radiance'

A fire has never burned so beautifully
Its radiance so mesmerizing that,
Like a thief in the night,
It had captured and stolen
More than just my attention
But also the affection of my heart
As it brushed its golden hot flames
Into forked tridents,
Each invoking the image of poise and grace
As it danced around
Joyfully engulfing every ounce
Of positive energy to be found
With every twig and log added
The blaze raged brighter
Burning at such a pace
Not even a whole tree could withstand
Its reach
Yet no ember wishes to be confined
As the wind gusts in,
A shower of sparks fly at their embrace
Spreading the message in wonderful ashes
Across this mountain
And to the amazing woman
Who ignited my inferno

Part 4: 'We Push'

Forward we Push
Into the never ending
Winding paths that detour
The heart
From the course of the ordinary
To achieve the extraordinary
We Push
To be more than the others
And better than the most
Panting and huffing we release
Our constraints,
These chains that shackle and bind
Our minds to the normalcy
That plagues the weak
So we Push
To be
More

Part 5: 'Home, In the Clouds'

Looking back has never been so painful
To leave the place where you find peace
Is no easy task
For me that place is in the clouds
Atop deeply forested arches
That link our Terra to the heavens above
Allowing every brave Explorer
To reach for God itself,
And for just a few fleeting moments
Understand what it means to be holy,
And pure
Like the crystal clear streams that carve
The mountainside
Creating bizarre gneiss's
That resemble an ocean wave
Turned to stone,
As old as Terra herself,
Slowly crashing down the cliffside
Moving the world
With every breath
Of my mountain home

We mustn't be
afraid
to climb the
mountains
we encounter.
For upon
them we become
aware
that every single
step we've taken
has led us to our highest point.

Oh my word. Can I get a heck yeah?

I want to bottle this air just for you
I wish I could wrap it up and bring it back!
If I could hold my breath long enough this would be easier.
So I think you should just come with me next time
So I can kiss you

I wish you could feel this breeze
I wish you could come above the clouds!
If I had a fan just gentle enough then maybe I could show you.
Until then I think you should just come with me
So I can brush my fingers through your hair.

I wish you could see these flowers
I wish you could see these colours!
If I could show you the shades of your eyes maybe then you'd see
So next time I think you should just follow me
And we can smell the same flowers together

I wish you could feel these hands,
I wish you could feel these lips!
If I could place a kiss on your cheek and my hands on your hips
Maybe I wouldn't have to ask you to follow me
And we could smell the same flowers together
And roll around in the same grass
Forever.
It was in the magic of the forest, the colours of the deserted road
That I tasted the warmth of the Sun, and learnt to drink the bitter ocean whole

It was in the stirring of sugar and milk in aromatic tea
It was when each of my bones ached and desired, and I was brought down to my knees

It was when something like the river current blew a hurricane inside of me
That I hungered and lusted and craved to know what it was like being free

I felt the wind gently caress my face, it fondly teased and played with my hair
I felt the water enfold me, tenderly its bubbles and droplets delved into my skin, raw and bare

The earth cradled me like a child, the soft milky moonlight touched my skin, and feasted it's eyes upon me, not naked but exposed
They say the mountain is naked, how odd. They simply can't see her drapped under silken white snows

towering gently overflowing with heightened awareness
subtle hints of blade’s keen glittering chiseled edges
untamed rugged surface powerfully averts gale’s acrid tempest
vigor pulsating that doth persuade the cloud’s reflections
if i shall not again embrace a meager glimpse; a demure echo
of thine towering mounts my soul shall ever suffer

my spirit soars with e'er one glance of thine majestic presence
replete with reminiscence seasons stir and beg thine tender mercies
to house the changing leaves at dusk of autumn’s auburn portraits
and give birth to crystal snow cascading peripherally in winter
which melding into spring then begs thy bluffs to cover
in soft amethyst of columbine blossoming first light of summer

‘tis not paramount to scale high aloft thine peaks in escalation
for small sheer glances stamp forever with imperial impressions
and ‘tho i’ve traveled ‘round and savored nature’s varied essence
none can compare thine evergreens laced in aspens nuance
my breath is gone and shan’t return ‘til in thy shadow casting
i stand and look upon thine hallowed face the rocky mountains

In the circle of what will be,
I am you, and you are me!

Some people are short, and others are tall,
Yet you are reflections of them all!

The great big stars that are in the sky,
Have the same twinkle that's in your eyes!

The dance of lightning, thunder, and pouring rain,
Are quite like your spirit's dance, maybe even your pain.

Our Sun that brings warmth, and shines its magnificent rays,
Is your beating heart, which will brighten everyone's day.

Mother Earth has a heart and lungs just like you,
So we must love her, And bless her,
For she will take care of you, too!

Birds can fly high, or sing in a tree,
And you will fly with them,
And sing as one family!

Snakes will hiss and slither ever so low,
But you can protect them, wherever you go!

Life on the planet, is life up in space,
All you must do is look within to find that magical place!

Now...

Not everyone knows how special they are,
Or how beautiful they seem,
So it's up to you to share your love,
And awaken them from their dream.

Perhaps there are moments when you will forget,
And will need a friend to help you remember,

Your brothers and sisters will light a fire,
And you can dance, sing, and cry
Until you smile before the ember!

With your eyes open wide,
And your heart filled with love,
Spirits will send you messages,
From below and above!

The mountains will cheer and rivers will flow,
When your walk is in truth
- the whole world will glow!

As you grow wiser,
And reflect on what you are shown,
In your heart, you will know,
That you are never really alone.

And in the circle of what will be,
I am you, and you are me.
This is a children's story that I plan to publish and illustrate with my dear sister Jenna. Thank you, Spirit!

Every now and then
I need my dose of modesty
To have someone or something
Show me the relativity
Of human creativity

So I go and wander restlessly
Through majestic mountains
With snow-clad hats
And watery feet
And lots of nature in between

And I realise the things I’ve done
The petty man-made magic
Is static and dull and pathetic
Compared to nature’s frantic
Splendour and might

I keep on hoping
That one day I can say
That the artificial can compete
With nature’s regal feat

Though now I humbly admit
That the peaks and the crags
Crumble my effort and wit
And show me all that I lack
