she gravitated toward knowledge

much like

the moth to a flame,

and the flame that knowledge was,

it burned her

Picture perfect perception
of what washes
                      over observations
of what we saw,
         loitering over soiled sheets.

We gestated over what we thought
                        was a perfect portrait.
But beneath solid reflections we slept on.

Moths of discontent chew beneath the
        layers of what we dress
                                         our relationship on.
Decaying virtues, they show disrepair of
what you painted. But its eroded beyond
contemplation, nothing is as our sight verses it.

And I know one day,
I'll look into her eyes and say,
"I love you"
With body language, with touch,
When the way she laughs becomes too much.

Fingertips like felt rolling over
Stitched feelings of brokenness,
Diamond eyes catch the unraveling
Of confusion into wholesomeness,

I'm mended, I'm alive, and goddamit
I'm swollen with #pride

When I finally welcome my gay *** into some worthy recognition. Too bad it took another boy's broken heart to get here.

Now that I know love is not boring, I want to fall in love.

Everything my heart desires is either too far for my arms to reach or too hot for my fingers to touch;
But like a moth to a flame, I move towards it even as it consumes me.

Running after you love
Is like chasing the sun
Always in my sight but
never getting any closer
Yet you light my life
with the shine of your eyes
and all I want is to touch
knowing I would burn

Now I am getting familiar
With the starry night
Intertwining with all
the darkness inside
Catching fireflies in the sky
Hoping they could fill that void

Mazed moths flying into fire
Sudden urge of life to expire
Makes sense to me now
If I be the flying bug
and you my demise somehow
then i will have my grave dug
surging willingly to you
longing for one last hug.

Sometimes I watch the clock to remind me
To remind me that I'm not frozen in time
I can still be seen
I exist

And sometimes I smile, because
Smiling is typically contagious
Some people get off on happiness
But its a drug that's worth the trouble

Did you know that happiness is equally dangerous
People do crazy **** for pleasure
But is pleasure really happiness
Or is that just what we tell ourselves...

As I wonder in a repetitive tick
And realize that these feelings are stupid
To feel so anxious
It's all so obsolete

Anyway, I'm ready to go
Have to catch the bus to get home
I hate Mondays
But only when the sky raises false hope

In a moments time
I'll disappear from your mind
You hold my existence in your power
But like a glance, I'm something you simply see
Not something you'll ever miss
*Sigh*

I wonder if a moth has ever tried to fly to the moon,
I wonder if she dreamt of it while asleep in her cocoon,
Ambitiously flapping and seduced by the light,
Of that yellow moon shining, enticingly bright.
I wonder if she tempted all the perils of the sky,
I wonder if she conquered all the limits of her mind,
Certainly, she made it.. At least one can dream,
To believe that the impossible is closer than it seems.

The darkness around me is impermeable,
Gloomy, funereal.
It weighs down on me, and I imagine
Atlas holding up the sky,
The unbearable burden on his shoulders,
And I feel the same pain.
I struggle to breathe,
Each breath tears at my throat,
Rips its seams and sinews
Until I can barely speak.
My tattered wings flutter uselessly,
My muscles losing strength every moment,
My vigor being drained by the darkness surrounding me,
Until I can hardly stand.
Suddenly, a brilliant ray of light shines from
Somewhere in the darkness,
A beacon, directing me somewhere.
Warmth, hope, joy, peace, and relief flow out from
The light source in a everlasting stream.
A river of light, a torrent of happiness, that
Drags me out of my stupor, injecting new
Life into my veins, causing my wings to flitter with
Renewed aspirations.
I fly haltingly towards the light, drawn to it by
An almost supernatural force.
However, the closer I get, the harder it is to see myself;
My wings fade, becoming almost transparent, and
A piece of the dull ache returns, a remnant of the darkness.
The pain gets closer as I get closer to the light,
Closer to you.
You are my light, and I am your moth.
Everything good, everything true, you represent,
But I can’t touch you, can’t truly know you.
I can’t lose myself.
I can’t be your moth anymore.
Find yourself a butterfly.
