Often, I dream of you, he said, the taste of your breathe is my favorite.

Now, stop talking and kiss me.

Whatever trial and tribulation would breathe upon my neck,
However difficult the path ahead may be,
Whichever hurdles attempt to arrest me,
Howsoever the riddles of life befuddle me,

All these challenges,
All the laws of men,
Will never cease away the moments of happiness you have given me,
Will never dull the figments of blissful memories you have created with me,

Forever within me shall they remain,
Till the tides, and the winds, favour me no longer.

Strum out to me,
Oh music man,
That sweet mandolin tune,
Tell me the secrets of this world,
I'll keep it just between you and me.

I'll take my snippets of unfinished poetry,
And you take your unfinished book,
We'll mash them together into a chunk of clay,
And what results I think will do.

Let me take you in my arms,
And swing about the room,
To some merry little jig,
Only heard between us three.

Let's laugh to loud like *******,
And banter like buffoons,
Rant and rave like jabbering macaws,
And croon until we're blue.

Take care of me when I drink too heavy,
And nod along to my song,
Even though my guitar may be out of tune,
Carry my traumas when they become too crushing,
And say you love me too.

While you were away
I felt misguided and could barely sleep
Wish that you would stay
I fought my demons while you counted sheep
Just tell me what to say
I'd swim in dark oceans to see you here
Made from my very own tears

I heard the news that you found him last week
And while you 2 met up, I got so meek
I punch the walls in my own mental scape
He saved your heart while I struggled to escape
Please pick up the phone
I guess all heroes don't have to wear capes
Back when I was one to you

I hear you as it plays on repeat
emotions grill me as I feel the heat
I fight the air, yet end up in defeat
So you won't answer that phone?

I swear in my texts as my tears type the words
You think I hate you when I'm this absurd
I still see you as such a shining star
Can't find another as you raised the bar

I send the last text saying "I miss you"
I lose confidence "and I'm sorry too"
"I hope you know that our love was true"
And I would give the world just to meet you
Something I wrote a good while back and never had it in me to post, I feel now is a good time

"I dreamt that the river was burning"
"I dreamt that the snow was on fire"
"And"
"In dreaming impossible dreams"
"I dreamt that you were my lover"

but...
the river dried up,
the snow had melted,
my eyes opened,
and...

I can't remember

A stranger stole my heart
left a mark I can’t deny
I never got to touch you but I feel you everywhere with me
It’s like our souls are intertwined
Isn’t it strange, stranger Or should I call you beloved stranger who stole my heart
You’re not a stranger no more
You have a place in my heart
I saved your love notes incase this is the last time you’ll write to me
I saved your voice notes incase I never hear you voice again
You said you’ll be back when you’re own you own two feet
I pray to god you find your peace

On scraps of paper
strewn about the house,
I catch a glimpse of your handwriting
and it resurrects you from the dead.

Amongst the living,
I can hear your whistle
as it echos in the hall
and I remember how I thought that,
'one day, you would make a good dad'.

Amongst the living,
I forget for a moment
that you’re thirsty
for my blood.
and that dust now gathers
in the spaces
where the blood used to flow.

Amongst the living,
I forget for a moment
that you’re haunting me.
That you’re still here
but I can’t speak to you.

That your corpse still lies
in the next room
Still.
Tv blaring,
The smell lingers
and it’s getting bad.
my phone lights up with your name

and I jump.

Amongst the living,
I remember
that you’re only broken.
I can see your smile
in my mind’s eye,
Your freckles
and how I used to count them.
I wonder now
how much time I’ve spent
staring at your face
and how I knew our baby
would have those eyes too.
primal, astral, ancestral,
blue.

I loved you once
and for a moment,
I remember.
