Wishing a very Happy Birthday
To the sweetest girl I’ve ever known.
My muse, my soulmate, my best friend.
Just for a moment would you loan me
An ear to show you I’m glad you know me.

I could give you every gift under the sun
And remind you every minute of every day,
You’re The One!

But nothing I say or do will ever be enough
To share my gratitude for your love.
To show you, no stars burn so brightly
As your eyes in mine, Dearest Dove.

The first time I saw you, stunned as you twirled,
It was plain to see, You’re The Gift To The World!

Kristin Bianca Garcia - I Love You ❤️💙💛
For my favourite teacher
And most beautiful friend.
Thank you for bringing me
Excitement without end.
If I were a fire, and you were my candle,
I might burn your body,
then illuminate every dark space
and make it bright;
even if it doesn't reach everything,
at least we haven't gone astray
for a while.

If I were a fire, and you were my candle,
we would burn at every celebration,
in birthday or wedding cakes.

If I were a fire, and you were my candle,
we would be a farewell gift,
and leave a scar on every melt.

Is it not the grave that takes them from us
It is not life’s end
Nor is it cruel fate - lost time
Nor is it God’s law - mortal frailty
It is distance that molds our memory
Light-years of joy, sacrifice, love
Painted in echoes of light
Amidst the passions of our hearts
We are tapestries woven in the womb
Adjoining the wider tapestry of family
A rope stretching back to the dawn of man
And forward to the twilight
Distance
How those echoes fade as we pass on the torch
Those who bore us are not mere fires in the dark
They are our suns
The centers of our solar families
Children, like the planets of this solar system
Revolve around each sun
Mother father, father, mother…
And when our sun fades into the endless night
Into a distance beyond our understanding
We are challenged to become the suns ourselves
To hold the worlds around us with the same
Unconditional love
Patience
Truth
Mercy
That was shown to us
A gift to light our way ahead
Into the distances we too shall cross
As we forge the light we shall leave behind.

The burden we face
When we lose the ones we love
Is one of distance
Yet we bear this weight
Not by pleasures or pain
Not by striving or seeking calm alone
We bear it by passing time with those we love
We bear it by sharing the joys vested in us
So that one day, we are the ones passing on
Leaving behind the memories of the suns that birthed us
So that they live on in all we do
We all awake
To know that there are angels among us.
We know angels by how we loved them
How they loved us
And how love unites us all,
Even in the dark
Even when there is distance all around
And the inevitability of our mortal frailty fills us with fear,
Yet, there is an irrepressible force of the human spirit
Whether it is love, creed, or purpose
We feel it when those who have gone
Are still here with us
In our hearts,
A presence in our homes,
A familiar face in our children,
Or a letter in their handwriting
They never leave us.
So that distance
Is not there at all.
It is merely a measure
Of how far we’ve come...
I wrote this poem on Thursday, May 5th, 2021.

It was written as a gift to a coworker to commemorate the death of her father.

I believe this was the second (or third time) I'd written a poem to commemorate an occasion. Both times, I did so rather quickly and on the fly, as I usually do, which fills me with a desire to write more poems to signify life events.

I felt I accomplished a consistent tone of reverence and a toeing of the line between somberness and hope, all of which serves this poem well and which the words in the poem find themselves characterized by.

My coworker was touched by this gift and I believe she read it at her father's eulogy, which, in turn, touched me.

I hope this poem touches you all, too.
I hope that, if you've lost a loved one, that they are, too, angels amongst us.

Enjoy!

It's your gift ...

would you accept a gift ...
it's a red gift ...
stay between a ribs ..
beats with a nicely music ...
it beats ...
sings as a song ...
with your name ...
it's there ...
inside me ...
would you ...
accept my heart ...

it's the heart ...
heart of me ...
hidden for all ...
no one can see ...
except you ...
and only it ...
belongs for you ...
because it's you ...
and only you  ...
who you deserve ...
this gift ...
which it ...
part of me ...

would you accept my heart ...

Feathers fall to Earth
At the request of the heart
A gift from angels

I am twenty three
She is twenty seven
I love her so much free
Our love is now flying in heaven

I am younger than her
She is older than me
Both of us are always together
Let sing a happy song for me

I am an ordinary boy
She is gorgeous one
We always enjoy
And make this life so much fun

I live in fantasy world
She tries to make me real
I want to grow old
and the love gives me all the feel

You're a lucky penny
In a land full of rust,
A shining sea of glitter
Foaming with iridescence

You're a present to my life
A gift that keeps on giving-
Sometimes good,
Sometimes terrible.

"It's the thought that counts..."
Well I can't think a coherent thought
When your name crosses my mind.

I found this poem in my notes app...I literally forgot I wrote it
"FRIEND OF THE HEART."

Evening comes a new I got this gift
of nature that
I just can't
afford to
lose. Which I
wish I could
keep so much
longer. I need
a friend of
the heart to
always there
to stay all
through the weather. Friends till
dying day. (s)

Good morning, Starshine

You're a gift to this world
I admire your generosity for others
Sharing freely from your heart

Your character inspires me
I recognize the resolve in your values
Challenging me to grow

Your spirit calls me
I thirst to know all of your secrets
Both broken and healed

Your energy moves me
I crave your touch
Addicted to the electricity it gives

Your soul sees me
I'm intoxicated by your words
Dismantling my armor

You're a beautiful creature
I'm thankful to intersect your path
Hopeful we can walk awhile

They asked, "why are you as silent as a stone?"
She replied, "why should I be voluble as the Mynah? My heart and tongue are deprived of goodness just like a desert, deprived of a sea.
Another voice said, "Ergo, redundant talk comes with unbearable guilt."
They asked again, " if so, why do you not speak the despairs you hide?"
She replied, " Because, the gift of patience usually reigns.
The Gift of Patience is indeed a very beautiful gift...
