As Glorious sun rises
over horizon I breath deep
aligning
awakening to who I am.

The song in wind plays
anointing feet
for wing-like dance.

The song of heart
energies self
so I see with new eyes.

The song of change
echoes inside inner self
to smile and share light.

My rebirth has begun
to dance in poetic words
and tickle readers eyes.

I am anchored on journey.
I have found my heart.
I am blessed.

My
My mornings got brighter
My smile stays a little longer
My heart beats faster
My nights got sweeter
My thoughts go deeper
My soul feels blessed to know that you are
my lover

I have been blessed with a guy sent from above
Someone who my thoughts and heart have stolen
Whose voice and presence brings joy to my days
Someone whose love I will never let go
What have I done to win someone like you?
Someone so pure, kind, and true
Whose love and care shows me every day
Someone whose patience cannot be compared
You are my answered prayer, my one true prince
You are my best friend and my guide
You are my confidence and the one
You have come to this world to lighten my life
My days I want to spend with you by my side
Happiness I want to give you until death finds me
But faith we have that heaven we will reach
for that special someone.

Oh mother land
How I miss you
You gave me life
And blessed me with culture
Baptized me in tradition
Nurtured me in love
Sweet Africa, sweet Africa
How I love you

if i die,
would you care,
if i was eaten by a bear,
would you just stare,
or would you care,
i shouldn't stress,
i'm very blessed,
caught in a nest,
with twigs and thorns,
oh why was i born!

Just before the sun greets my black skin
I sit in silence and embrace the day
Searching for what's within
Before the madness begins
At this time my soul knocks on heavens gates
Thanking God for another day
Praying he protects my family and friends

In a culture where reading is corny
Writing is even worse.
How do you explain child hood.
If all you had was a stuck of magazines.
Dreams dreamt.
At so tender an age.
Vision built.
Life looked at at a different perspective.
A beautiful perspective.

How do you explain.
That childhood can be books and stories.
How do you explain that its okay.
To not play in the hot afternoon sun.
To not mingle with the neighbourhood kids.
Because Beckham looks better on that magazine cover.
And you prefer to understand every bit of his wedding.

Is it wrong to grow up so fast.
Is it wrong to know about the world at 4.
And explain it better than the teacher...
Because you've read the story over and over...
Is it wrong to try to understand.
Actual things apart from dodge ball and running.

Maybe knowing is the greatest strength.
A gift open to readers.
Whereas others were born to live.
Others were born to do much more.
To spell life out.
To record moments.
To write down history.
And to proudly read it out......
To remind the world of a beauty they are too busy to record.

Where did you come from, sweet angel of mine?
I need not the answer to that.
- for life as we speak is bearable,
Life has gifted me with a companion,
A companion in which my soul shares it's entity with.
Liberty and Karma.
It's almost as if it were meant to be.
The pivotal moment of my youth has changed from once was a sea of unchanging grey,
-to an ocean of blue and endless possibilities.
so,
I thank the heavens for blessing me with a sweet angel.
-and so i thank you, Liberty, for joining me on this journey.
For trusting me and allowing me to trust you.
For laughing with me,
For many life changing times yet to come,
But mostly for being my friend.
I adore you endlessly.

yours truly,
karma
letter for a friend.
