I don't wanna be around people I have to explain it too
I wanna be around people who relate
Who get it
The struggle
I want to be around people who know what it's like to get their hair braided
Who knows what it's like when People touch your hair
Who know what it's like to weigh out whether or not you should fight back
Who know what it's like to have to change your vocabulary for someone
Who know what it's like to be the mean girl

Because it is a big deal.

You don't see it because it's not you
You don't see it because it doesn't matter to you
You dont see it because you aren't me

You don't know what it's like to get your hair braided
You don't know how it feels when people toch your hair
You don't know what it's like

For me it's not just touching my hair
It's treating me like I'm some exotic thing
It's making me the me the bad guy for calling you out, because your feelings got hurt
It's making sure not to use slang so I'm not "that kind of black girl"
It's being mean for speaking out

It's being around people who you have to explain this to.

When did I fall in Love with Hip-Hop? I remember seeing her, long legs, green eyes, beautiful features. I did not know Hip-Hop like I do now, I wish I had met you sooner. Hip-Hop had me infatuated, I had to get to know her.

Next thing I know Hip-Hop spoke to me and from then I knew I had to pursue Hip-Hop. A couple of days went by, and I finally built up the courage to introduce myself. From then I knew wherever Hip-Hop is, that is where I want to be.
The pursuit was magical still is. I Love the way Hip-Hop made and still makes me feel today. When did I fall in Love with Hip-Hop? In all honesty I don’t know when I fell in Love with Hip-Hop. Maybe it was when I first seen her or going through certain trials and tribulations along the way. I definitely made the choice to Love her with all my heart. No matter the type of Rhythm she has or if she is following the beat of her own, I Love her and everything about her.
Hip-Hop did not give up on me, she gave me more purpose. That was to cherish her forever. Hip-Hop is just right for me. I will Love her music in any era, time, and place. She became my muse for life.
Hip-Hop saved my life in a way that I did not even see coming. Hip-Hop tested me in many ways and helps me understand how to be a man. It taught me the value of time and energy. Hip-Hop gave me a family I always wanted. For that I will always fight for and to protect.

Hip-Hop value is truly beyond words. I want to be able to keep increasing that value. I want to protect and nurture that value. I genuinely appreciate her. I do not want to be scared or hardheaded when it comes to Hip-Hop, I just want to listen to her melody and dance with her soulfully. I would do anything for Hip-Hop, she has my heart. She always has.

No matter what phases Hip-Hop go through I will always Love, listen and dance with her. From the sole of my feet to the top of my head Hip-Hop will always make me peaceful, happy, and grateful.
Based off the Movie Brown Sugar reflecting my inner feelings when I first seen Hip-Hop

if i lie in bed
at night with the phone
flashlight on

so i can see the careful night
staring back at me

will i remember the taste
of summer
though late winter stings like california

will i watch a squinting sun
look at me like a black hole
though the night stays calm beside me

to find something
to know it

if i lie in bed
the dotting black of my room is the universe the flashlight is on
and i am the sun
In shadows deep, where silence reigns, A ceaseless ache, a binding chain, Through endless nights and weary days,
It weaves its thread in darkened ways.
No dawn to break this somber spell, In hollow depths, where sorrows dwell, A rider on a steed of black,
Through dreams of pain, no turning back.
Each step a whisper, cold and stark, In realms where echoes leave their mark,
No respite found, no solace near, Just endless paths of silent fear.
—Timothy Charles Carter
Can’t remember if I’ve fallen or have been pulled back into this …
It’s hard not to feel the pain
That forever lifts its head again
You try to shame me with your stain
Of me being who I proclaim
As if by chance I could change

To spite you, I would remain the same
Dance and shout and protest
While you try to keep me in my place
because in your eyes my blackness
Is still seen by you-- a disgrace

******* your white race
I felt I had better put a note with this poem.
I’m not a racist, let’s just get that out of the way
What I wanted to convey in this poem is what a
Blackman is confronted with nearly every day, it
Does not matter his finances. Rich, Poor, Middle Class
Believe me I’ve lived all three.  There is always that door,
That can’t be open, that step that can’t be climbed, unless
You have a white man or in my case women with you, and
Sometimes that doesn't even work, sometimes it makes it
Worst. You would understand if you were black.

I can't paint a pretty picture
when destruction looks me
right in the face
but
I can't paint a black picture
when I see hope shining
through the human face.

Thought I would end the last day of 2024 with these thoughts for now and the future. Here's to life!!!

SH stands for so happy
I carve it into my skin because I am so happy
I used to be so happy
All the time
So happy in the morning
So happy at night
So happy with a toilet paper roll over the sink
I loved to be so happy
I'm not so happy anymore
So
Unhappy?
So
Ber.
So this is me now
Not so happy
But I am happy
Just Happy
And JH doesn't stand for anything
I should probably write something for news

J’ai la couleur du café mal grillé
Et celle du chocolat précocement
Sevré, par les rayons du soleil du midi.

Mes cheveux évaporés, depuis des décennies,
Me suscitent à être reconnaissant,

Et celle du chocolat oublié dans les cafetières;
Aucun humain ne mérite d’être classé parmi les ordures,
Même si demain tout retournera en poussière.

Le marron inconnu est mon frère aîné;
Les rayons solaires nous ont parfaitement flambés,
Comme le café et cacao venus d’un pays émancipé.
