Don't run from me, baby
he said.
You are asking for it,
it's how I know you want it.

Beneath fragile skin,
beneath tiny bones,
there is a woman
just like any another woman

and she wants it.

Why?
Why?
Why?
Why?
Poetry doesn't have to rhyme
It doesn't even have to be in time

Why?
Why?
Why?
Why?
People don't have to like you
Even if you like them too

Why?
Why?
Why?
Why?
The question isn't asking who
It's asking chew

But...
Why?
Why?
Why?
**Why?

Have you ever wondered:
Why me?

Why did this happen to me and nobody else?

Well the truth is that it probably did happen to someone else, maybe even worse than the situation that you're in

So instead of asking "Why me?"

Start asking "How me?"
"How did this happen to me?"

Because the sooner you know that
The sooner you can learn from your mistakes

It's my day at home today
And people ask what I will do
But I turn to them and tell them
That I really do not know

Well I'll wake up in the morning
Feeling like I've had no rest
And the fear that lies within me
Will rise and constrict my chest
But I'll stand up and be counted
I'll work hard, I'll try my best
And if you're lucky then I might even get dressed.

It's my day at home today
Some people say I work too much
But if they want me to socialise
Why don't they keep in touch?

Still I'll sit at home and surf the web
And text them from my room
And I'll look at pictures on the net
Of people on the moon
Sing **** the ashcloud with Miss Palmer
She'll be Mrs Gaiman soon
And if you're lucky then I might just pen a tune.

It's my day at home today
And people ask me why I'm here
I say that's because I have no plans
I play my life by ear

But it's doing me OK so far
I'm living with it well
Even if sometimes it can feel like
A flaming pit of hell
Still I'm learning and I'm trying
Poking out beneath my shell
And if you're lucky and you're good then I won't tell.

It's my day at home today
Sometimes people ask me why
I shut myself in yet seem so strong
And never, ever cry

And I tell them that I'm happy
And that's why I don't look sad
And I try my best to help them out
When they are feeling bad
But they don't know what I cannot say
That I've been driven mad
And if they're lucky then they will not understand.

It's my day at home today
And some people ask me why
I prefer to sit behind a screen
And watch the world go by

I say the phantom of the opera
Composed in a secret place
For he never wished the light of day
To fall upon his face
Even if I'm sat behind a pane
I'm running my own race
And if you're lucky I might let you keep the pace.

It's my day at home today
And people ask what I will do
But I'll turn to them and tell them
That it all depends on you.

anybody got a map
so I can find who I'm looking for
seriously I've been trying to find her
but she's about as lost as Stevie Wonder in a grocery store.

I just want someone I can show off to the world and still keep our business in private
someone I can take to my parents and say
she's my pride and joy and she makes me smile each day

I mean, I'm the kind of guy that'll go get you candy if your on that womanly business
Need a rub down? okay turn to where it itches,

you want candy? tell me what kind you like the most
headache bothering you? I'll lick you until it goes away like an ungracious host

you walk to me crying? Who am I beating up today
want a kiss in front of everybody? you got it I don't give a crap about what they say,

yes I'm a nice guy or at least I try
and yes we still exist.
but can I just find someone that I can show my softer side...
can I find someone that's not going to destroy my time?

You may not know them
But I do
I want to reveal their names
But I'm hesitant
Why?
They are not selfish
Because they gave when I needed
And these two are Dr Andrew Ridgeley formerly of Wham now a doctor
And Dr Mark Schuller of Northern Illinois University

I met Andrew with George Michael
At that time Andrew saw how I felt
A little depressed and sad
I didn't know how he knew but he saw the sad expression on my face
And he looked at me with concern
As he would
He understood
I then would smile
Because someone saw and showed concern

Dr Mark Schuller was a professor
I came to admire
Came to be my mentor.

"Go ask your Mother"

'But she told me to ask You'

"Well, it's fine by me"
As a child, when I found the power of this!
Ricky Lacey Jan 2015
I don't believe in second chances and I never did.
I'm not asking for another chance and I never will.
I will demand it from you! So please...
But you don't believe in second chances either, you never did.
And you aren't going to give me one will you?
And you probably never will...
Abigail Shaw Dec 2014
Since when did ignorance become a cure?
Since when did turning a blind eye make everything dissapear?
Since when did ‘are you okay?’ become the only question asked,
And ‘I’m fine’ become the expected and definitive answer?
Because ‘I’m fine’ is the only answer I can give when someone is holding a gun to the back of my head,
I may be plummeting down a deep, dark hole,
But you’re the one watching me fall,
You’re the one who could simply unfurl there fingers from their balled up fist and offer it down to me,
You are the ****** of magpies, the unkindness of ravens,
That feed off of dying things and the excuse of ‘it’s all too much’,
Do not talk to me of burden when my hands are stained with blood and you can wash the paint so easily from yours,
Do not talk to me of burden when you’re not the one hiding nine circles of hell behind closed eyelids,
Do not talk to me of burden when bombed out basements have offered me more shelter than you have ever given,
Do not talk to me of burden,
Do not talk to me,
Do not talk,
Just listen,
There are half a million people out there just waiting for you t die so they can claim they were your best friend and lately I’ve been asking for help,
Lately I’ve been chasing you around fallen trees and you have brandished crucifixes to ward away the devil,
Lately I’ve been thinking about breaking things,
And watching, when so many of them lie like shards of porcelain on the ground,
How many expect me to help.
