When spring time comes...
couples naturally come
together,
lowering
the stress of
finding someone
to go to the dance with

An exothermic reaction
Releasing energy
into the environment
By forming
bonds

But,
with the help of
events such as
jealous ex's
bad grades
losing teams
The couples are
forced
to break

An endothermic reaction
Energy is added
to
break bonds
...
And
hearts

It's the start of the school
year and everyone's
milling about
socializing

Water particles
Milling about
forming
and breaking
hydrogen bonds

There's a group of
new kids,
awkwardly standing
off to the side

A large crystal
of salt
is dumped among
the
water

Some of the old kids
start milling
over pulling
new kids
into
their friend
groups

The water starts
bonding with
individual
ions of salt
positive with negative
negative with positive
pulling them
away
to form
bonds

Eventually all the
new kids are
incorporated into
friend groups

The lattice of salt
is broken apart
...
And all the individual ions
are surrounded
by
new
friends
Known as H2O

What other kind              of creature could divide
Each different thing             into its different sides
With chaos versus             order, dark and light
The stark duality of         wrong and right
We even split the very        world in two
With human versus human,       we and you
But still no matter how much      we divide
Each thing has infinitely many      sides

hopeless romantic
oh, how you shine

ten billion stars
all in your two eyes
when I reach for you
it's zero gravity
nerves like electricity
what covers me, is
ten billion stars tingling
i can feel nothing else
entangling yourself to me
ten billion stars
have shown me
enlightment
oh how i want to love
each and every atom
of every dead star
remember every birth
ten billion is a lot
but here, in this moment
i can taste your worth
I wrote this listening to Day One by Lights and that song feels like *** in the middle of space

The little children stand squished together
in a tight enclosed space
Straight
uniform
But...
squirmy
Unable to be completely still

A solid phase

Then, they start to squirm some more
as their boredom takes over
wriggle
shake
some start coming off
the tightly knit shape
More and more
lose
and open spaces
Until its a shapeless mass of kids
Each with ample space

Liquid phase

Then they get tired of standing around
Some start playing tag
Running about
leaving
wandering
Dispersed
Until finally,
...
The once tightly knit
figure
is simply
a few random kids
zooming around
here and there

Gas phase
The kids were molecules going from a solid to a liquid to a gas phase as energy was being added by the way in case you didn't get it.

butterfly flits by
as winds blow; miles away, a
hurricane is born.
haiku
Chaos theory is a branch of mathematics focusing on the behavior of dynamical systems that are highly sensitive to initial conditions. 'Chaos' is an interdisciplinary theory stating that within the apparent randomness of chaotic complex systems, there are underlying patterns. The butterfly effect describes how a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state, e.g. a butterfly flapping its wings in China can cause a hurricane in Texas.

There are many amino acids
But not nearly as many as there are
people

But,
like us,
humans
They are identical except for one key part
that makes them
intrinsically
completely
unique
Feel free to tell me your opinion. This was a passing thought, even I'm not sure I completely agree. I was sort of thinking of how we are all humans but we are unique as well.

I think it’s silly
And maybe I’m cynical
To wonder
Because to me
Life isn’t a gift
Life isn’t a right
Life isn’t a chance
given to us
The universe was just so
For it to happen
And it did
Weather we are lucky
Or not
One can decide for themselves
But as for me
I don’t want to think of those useless things
It did happen
So I’ll make of it what I will
Do what I want
Short term
Long term
Whatever the case
Not for others
Not for some possible entity living above
But just
For
Me

Three nobles were fleeing
after the monarchy had been overthrown

Three non-polar amino acids were trying to get away
from the polar gel they were on

They were escaping through means of a merchant who dealt with the black market
He gave priority to those who paid a heftier sum

The amino acids were aided by a non-polar liquid solution
The more non-polar the amino acid the higher up the solution could get them

But alas! For the merchant lacked the resources to
get the nobles out of danger

The amino acids all eventually reached the top of the gel sheet
But they would need extra aid to go over the top

And that is my science class
Typical studying is not always the way to go, sometimes you need to think out of the box.

One may be straight
like a saturated fat

One maybe bent
like an unsaturated fat

Or, one could be bent,
disguised as straight
Like a trans fat
Another weird but true science analogy poem. If you don't understand look up the difference between saturated, unsaturated, and trans fats. If this offends you feel free to message me.

There's a mansion on a hill
I've seen it numerous times
But,
I've never been inside

It's said to belong to an old woman
Who is very selective
in who enters her domain

Either you're an insignificant servant
And you slip inside
Through a back door

A tiny molecule diffusing
from high to low concentration

Or, you're a personal servant
Then, you gain special access
Still, through the back door

Water molecule
Diffusing through osmosis

After that are ordinary guests,
aided by the butler
through the front door

Facilitated diffusion
Molecules carried or channeled

And finally,
the VIP's
Welcomed by a great procession
Through a special VIP door
People,
invited by the madam
with great effort

Active transport
From low to high concentration
Requiring added energy

But despite this selectivity
of who can and cannot enter
That old mansion on the hill
And the jobs it provides
Is essential to the livelihood
Of the people in this town

Just like the cell membrane to our bodies
I tried another science analogy one. Personally I like my amino acid and fats ones better but I don't know. We'll see.

Friendship is like
A diapole diapole interaction
Two different
Entities
Positive and negative
Attracted to each other

Best friendship
Is like a hydrogen bond
Still a diapole diapole
but stronger
Only possible in the presence of
A hydrogen
Someone in the relationship
Able to keep it afloat

A London dispersion
Force
Is like a pleasant acquaintance
Someone you get along with
But no strong emotional ties
To hold you there
Just
Small talk

An ion diapole bond
Is like
A difficult relationship
Opposites attract
But you’re bonded
So strongly
...
That eventually one
Of you just starts
To tear the other apart

Like salt in water
