How does it feel like,
To be one of those lights?
Sharing thy brightness,
Very contagious smiles.

Oh, I'm awed and psyched
Wish that I could touch you,
To confirm if you're true
Far from illusive hues

Then stare on your never ending happiness,
That is truly evident in your face.
I wish I could have some too,
Your beauty within the surface.
and you question, "how does she do it!" -
these golden girls are mighty pretty.
but darling don't exclude yourself, haven't you known that the elements are elementary?
now go upstairs and mine in your room.

My time capsule
residing within my chest-
bleeding out for you
Another Haiku, written for those who care for nothing more than to read themselves stupid during isolation.

she falls
she rolls
   she falls again

fragile     forgive
exposed    honest
forward    slowly

raw
    is her skin

paper in this damp salty air

take her with you
when you find her there

warm her
in your hearts fire

warm her
slowly

your gentle wind
will ignite her

resting volcano

she has come apart so many times now
her pieces lay where they may

pain
and
beauty

they are the same now

she is neither

fool
or
wise

woman
or
wildfire

sweet sweet slow learner

uncross your legs
untie
the knots of usury

take hold of the ground beneath you

she is you
she is me

she lives in the smallest of places

she is wild in excess

a fractured heart will blossom within her walls

colourful
vulnerable
willing
learning

slowly
   slowly
      slowly...

A concept of self
strengthens with wealth
The rules they do change
when our histories made
Is perception an image of taste

Where to begin when
the pendulum swings
For all of our sins
start from within
Can we see beyond
our own gates
Does right become
wrong on judgement day

People run behind beauty
Wanting the perfect face
And that perfect smile
It feels like there’s this invisible race.

People starve to be up to the standards
Set by those beauty gurus
‘A little bit of hunger’s okay, right?’
They ask, abide by those awful rules.

What they don’t realise is
That this beauty goes beyond eyes
To the mind and to the heart
Reaching way below the ice.

They don’t realise that they’re
Beautiful just the way they are
And they don’t need to change
And remain the way they already are.

This outer beauty is just a cover
To who the real them there is
Beneath all the fake stuff
They hold the real beauty there is.

Can I be a mirror
To their inner ‘you’?
Do they need a helper
To find a way through?

It’s time that they finally realise
That there is a different rhythm.
There is something much more
Beautiful. It’s the beauty within.
This poem is for those people who need to realise that their inner beauty is the most important.....

"I want to be just like you,"
I say to the decrepid old man.
"Just like you someday."

His laugh is raspy and thin
"My boy," he manages between his coughs,
"What is there left to desire?"

My giggle is the sound of songbirds
and churchbells ringing.

"Your eyes are bright,
they speak of hope and love.
Your mind is sharp,
full of lessons and wisdom.
Your mouth is tilted,
always curved into a slight smile.
Your wrinkles are deep,
laugh lines from years of use."

"But, my boy," he responds
in a gentle tone,
"My body is weak,
my hair is grey,
my brain forgetful,
and my money is none."

"And yet," I press,
"your gaze is soft,
your regrets are few,
your patience endless,
and your forgiveness infinite."

"And because of that," I conclude, "I want to be just like you."
As cheesy as it sounds, always look for the beauty within.

Find the light masked by vision,
Hidden within;
With unseen precision

Unravel the tale,
see through the lies;
The act

Observe closely,
As not to miss it;
A  glimpse of the hidden

The beauty within;
Hiding from the world
Can be found ;
With closer inspection

Ask a question
Tell a truth
Share a secret

Be open
Share  light with the surrounding darkness

Tell the tale of the flower;
Though it may seem bright,
There are many untold sequences
That help it to thrive

Use metaphors to convey a past,
Show what shall be seen,
Shine through at last
To  tell the tales of what was once unseen
I was kinda inspired by "A Fault in Our Stars" By John Green...though that may seem cheesy...
I wasn't expecting the ending, but the book is based off of a true story, so I suppose that just adds to how real it all is.

My hands,
So thin and frail,
Shudder.

My mind,
So full of fury,
Shakes.

My heart,
So broken and lost,
Trembles.

Sharp claws,
Dripping with hate and anger,
Rip free from skin,
A whisper in the darkness.

Fanged teeth,
Promising pain and vengeance,
Spring free from gums,
A slither in the darkness.

Dark fur,
Roaring of a beast,
Grow free of pores,
A hiss in the darkness.

My hands clench,
My mind crumbles,
My heart thunders,
Because the darkness..is me.

At last,
After years of battling that shadow,
I have succumbed...
To that monster within.
