don’t be gentle with her
she lives with the whirlwind in her mind
changes as the ocean hold her tight
the waves crashes her bones
filling her lungs
up to her throat
you see roses and thorns

don’t be gentle with her
she wear her mending hearts on her sleeve
shattering your walls as you cup her cheeks
cracking cold air while you kiss her lips

Rolling power:
      Churning waves
      Grinding shells,
Prolific evidence of life & death
      Rising from salt depths,
Epic revelations from below.

Evidence of end games:
     Shells, drilled, scarred, scored
     By beaks of tendrilled monsters;
     Occupants devoured,
****** through ravaged carapaces.

Fecund progeny:
    Tiny messages, these shells...
    Evidencing life,
    Echoing death,
Generations grinding down and down.

My tanned bare feet,
    Track tide-lined shells,
     Seek forensic evidence and beauty,
     Follow ribbons of shells
Cast empty from the pounding sea.
Grim thoughts of a new sheller....

It was a beautiful day
The sun was out
The sea breeze
And the crashing waves

I was raring for a dip
And I was curious
I was drawn
Like newly hatched turtles
To the sea

I can’t recall
The exact moment
I felt the tingling sensation
Of the saltwater
On my sole

It was fun, at first
The contrast of
The cold water
And my warm legs
Yin and yang

Dazed, I went forward
On and on and on
I was clamoring for the cold
Even if the sea
Didn’t seem to mind

The water was up ’til my chest
But I didn’t notice it then
The waves were higher
Hitting me more regularly
Like clockwork

The water was up ’til my nose
I couldn’t breathe
Well, I did but it was
All water

I try to go back
But the currents pull me in
And then I realized
I was in too deep

Standing there,
on the cold, damp sand
in the open air.

Hearing the gush of the waves
Crash against the rocks
and roll onto the shore
-Gently kissing your feet.
The Coldness is overpowered
by the emotions and relief within.

The light finally begins to rise,
The skies grow a blissful blue-
in contrast to the regular, deeply darkened grey;
mirroring the colour within your mind.

Feeling your hair ****** forward
along with the black crow-
The long residing and awaiting crow.

The final release,
Resulting in the return of
light, tranquility, and peace.

The final release
of this Dead Weight
-constantly on your shoulder,
Weighing down on your chest,
and fluttering throughout your mind.

---

The final release
freeing you from this
Godawful, hell of a disease.
When I was a kid
my father taught me
how to swim
So I could not drown
When the waves pull me
with them
And so I learned,
Now whenever people
Try to pull me down,
I do not sink
Just keep swimming.

I've sat once again
at the foot of my mother's old typewriter
journals of ideas scattered at my feet

The letter A is missing
I never realised the effect of one letter
the ripples it causes in an ocean
How it changes my writing, what I need to say

I dreamt of waves a few nights ago
At first they terrified me
but as they reached me
they were gentle and soft
welcoming like an old friend greeting me with a hug

I hope he is my missing letter
The ripples and waves in my ocean
and when he is not around
I am without

Like the waves,
Who ebb and flow,
Like the shells,
With colours galore,
Like the trees,
And where they grow.

There is one thing,
That you should know,
You are always,
Where you're meant to be,
Who you're meant to be,
Save yourself,
From the sorrow.

Waves are crashing on a sunny day,
my love for you grows day by day.
Leaves are falling; autumn wind,
my soul is falling without a hint.
Colder than the winter snow,
my heart is freezing, you didn't know.
The spring will come,
our flower will bloom;
an endless cycle, we'll be home soon.
He lives in days
I live in decades
His world in constant change
My world struggles to be sane

The master of his ship
Unbothered by the sea
I am the waves, the current
All the chaos underneath

How incompatible are we
Only now I've come to see
He was made for adventure
But he was not made for me

He can tolerate the harshness
He can understand my depth
But tolerance is still not love
Or else he wouldn't have left

Our paces are mismatched
They cannot intertwine
How do I catch up to him
If his pace outruns mine

His seconds are my moments
So little that he forgets
Locked beneath my trenches
Like a buried treasure chest
