got all these voices in my head
and monsters in my bed
and memories of words and things
i can't recall i said
It's one of those nights,
When your mind can't stop its chatter
And even the whiskey tastes like water.
I'm in dire need of a whiskey lullaby to put these voices in my head to sleep.

Do you know what it's like
Not knowing what's fake
And what's real
Sitting all alone in a dark room
Shaking
Having creatures tear open your skin
Yet not having a mark on you
Hearing voices screaming
Pounding on the walls
Yet being in complete and utter silence
No you don't
So shut the **** up

I mustn’t speak
or the monsters will creep
I must’ve bled
they sent vultures to keep
I wish i could speak
about what my mind leaks
bury my eyes under my cheeks
they sneak a creak
i am too scared to peek
i wish i could speak
of all that i fear
but my voice i cant hear
and so i disappear
theres a knock at the door
my heart hits the floor
my back against the wall
i still feel someone behind
there is someone in my mind
this room'ss key i can't find
everyone lied,
i must hide
the flower that died
and the child abide
though her spine
spiked with sharp edges
and still!
she mustn’t speak.

Hold me closer
I feel like I'm losing myself
I feel I'm getting colder
As I grow older
I realise my life has no order
Or maybe it has
I'm just not the controller
-
Hold me closer
I feel my heart becoming colder
I don't see the need to cry on someone's shoulder
I write down my feelings hoping for some closure
People think I do poetry for exposure
Really I'm just trying to numb the pain
And keep the tears away
-
Hold me closer
For years I've been called a loser
Now I'm stuck with the voices in my head
I want them to shut up so bad
Just so that I could go to bed

Dear Diary.
These voices are trying me
They don't want to go down silently
I feel them becoming violent
They want release the monster inside of me

Dear Diary
I'm becoming someone I'm not
Dear Diary
I think I'm losing myself
Dear Diary
I'm gone.

when I'm mad, there are no mess-ups
but one
I'm trying to explain
why do I resent
the fact
you
don't see me trying

J
it's hard to listen when I'm angry
I don't know you-?
You don't know me.
You know my stories and my ****** reactions
"I get that"
no, you don't
you don't get me
no one does
I'm losing myself
while you find yourself
I feel I can't say anything anymore
I can't say **** about you
I can't talk about my ex
I get shunned
you twist my words around
make it into something it's not
I try my hardest to stay on a good track
but God
sometimes
I wanna rip my arm open
but that's hard
hard because everyone else around me does
and I'm trying to prove
I'm stronger than that
I try to be stronger
laughing
laughing
laughing
God, shut up.
shut up.
I laugh and laugh but it isn't funny.
but if I'm not funny
you won't love me

quiet.

we haven't talked just listen to your music

is that wrong?
is it?
is it bad that that's the only way that things come out of my mouth?
they whisper
I turn it up
they scream,
I blare
is it wrong that the voices don't stop

my mind is something you will never understand
but it's okay
I don't either
whatever makes
me
happy
you hate?
I know you have weird moods
so do i
so I guess I can't say much
sometimes J
just sometimes.
i

my whole life I've been shut down,
now by you too
I love you
but
the more we talk
the more that
I question your stories about
cheating and
being toxic
I doubt that
changed for me

everyone knows about your cps cases
and your grandfather

okay so I tell you things no one knows

but you tell me things everyone knows

quiet

silence
...
it's always had my back
but anyways
that shouldn't matter.

I'll just stay quiet.

**NOT MINE, MADE BY MY GIRLFRIEND, I JUST WROTE IT DOWN AS SHE WAS TALKING
my girlfriend read this to me. she was upset about something I did(I know what I did, I was telling her about my ex again and she had every right to be ******* about it) So while she was talking and reading it, I typed it out so that I could think about it. We're on the phone, still, even after she's read it as if nothing happened. She thought that we would break up over it, that we would break up because she believed those words were things to break up for. I'm shaking a little bit. A lot of bit. She said "I knew that it would upset you." I'm trying very hard not to act upset. I think that maybe I really am the toxic one. I've been working on something for her recently, about how much I love her, but that doesn't mean much, does it? I think maybe I'm stupid. I think maybe I should be the one to stay quiet. For what it's worth, I'm sorry Sydney.

I walk alone down an empty hall.
I hear the voices behind me.
Every step I take they become louder and louder;
I quicken my pace.
My footsteps echo around me
As my feet hit the floor.
Bang.
Bang.
Bang.
With every step, they grow louder.
With every step, the voices scream.
They scream until I can no longer hear the footsteps.
They scream telling me to stop.
I reach the door...
My hand rests on the rusted golden ****.
My breath catches in my throat,
I can feel as my hands become clammy, and
Sweats comes down my forehead in beads.
My eyes dart from side to side-
The voices still screaming.
"You can't leave"
"You won't go"
Voicing my doubts and insecurities.
They scream inside my head!
They yearn to tear me down;
To create this void of darkness that I am constantly trapped in.
Oh, that void,
A place of emptiness;
Full of darkness.
A place where the voices thrive-
Picking up on every single thing
And using it all against me.
A place that I refuse to go back to.
So, as my eyes focus on the rusted ****
My hand reaches out.
I stretch my fingers and clasp them around it.
Feeling the coldness of the metal shock my body.
I rotate my hand 90 degrees,
The **** creaks and groans as the door is opened.
Automatically I swing the door open
I hear the voices start to quiet.
I take one step,
Then two,
Then three.
I breathe in the fresh air;
My lungs fill up.
A cloud of smoke appears as I release the air trapped inside.
I start to walk,
Leaving my anxiety-ridden mind behind.

Words that disappears;
Voices that can't be heard;
When time feels frozen;
They comfort you, as you walk through fear.
Janna Orpa Nov 2020
The voices in my head that were once just whispers are the only thing I now hear.
They are no longer whispers.
They have taken over.
My thoughts are now playing on a loudspeaker in a loop!
They block out everything that’s happening around me
and I am now just a vessel that’s breathing.
