He was a rat, she was a rat
down in one hole we did dwell
both were as pale as a witch's cat
they loved each other well.

He had a tail, she had a tail
both long and fine
each said 'yours is the finest tall
in the world, except for mine.'

He smelt the cheese, she smelt the cheese,
they both said it was good.
both remarked it would greatly add
to the taste of our daily food.

He went out, she went out,
I saw them go with pain
what happened to them i never can tell
for they never came back again.

Wet pavement shining
tail-lights like rockets flaring
cars fly down the road.
Written on March 30th 2013 this was inspired by the way the light reflects off the wet pavement looking like a rocket flare going straight down beneath the car

I’m not sure what brought me to look up
but i saw a lady red tail, perched atop the elm by the bus stop,
With her head tucked under her wing, probably as cold as I was.
I’ve only ever seen them with entrails in their mouth,
at conservations and public gardens, among masses of tourists,
and maybe their shadows in the top floor of the castle
where i attended boring freshman classes.
Once in the car driving up to the capital with my cousin-
they’re said to be common though.
Lady was different- she was small and seemed docile
not unlike the fluffy little birds that made homes
in the bricks at the station,
making themselves bigger for warmth.
I stopped in my tracks and stared, then looked around for someone to share her with-
but everyone looked awfully busy.

Another lap around this body,
Downing the tail like a snake.
I can not seem to find the end,
Is this karma or is this fate?

Creeped up on me,
Like lichen up a tree.
Spread like frost,
Over a bedroom window.
The pain came fast,
And the death is coming slow.

I enter out and exit in,
Downing the tail like a snake.
I am going back in again,
Is this karma or is this fate?

I stared too far into the abyss,
Dived too deep into it’s depths.
It burnt a crater in my mind,
Making a home in the space inside.

I turn my inner eye to see the trail you left behind,
Searching for the beginning and the end.
I can’t tell the distance you will take from me,
But I know it is a poison that is killing me.

I’ve wasted too much time,
Hating you,
When I should have been,
Embracing you.
I pull the tail a little out my throat,
Every time I step towards forgiving you.

Marry me
Marry me
My shining beauty

Dance with me
Dance with me
On this spinning merry go round

I am a fairie
And you are a wizard
Together we make magic
In a world thats a blizzard

Shine with me
Shine with me
On top the moonlit sea

Run away
Run away
Together into the forest

I'll twinkle my wings
As you wave your wand
I'll never lose your reflection
In this glistening pond

When a dog chases it’s tail,
Does it get bored after it catches it?
Or does it hang on tight,
Running circles through the night?

If I chase you again,
Will you continue to run?
Run away forever,
Some sick idea of fun?

And if I become as fast as light,
Will I be the dog that hangs on tight?
Or will I too get bored,
And leave your life fragmented and ignored?
I would give up feeling sad if my cat would chase it’s tail

I saw a cat
outside my window;
decided to write a poem
about that.
It's big yellow eyes stared up at me
and it's long, black tail
looked like a rats'.
I thought that if I'd look long enough,
I'd start to talk to about stuff.
It looked like it
knew so much about love,
his eyes were flying like a dove.
I stared at it
for a while longer,
every minute getting closer
                                            and closer.
I stepped outside,
gently opening my hand.
The cat came closer
and started chewing at what I gave him.
His gently purr
relaxed me
and there we were,
sitting together like we were
friend forever.
I felt like I really needed to write something about the cat outside my window, plus I was kinda board. Hope you enjoyed this! :)

Jim was a man from the country
he rode horses around a big fun tree
the horses would buck, which was really bad luck
cause poor Jim cracked his coccyx abruptly!
