The word slips. A sound
that can resonate for a lifetime;
A diminished sense of purpose
is replenished in that solitary tone,
as the days spent in mourning
join everything else that has since expired.

The reason has long left
my train of thought
- woven by past joy and present longing
- which distorts and twists
until the word fits
comfortably in the empty room.

A canvas grazed once by colour
can never again be pure;
Such is the mind of a self-saboteur;
sensitive to all but myself.
Afraid to ask for help
to drown out that word

and chase my reprieve,
as the bare walls
which bear my regrets
pick me apart
piece by piece.

The other side of the moon
is not dark as it is said
It’s not mean nor have ever been
It’s not red nor grey
It’s not yellow or blue
It’s real as you and me
It aches as we do
Because it’s the other
Not the one we could see

The other side of the moon
Is what makes me wonder
When I see into your eyes
From an inch of space
Between our naked souls
And it’s not the eyes
that make me wonder
It’s not your words
that make me stronger
It’s the silence in between
That wakes me up from the dream

Where the moon and I dance around
Where the dark and light it’s all the same
Where front and back doesn't matter
Where you have just one face
And not a hundred from which you choose
And there are no lies that make me lose
The fight of love
The fight of freedom
The fight for truth against your demons

The other side of the moon
Is what makes me feel close to you
Though I cannot see it
I am sure it’s part of you

Grass is Greener*

Someone with one foot in, one foot out,
These days what relationships are about.
Find something meaningful, magical and rare,
Stick with that person, don't go anywhere.
The skies the same color wherever you go,
Fall for one person, dance to and fro.
Make it count, you only get one life,
Don't fill it with heartache, difficult love, and strife.
See happiness in one person and be true,
Stay together, do the work, see it through.
A lover, a best friend, someone in to confide,
The grass is not always greener on the other side.

One half wants air
The other to drown
One remembers joy
The other only frowns

Split and torn
By love and hate
Tempting time
And teasing fate

One must win
And one must lose
I hate to say
But you must choose

I don't care what people think
If I am a ******* or a fool
I want to say I love you.

Even if you can't love me
the way I do cause you love her
I'm just a fool falling for you

But I am not asking
For you to love me back
Because you can't

I'm sorry from being brat
But can't help it I'm jealous
Even if I have no rights

Cause your not mine to loose
And it kills me every time
Facing those facts though its hard

But its okay at least you are smiling
I prefer it than your your tears
Maybe I'm not meant for you.

Maybe I'm meant for someone
Maybe I'm destine to love you
Just to knew the meaning of love.

That the books can't explained
It is from a personal experience.
I want to thank you from that.

But before I could get over you
I just want you to know.
I love you even if you aren't mine.
Its all about one sided love. A girl who fell in love with a boy who can't love her back. I hope you try to read it. And thank you :))

Come, stand by my side
No, there is no need to hide

Look at the world, sonny
It is not as bad, or not as funny

So much strange it may seem
But you can always find the gleam

The sunshine resides in your heart
Let it come out now & illuminate

Cautiously, take care of your feelings
Suppress them, do not let them be exposed

We meet for afternoon coffee
For this I reckon
I would fancy a waffle with it.

How are you?,
The first sentence of the last conversation about me and you.

While dipping a piece of my waffle
In the whipped cream
I did not order,
I have a thought.

We have never been
More than a side dish;
Like a waffle I would
Every so often ask for.

To sweeten this life
I require more.

I still prefer to take
My coffee black, as plain as my heart.

I live in the East
You live in the West
I roll to the right
You lean to the left

You watch the game,
I text my friends for fun.
You write every day,
What awaits me is always unsung.

I'm one that loves vanilla
While you prefer your chocolate
You live life in the open
I tend to close and lock it

I like the night,
You await the morning.
My sunsets, purple and pink,
Your sunrise has orange hues adorning.

I'm early to bed early to rise
You never seem to close your eyes
These days I'm moving rather slow
As you're always on the go

You have your coffee with cream,
I have my Kombucha tea.
You grill up some steaks to eat,
I say pass the salad to me.

Though we're miles apart
In differences between
Commonality we definitely
Have in our love of poetry

Thanks for sticking around through my bit of absence, you guys. I'm still writing. Take care, all!

She was an afterthought,
Like salad,on the side
Like a footnote to a long letter,
Like curry leaves to gravy,
Like the dregs at the bottom of a cup of tea,
Like the second man on the moon,
She was an afterthought,
Always a step behind,
Always a second choice,
Never sought after or valued,
Neither loved nor cherished,
Like a faded old photograph,
Like an out of tune guitar gathering dust in the attic,
She was an afterthought,
Quickly replaced, easily forgotten and never remembered

Often, in mornings, I wake by your side.
                                               A magnetic field pulses from your core;
summoning beats from my heart in its sleepy haze.
Mesmerised, I fold into you, pulled
                                                                                                                                                    to the right;

Nudged onto my side, by blood
rushing to be close to you.
