Nights will be rainy
When you're a lonely lady
Whose shelter is the poem
At night writes at 2  a.m
Nights will be rainy
When you're stand on a navy
That takes you to the Island
Saddest part, you have no land

please do not smother me

                 smothering implies force
           it implies suppression
       aggression
    oppression
  Or asphyxiation
it is something not being wanted

instead engulf me in your love
let me be immersed in it
cradle me in it
Coddle me
shelter me

                        let me breathe

                              So i can appreciate it
and feel it all around me
that makes it so much better
      ever so soft
      ever so loving
      ever so gentle

I understand why you want to smother

                                 i do

                          but you’re somebody
                     you’re important
                You’re love is important
the best thing you can give along with       your time.
   It’s valuable,
so you shouldn’t give it if it is not unwanted

                           even to me

Or at least don’t make it a habit with anyone
                you see
        because you are too precious
    and valuable
    and important
    but thank you

                                I do
I appreciate the gesture and the thought.
                     I do
I want your love but not like that
           just not that way
       just not by suffocation
I want to be engulfed in it

                     there’s a difference

It’s hard to keep myself together
When the world keeps pulling me apart
sheltered myself from pain
Hid behind a guarded heart

I just want someone brave enough
To scale these walls
Someone to catch me
When I inevitably fall

I need someone
To look me in the eye
And knows when I say
“I’m fine” its a lie

Please care enough
To save me from myself
Care about my physical
And my mental health

The world is cruel
But I am still here
I just need someone
Before I disappear

A thousand dreams woven
beneath the feet of hard working
                                         reflections.
But nothing ventured forth,
like a corpse of bricked virtues
the land didn't give birth to life.

Only bricks of contemplation were
        built, and they were vacant
of any substance. For what is built
had nothing to fill it only ideals.

For earth that shelter one,
will endeavour to show no yield.
And only vacant ideals stand where
                   crops have faulted on brick..

I am living in a house
Made of fleshy blocks
Costlier than golds
Not because it is cost
But this man in the building
refuses to be bought
His choice of substantive intake
Rotten tomatoes or fresh tomatoes
it is the shelter of slaves
It is the guile of the law

day’s dagger struck deep,
hot,white, blood splashes on  earth;
run to night’s shelter!

Your heart is too big for your chest
And your hands tremble and shake
And I know you carry my heart on your palm,

I know it's too much to ask
Too much to take in
Too much to take in your pretty little world
But I ask you this once

Create a hearth in your heart for me
Create a nest in your mind for me
Protect me and shield me from danger
From the outside world
From myself

                                                                                               - Shelter me
Electric sun twirls its lava skirt.
Slammed woks.
Peanuts, chilli, limes and oil
Feeding him its lunch.
Shelter to chilli cheeks and peppercorn faces.
The air can't move its obese body to the rivers for a dip.

Darkness is hard with sturdy edges.
Curtains made of invisible beads and threads hang over the night in silence.
They spill against the concrete under rough hooves and feet
For the night falls like tight heavy lids.
Dusk is a bruised tunnel of vision.

Candlelit giants blinking rapidly.
You don't speak
For the night is never empty
The silence never lonely
Stampede of restlessness surrounding
Grinning from squint to squint
Raising embraces and chance encounters
They scream loudly to frighten the dawn.

I found a place,
I found a home.
Within these halls
I can freely roam.

I heard the whispers
and endless calls;
I found a home
inside these walls.

Where letters roam
these open doors;
I let my voice
flow evermore.

A shelter from the outside storm.
A shelter where I found a home.
A place to share my love for poems.
A place where I can freely roam.
There's nothing as beautiful as finding a place where you belong, a place where you can hide from the storm of life and find beauty in streams of letters.

i am broken and bruised,
there's a scar in my heart
that's really difficult to erase.

i'm longing for a hug,
a warm embrace,
that could comfort me.

and then, i found you,
someone who i can rely on,
you're my shelter from the rain.

i found you,

my home.
