There were several hundred of us
And we were marching up the street.
We could hear some of the curses
We did not consider defeat.
We were lawfully assembling there
Though the custom  bade us not.
The time had come, we would not stop
We would strike while the iron was hot.

It was the one-year anniversary
Of rebellion against unfair laws
And there were many thousands of us
There to rally for a righteous cause.
We intended to show them all
What social freedom can mean.
And it was all started a year before
By some righteous, rebellious queens.

We were respectful and orderly
As we formed the parade
It was seen to that all permits
Were properly secured and made.
There were some simple floats
And choirs and groups
That were marching together
In Hollywood's traditional
And pleasant summer weather.

The police stood by, many deep
To be sure we **** behaved.
And so we all mostly did
So nobody ended in a grave.
We didn't hear of anyone
Being hustled into the lockup.
Forgive the pun, but it went down
Without much of a cockup.

TV was there, but not a horde,
And we got thirty seconds later.
We were pretty sure that alone
Would stimulate the haters.
To see us gays holding hands
And kissing in the street.
We were sure it would bring
Bigots at home to their feet.

But we didn't care, we had done
What even we didn't expect.
We got Hollywood and society
To look at us with respect.
Things started to change then
In California and everywhere.
We were here and we were queer
And no longer easy to scare.
Rain strike
and struggle
her arms
where martyr
take a
fascination with
law only
formulate tragedy
and redeem
forthright her
ideology to
illuminate logic
in place
as territorial
waters grant
gospel ready
bright reform.

It's Friday
It's pay day
It's time to go get me
Another AR-15
So I can go shoot the breeze
You can't tell me that it's wrong
The 2nd amendment has been around way too long
For you to croon your gun control song

Don't matter what you've got to say
When I've got the NRA on my side
Supporting MY life
But don't worry
If anything, you should be proud
Because the NRA says
No Regulations Allowed!

I don't get why you're so upset
I studied gun safety once
Eight years back
So I got your girl Teresa's back
No, like, I literally just shot her in the back
There's blood everywhere!
Don't scream, I'm telling you because I care

Oh, don't look at me like t h a t
Accidents happen all the time
I'm perfectly capable of handling this gun
You're just out to take me rights
And steal my fun!

Uhm, but forreal could you watch your tone?
I know you care about Teresa
But what about how I feel?
My masculinity isn't set to "criticism permitted" mode
It's on "gun control prohibited" mode
Say anymore and I'll have to go

I'm not gonna lie, the second amendment makes me come alive
Even as other people continue to die
I guess you could say I'm a real guy's guy

Anyways, just because Teresa got hurt
That doesn't mean that gun control would work
Why don't you just consult the CDC
You'll see, they'll side with me
And, no, it's not a funding thing
It's a freedom thing
If anything, you should be proud
Don't be shy, come along now
Support the NRA
No Regulations Allowed!

We are happiness we are pain
We are the sunshine and the rain
We are here to remove the stain
Of the elite
Complete
The ideal defeat
Without violence without harm
Let's do it with love let's do it with charm
We have to get the people to listen
We have to show them what is bliss and
How to achieve it
How to receive it
How to believe it
And pass it on
In poems, in speech, in art, in song
We are given these gifts
To cause a rift
In reality
So people can see
That they're living a lie
That they're willing to die
There's a more beautiful way
There's something powerful to say
We have to show them how to make it stay
So we don't have to learn this lesson again
That we are God, the universe and it's beneath our skin
We hold the answers and the truth;

We have to be brave we have to be loud
But be as gentle and adaptable as a cloud
We can't fly away
Until we teach people the way
We're here to ascend
Whether it's by ourselves or with a friend
It's written in the stars and only some can read it
We bring it to earth and then we seed it
Plant it in the ground and make it grow
Have it show
Everyone what they need to know

i am fire,
bright,
but fast burning,
and you are steel,
strong,
but cold,
when we come in contact,
we make something new,
we both reform,
into something more,
Anyways

You know how the saying goes
"When the people are ready,
The Master will appear"
Well, I think the people are ready
For someone to emerge,
And save us from our fear

It's time for a new revolution
One that doesn't end in blood
But who will wear the mask?
And who will bear the sword?
And will they be the hero that we need?

Will you ride the black Andalusian?
Will you leave your mark across the land?
Will you guide us through the night,
Can you be the dawning light?
The time has come to make a stand

The New World hangs in the air
Swinging by a thread above an ocean of despair
And our fate rests in the hands of Father Time
And our own will to leave our children a better life

So will you ride the black Andalusian?
Will you leave your mark across the land?
Will you guide us through the night,
Can you be the dawning light?
The time has come to make a stand

Will you draw a line in the sand?
Overtly about social change. Covertly about Zorro.

we're bombarded by the American Dream
but what we fail to realize
is that to dream, you have to be asleep
but remember, your soul is your own to keep

False consciousness runs rampant through the world
Ninety percent of American media owned by the same
five companies makes TV and the news seem so mundane
but when I think, I realize it's all of us to blame

the only power the system has is what we give
we need to let go of hate, and let live
when in Rome you step outside your comfort zone,
and when you expand your horizons,
the whole world can make you feel alone,

what I've come to realize is there is so much more than this
when we die all of our fear gives way to bliss
and on that spiritual transformation we can let go of what we miss
In each of our crowns lies the infinite
and we know that it doesn't matter, all the petty ****

According to Marx, economy is the root of society
and in capitalism, our thirst for money is ironic and funny
We seek to provide for ourselves and those we love
but when we have to much, the hand doesn't fit the glove

In every cellphone, laptop, and gaming device
lies a mineral mined behind our blind eyes
tantalum is mined in the Congo, and in 2000
people were forced from their poor housing
to mine this mineral so you and I
could get a ps2 from Santa, while they barely got by

I've learned even the poorest here,
Have opportunities barely realized,
We can change the world if we dismantle disguise
There is a balance for everything,

You can't have capitalism without socialism,
our social structure is but a prism
I'm going to edit this one a bunch because there is so much to be said and I have so much inspiration for this poem. I hope you guys like it, and if you couldn't tell it's really politically motivated #feelthebern

Your journey does not change you,
it only shapes you.
With your broken pieces and all.
You reform yourself
using your pieces.
To become,
who you are
to be.

Ebbing through the haze
Overshadowing the little ones
Clawing at the backs of the elders
Whispering thoughts into the ears
of the impressionable naive ones
Silently beckoning all those
with the need for release
Eagerly awaiting a chance
To make a difference
To have a voice
To bring upon a change
