It's raining today and
The rain falls in
Rhythmic display and
It's a bitter cold day and
The pitter patter sound
Makes a sweet lullaby splash and it
Has washed all my worries away.
It's Raining 🌧️☔

How blue the iris grew.
How grey the clouds gathered.
As oak leaves wandered in the wind,
melancholia rushed through my vein.

How high the crows soar.
How loud the crickets chirped.
As windows slammed in the wind,
melancholia rushed through my vein.

How loftily the sky roars.
How quickly the gale moves.
As the willow whirled in the wind,
melancholia rushed through my vein.

How the birds hurry home.
How the plants await the rain.
As my eyes ambled around them,
melancholia rushed through my vein.

How the lightning flashed
and how the thunder crashed.
As i walk through my pale garden,
melancholia rushed through my vein.

How heavy my heart.
How dreary the scenery.
As the gods wept upon me,
melancholia rushed through my vein.

How it eclipse my tears.
How wholly it devoured me.
As i look upon my ephemeral life,
melancholia rushed through my vein.

Be the raindrops that fall from the sky,
That brings peace and tranquility to my mind,
Be the clouds from up above that shade me from the harsh sun,
Associate yourself with the beautiful dew that brings vibrant green to the plants,
Be the calm after the storm that restores peace in my heart and the land,

Smile like the rainbow when the clouds part,
Let in soft rays from the sun as the grey fades,
And most importantly,
Remind me of the rain.

From a window up high
I can hear the rain
Drumming down
Grey
Sloshing through streets and
Ruining leather shoes

Children scream in delight
And scatter
Running with their school bags or jackets
Up over their heads
Some not even bothering
No umbrellas
Revelling in their drenched clothes
Water dripping down their noses

And I think about how
It happens one day -
You start to step over puddles
Instead of jumping in them
We grace the sky by keeping sane and alive,
So it's not protecting a barren land,
And retains it's purpose,
Although my lifelessness would encourage,
A deserted deceased body,
Over a lifeless one,
Do I have the right to despise the tarnish in the monsoon sky?
The flowers and rain,
The ceaseless beauty of this land makes me sick,
Neither am I right full to chase it nor have it,
I have been bleeding while only noticing the beauty of my blood,
With its throbbing pain going unnoticed,
Because it's all I have been allowed to see,
My nature propells me to admire what I see,
My feeble cry of destain,
Abolished by the thundering sound of the rain,
I have successfully pursued your hate,
Yet,
I am not satisfied.

I like to sit beneath my open-aired pergola,
That I may listen to the
Gentle pitter-patter of rain droplets
Softly colliding against the aluminum,
While the wettened ground breathes, and
Fills the air with a delightful
Earthy fragrance.

I have so often wondered why the rose in the yard kept being a rose when everyone else is a dandelion,
or why it would recite light when midnight is still in the land’s arms.

When the spring rages,
and the rain dry of its songs,
when the colors are famished
of their sky,
when the stars abed fail to rise,
this rose is unfazed.
ever flamboyant on the stage,
gliding gracefully on ebony ice,
this rose has a will of a cactus.

The storm that once
overtook my soul ceases,
a soft zephyr taking its place.

I gaze above as the Sun
reaches its zenith;
away from all the chaos
I yearn to leave behind.

All that could be heard now,
were the echoes of blazing thunder,
blurred into the faded hums
of a lullaby I once cherished.
Would closing my eyes urge the rain to continue pouring?
