I feel oil burn my
Belly; If I could hug the
World, I'd never let go.
Can you hear the planet cry too?

the first time you said I love you was on Valentines day.
On the way back to my house, on a winding street lined with pine trees
You said it as a joke, and that's why I laughed

the second time you said I love you was when we were on your living room floor
vinyls upon vinyls with the wrapping all around us
this time I just ignored it and gave a tight smile

the third time you said I love you it was attached to a quick goodbye on the phone
I hung up before I could react and dropped to the floor right after

because how the **** could you ever love me and not know about the planet of skeletons I have in my closest?
you never seen my bad days or my worst days
you don't know the way I light up and the way I fade away
you don't know the voices in my head or the numbers on my arm dialing a phone home
hell, you don't even know what that means

you can't love me because you don't even know that I'm a planet
you can't love me because you don't know that I gave up being a human a long time ago
and you can never love me because you'll never understand why

I’m a planet.

I, like them, feel surrounded.

Surrounded and Isolated.

How is that even possible?

I used to think being alone was hard.

Now I realize that I feel alone in a room full of people,

and that’s even harder.

I worry my planet is missing something.

Missing the will to keep moving.

But I know that I must, for I am a planet that will not burn out.

And we held each other as we weeped for our earth.
Our mother.
Mother nature, she gave birth to us and watches us as society hurts us, neglects us, and abuses us.
Feeling her tears in the rain, and her pain in the cold wind, her worry within the brewing storms, and discomfort in the scorching sunshine.
We take comfort in one another knowing someday things will get better my beautiful sister
And no longer will we cry tears for our mother's creations.
For our mother's home.
For our bodies that the world is destroying.

A little child on father's knee
Looked up at him with hope
She really wanted for to see
Through his telescope

He bent the lens down toward her
So she could place her eye
Then directed the tube upward
So she could see the sky

She saw a sphere with mighty rings
Another with a spot
But a strange and awful planet
Gave her pause and thought

For it was black and yellow
A putrid sort of green
She'd seen dwarf stars
But this, by far,
Was the ugliest she'd seen!

"What is this one, daddy?"
The girl asked, quite perplexed
He put his eye upon the lens
And saw why she was vexed.

"Well, my little daughter
There lived a warlike race
They were mean, and didn't seem
To see their world's grace

So they just destroyed it
Now it has no worth
We call it Garbage Planet
Once it was called Earth"

So from her single eye
She shed a single tear
And shook her oval head
Her father drew her near

"Don't worry my darling
Don't worry in the least
That warish race is gone now

and now we are at PEACE."

If discovering the planetary body
Where you found your home
Would mean that I get to see you again

Then I would
March through stars
Dance on asteroids and
Befriend moons
Until I'd find you
Until we see again.

What if the aliens are us
Or we are them
And we were somewhen forced to forget all that
What if humankind is not from here
If we are not original from here
What if we are from a different place,  a planet we have once destroyed
And then we came to Earth
And now we're destroying it as well
'Cause that's just how the humanoid aliens are
And sometime soon in future, we will leave this place
We will settle somewhere else, thinking that's where we belong
And we'll destroy that planet too

If I am a planet
then you are my sun
my centre
my light
you keep me safe
grounded
without you I drift
you are comfort
you are warmth
you sustain me
my sunshine

Ever since you left I've been falling asleep to this song
that I've started calling ours, and when you get back
home I hope you know we're going away to Mars to
live with the stars because **** this planet I'm tired of
us being apart.
Rhymes. Goodnight.

Fragile rock left floating through,
it sways to and fro,
among-st the abyss of the universe.
Shimmering dots paint pictures in our sky's,
visionary imaginations of what might lie beyond.
But Before we venture out,
we must repair what we have.
Tilting on the scales of life,
we hang steady in the balance.
