Hundred green parrots,
On a tamarind treetop;
Sit in dense silence!
Rakib Dec 2018
She's burning the cigarettes
Smoking one too many tabs
Clasping her lips lightly
As if taking care of the flab

She has her spirit visibly loud
Walking down on the street
Flaunting her grey jacket and orange nikes
Crafting a steady smile sweet

There's a strangeness in her love
Passion that blooms through contagious
My mind in awe of her art
Worshiping the physique tenacious

Portuguese like Diamond
Her composition rhetorical
Mysterious in nature, living as she wills
To know her is to own a coracle

I met a mystery
An auburn eyed chance
I met him in the afternoon
begin the labour of dance

He spoke in my language
Fed me familiar words
In that summer
There was a shift in our worlds

I met a mystery
He knew how to charm
His soft touch
On the tender of my arm

The calmness of the evening
My life just short of fright
The harsh striking of the day
But you were the night

I met a mystery
And it had been months
When we sat together again
words lifted from our tongues

It seems so easy
Plain sailing calm seas so true
But time would go by
And I wouldn't see you

I met a mystery
Resting in the shade of a tree
In the soft of the earth
he spoke to me

He told me his dreams
His voice so kind
He told me he loved me
I thought it was lies

I met a mystery
He showed me his heart
Everything he said and did
Didn't fall short from art

He had forgotten my words
But i remembered his fate
I now love the mystery
But i think it is too late

Maybe it was a dream, maybe not, I can't remember now
Walking homeward across town
Suddenly there came this fog in from the sea
It covered the harbour and the streets, enveloping everything
   so it seemed
A fog so thick...so dense, I'd never seen its like before
All you could see was the slow drip of car headlights
As they'd emerge from out of the street next to me
Eventually I had to stop, I couldn't go on, couldn't see anymore
It was like everything had just faded away until all that was left,
all that was left there... was me
But then - suddenly! Looking up. There! Right above me
The huge spire of a Church, towering up,
Like it was coming out of the clouds
I was amazed... awestruck
"Surely this was it" I thought, "surely I'd found it
(That which had been lost... lost for so long)
The Church at the End of the World looking down on all
    Eternity",
Even now after all those years I still had a memory of you
You were there... right at the beginning, right at the start, you
   were there
Those nights when I slept as a little child
You used come to me, come to me in the quiet, in the still of
   the night
I used enter and roam your hallowed halls...look out on your
golden city...with eyes wide with wonder
It all started to come back to me
I grew excited, so excited
Because I knew! I remembered! I recognised you still!
You were there, all there just like you had been all those years
   ago
And you were the same, the exact same, you hadn't changed in
   any way
I saw the old familiar road down to you open up before me
And then the Bridge across appear
And then entering through your Gates
My heart it leapt inside me and my eyes they were filled with
   tears
I'd found it...found you again
The Church at the End of the World.
Mystical poem. A bit like the Twilight Zone this.

The lighthouse was planted with its roots
Close enough to the faint smell of the salty water
Yet, keeping a safe distance from the its vicious waves.
And much like the lighthouse,
Not even my shadow dares to
Dance past the line
Between the calming shore
And the mysterious sea.

she basks in the sun's warmth
her half brilliantly glows
she dances on starlight
soft quiet steps on each star
as she twirls, twisting
the cosmos around her.
and yet her other half
hides away, unseen
her secrets embedded in her
forever companion, the
shroud of darkness that is the sky.
how mysterious and how beautiful
she is tonight.
inspired in part by Debussy's classic, Clair de Lune, and in part by the beauty that is the half moon.
i've come to appreciate seeing the moon cycles go by. i was born on the day of a full moon. i try not to be superstitious but i can't help but feel like she's always watching over me.

mysterious
is what i want to say
when i look at you
in your eyes
the curve of your lips
and the color of your eyes
all of you is intriguing to me
and like a nightmare all at the same time
i can never get you out of my head
in my mind is where you have always nested
images of you
playing over and over again
and although its haunting me
its not really like i want it to go away
because you are a beautiful but bitter sweet memory
and in my mind is where you have always nested
why would i take you away from that?
why would i take me away from that?
sure
maybe i could rip out whatever you left in me out
and watch myself bleed tears
or i could continue
because you are a beautiful but bitter sweet memory
because in my mind is where you have always nested
because you felt safe enough to close your eyes
because you felt safe enough to lay your head on my chest and finally rest
but its not fair to either of us
i noticed you before you noticed me
and i begin to wish that i never looked your way
or gave you the time of day
because now everytime I think of your name
my body is set aflame
What once lurked in darkness,

Is now bathed with light.

What once gloomed with sadness,

Is now replaced with a smile so bright.

But how can this be?

How can one, be free?

From nightmares and shattered dreams,

To a world where anything can be what it seems.

What is it that breaks this chains,

that binds me to a reality full of pain?

A powerful dwelling, more mighty than anything we can think of,

A mysterious but joyful thing, a feeling called love.
