You hurt

me the way

ice burns skin,

frost biting flesh

until your words were

tattooed into my mind and

some strange poison

ran through

my veins.

"Pretty girls don't smile!"
Those are the words of wisdom
fake soothsayers preached,
not thinking that she'd listen.
Alas... now she's cold as ice.

as the moon crests the horizon,
it lends its brightness
to the crystals of ice
dangling from the trees...
it’s a quiet night

I feel like I'm a sailor I've been sailing these tsunamis
Broke my bonds and bound the jailer I've faced the hoards and fared these armies
Bared the wash and stayed the pull
Made my peace amongst it all

I walk on glass like penguins tread thin ice
You're green like grass and greed has grabbed you by your vice
I wont lie I've lost myself inside your eyes
But the truth called out and sounded a sour note screaming through your lies.

Then my ire desire it spawns into fire
This pyre apocalyptic but something I sired
Swallow it all then in the lava you're mired
Ash in the wind your spirit is all but expired

Now I've found myself plummeting to the ground
Foundations built on lies quake till they all fall down
My outlook was paper thin formed from adolescence weak putrescence
I'll meet the ground and find innocence with rebirth creating harmony amongst dissonance.

Existed in the air
Resisted with the sea
Persisted by the ground
The fire was inside me.

If the tip of your nose freezes
on the walk home tonight,
embrace the pain.
Don't wish it away.

It just means that
your nerves still have endings
your skin is thick enough
your body isn't pretending

it still gives a f*.

Gliding on the surface
Of this frozen reservoir

I pick a stone and throw it
Waiting for a breakage

Did I hear a crack out there
Or maybe it came from the inside?

Could the ice break?
How warm is the water?

I heard it's colder
The deeper you go

Two stones are in my hands
I've never felt as powerful
Being all alone

Knowing death is watching
Waiting to be summoned

If I fell in the water
Would you come save me?

If the ice cracked
Would you feel relieved?

Jumping on the surface
Screaming at the world

I pick a stone and throw it
I hear a crack again

Ice on fire

Burning desire

Of melted heart

And flame

No shame or blame

We  both knew the game

Before we started

And now we have parted

So it didn't last

But we had a blast

All the same
