Give me the weirdos and heroes, give me those who are fearless in the face of complacency for they are the ones who crave so fiercely and face adversity rather than forfeit to conformity

What if I’m not the good guy?
I’ve been thinking about this lately, because I don’t think anyone sees themselves as the bad guy, as the villain, but some of us definitely are.

There’s a superhero protecting the city,
And when the sun goes down he fights
To keep his friends and family safe
On treacherous, deadly nights.
He uses his marvelous super strength
For lots of things, it‘s quite practical.
And he uses invisibility
To be supremely sneaky and tactical.

Each and every night he goes to stop
Bad people from doing bad things
The city loves their superhero,
And treat him as their king.
They know him well and they can tell
That he’ll always treat them with care
They know they can call at any time,
And that the hero will always be there.

But many long and sleepless nights
Begin to take their toll.
The hero’s getting tired
Night after night on patrol.
And the battles fought aren’t easily won,
The hero’s decorated with scars
From poison darts, and fisticuffs,
Falling from buildings onto cars.

But no one else can protect the people
Whom the hero love so dear,
So the hero cannot take a break,
Not one day off because he fears
That as soon as he’s gone the baddies will come
And wreak havoc on his friends
And the hero cannot allow that to happen;
He could never make amends.

Though he’s growing quite weary, the hero keeps fighting
Because that’s the way heroes are wired.
But his strength doesn’t work like it used to,
And his invisibility tends to backfire.
His strength only works around other people,
He grows weak as soon as they’re gone.
He’s invisible almost all of the time,
So people can’t see something’s wrong.

It’s now to the point where the hero dreads
The sun sinking into the west
Because he knows that once the sun goes down,
He’ll be put to the test.
He’s so tired and weak and he’s ready to quit
But he knows he must go out again.
Isn’t protecting the city week after week
Worth any amount of pain?

He’s reluctant to go out, and almost dares to do evil,
To show that he’s in control.
But he knows he never will, his reputation’s at stake,
And he prepares to go out on patrol.
The city is asking to be saved once again.
And he cries as the sky turns red,
Maybe the city won’t expect to be saved
If the hero himself is dead.

For the hero feels so very alone.
He knows he can’t go on forever.
How many more super villains and monsters,
He asks, can this poor hero weather?
The hero knows that he can’t go much longer,
That he only has a little while
Before the people figure out he’s hurt
But for now he saves with a smile.

Though his bones are weak, and his skin is bruised,
Off to save the city once more, he goes.
He’s pushing himself far past his limit
As he brawls ‘gainst countless foes.
He wants to keep his people safe,
Though he may be going to his grave.
For no one ever taught this hero
To save others, first himself he has to save.
I’m so very tired

Bee in the distance

As Humble flew along,
He could see some bees flying away in the distance.
He was so excited to see new bees,
That he flapped his wings as fast as he could,
To fight his way through all the turbulence.
The wind was against him, the bees so far,
But he was determined to meet them, so he flew like a shooting star.

There were two bees that seemed to bee following,
A much smaller bee who was in front.
Humble thought it must bee the leader,
Because it dodged quicker than the others could.
It zipped in and out of the tall corn stalks;
It would disappear down…and then shoot back up!
He could see the broken pieces of the corn as he flew above.

He didn’t know why they didn’t all just fly over, there was no rain;
But once more they all suddenly vanished again.
So he dived in after them and quickly made his way through the corn.
He had a few close calls and nearly hit his head more than once
And then suddenly he flew past something lying on the floor;
It began to shake its head, it was only stunned…

Humble quickly realised he had been chasing a much bigger wasp.
I’m out of here he thought and was quickly up and gone;
But out of the corner of his eye he saw something as he rose,
He saw the difference in size between one wasp and the other;
There was no way he could just go.
He had followed the wasp but now there was a bee;
It was further in the distance, but he couldn’t just leave,
The wasp to catch the bee, so with all his speed,
He sped after the wasp, giving it all that he had got.

As the wasp in front of him forever gained on the bee,
It suddenly felt a hand on its stinger and Humble gave it a twist,
With all his might, he span around as fast as he could,
The wasps head was spinning quickly, navigation on vacation
And with a mighty crash, there was a huge cloud of dust and a thud!
Humble kept on flying, feeling dizzy himself,
But he saw the line of the horizon and once more all was well.

Once more he got closer to the bee and said wait for me!
The bees eyesight wasn’t the best
And it could only hear a wasp still chasing, so began to flee.
It darted to the left and quickly back to the right,
Humble kept a close eye on its movements
And lined the bee up in his sights.

He was getting closer, so the bee flew straight up into the air;
Humble was determined to follow, so flew up without a care.
As the two bees rose up, going higher and higher,
Humble began to lose his strength and his body began to tire.
Soon his wings stopped and he could only drop;
The clouds above grew smaller and soon he would bee gone.
He closed his eyes and tried to flap his wings,
But his energy was gone, it wasn’t happening.
The ground approached at speed, he thought he was toast,
When suddenly a hand grabbed the back of his fur coat.
He tried to look behind him but he could not see,
The bee who was carrying him to a place of safety.

He started to flap his wings and shouted let me go!
He wiggled to escape but still the hand had a hold.
He span his body around so the other bee was closer to the ground
And he said let me go or I will fly down.

He was so busy trying to look over his shoulder
And reach the hand that had a grip,
That he didn’t see the sun flower ahead,
But the other bee did.

With a huge use of energy the other bee span them both back around
And let go of Humbles fur and disappeared without a sound.
Humble was moving too fast, to change his flight path
And suddenly he crashed and landed softly into the sun flower...

And as for the other bee?
Humble heard a laugh…

By the time he had found his composure
And made his way out of the flower,
The other bee had disappeared
And Humble was left alone to wonder…

at last something broke you
and that something, it was you
you were closing your eyes
you were seeing it through

you blew up and sold
the world outside and within
and i fell on your black day
you showed me how to live

you showed me how to die
and no matter how hard i try
to stare at the sun
it is black to my blind eyes

and suddenly my eyes are open
somehow things begin to focus
high

we are all illuminated
light is shining on our faces
blind

until our rapture
falls to pieces

these are stolen
bits and pieces

new york is hot
how i loathe where i'm living
Bharata, you fought
now it's i who is giving
up
and now fly

now fly from your empty cage, girl
you are rust and the sky
always killing the bird
see, i am the night
jesus christ i suppose
see, i am the light

i don't mean to remind you
of anything you gave me in song
you blessed my muse with your light
what you did was so wrong

the light in us was darkness
how the night is so long
light a fire, wait for summer
we black stars wander on

smoldering embers
september's come and gone
here comes my december
half beast
and half gone

broken and cold
but all is still holy
Hallelujah, and through you
yes everything, holy

did we want it darker
so you turned out the light?

now i'm doing time
playing with meter and rhyme
longing to be in the house
of my own secret life

until the sea must free us
i'll wait for you there
you came just to see us
all we sailing where?

all of us sailors
rowers, keep rowing
now no light is showing
now the danger's approaching

row gently, never gently!
upstream to ignite
row never gently!
rage at that night!

oh captain, my lying captain
turn around and take me home
a long time ago
i thought you'd died alone

everybody knows this boat's leaking
all the white horses stopped sleeping
the ponies stopped running
i the band just keep playing
though the girls now are aging

lilac wine, sweet and heady
how my hand is unsteady
how aghast and unready
like my love that is ending
like the last night you danced me

when the music was over
you turned out the lights
you kissed me goodnight
with a thousand goodbyes

still in my dreams you walk dripping
from the sea where i'm slipping
from the sea that shall free me
to my hut that is ripping
through the masterpiece
tripping

how my soul is worn thin
i can't even begin
to speak
so i'll speak no more

and if it be your will
i'll sink beneath your wisdom
like a stone

like a stone
i'll wait for you there

alone

My dear girls and boys,

Use my eyes as your mirror
See yourself like I do,
Kind, caring and courageous.

Tumble down the impenetrable wall you have built
around your feelings and emotions
Leave all the dark shadows behind in a Tokyo skyscraper
Fill your heart with tenderness and amusement
Feel the summer sun warm on your shoulders
Become your happiness
Become your hero.

As days go by,
You will smile more frequently and
Laugh more freely
Sparks will flash in your eyes and heart, and will say
‘This is going to be amazing’

It is you being you, after all.

I've never wanted to be the hero
And surely I know
You were never any damsel in distress

So leave saving mankind
To the chumps in tights
We wear leather *****
And no seatbelts when we ride

Take the sands of time
And diamonds in our minds
Slinging silver and silk
In a world we've defined

It is written in the runes
unveiled by the maypole ******.
When the darkest kiss
meets the storm of light
on a midsummer’s night.

The sisterhood has gathered.
Fog and dew, euphoric moves.
Chanting, flaunting ivory skin.
Feel the pull of our dance
the taunting of our calls.

Baccanal cries of ******.
Bringing down the silver tears
of falling stars to heal, to still
the wounded souls, the lost
with a swill of magic dew.

Moon daisy,
Buttercup
Count the number,
hold your tongue.
Catchfly and Baby’s breath
say naught to no one
keep the faith.
Delphinium
my steadfast knight.
Bluebell and yes,
Forget-me-not.

Gathered by the crossroad
of yesterdays and tomorrows.
Gentle flowers sacralized
s e v e n for the magic number
to seal the vow eternally
of my love everlasting.

Too soon the dawn will break.
Hurry do the last of spells.
Hop over n i n e fences
kirtle tied around my waist.
Don’t look, don’t speak
just hold my breath.

No time for sleep, not yet
I mustn’t forget the rite itself,
that will grant my dreams to unveil.
What’s written in the future
s e v e n blooms under my pillow.
and finally I’ll see...
...the one
It’s tradition to post this not this day or night... Originally from June  2012, the night before my birthday. For the not initiated, just know that Swedes take their Midsummer rites very seriously.
