They each have a duty
But this girl named Angel is different
She does not ascend
For she has something to amend
To sin was never her intent
Will she ever reclaim that beauty?

We are children of the Rainbow.
Sacred blessings from the Sky .
To make our homes in The valleys,
They hoped that we would become
Wise.

We were chosen by the Moonlight.
To give our hearts to the Sun,
A sacred duty sworn to no one.
We'll be whole when it is done.

We are marching through a darkness,
In silent search of holy light.
Some have strength and some are hopeless...
I pray they all survive the night.

Morning sun on my horizon,
Show me to thy golden throne.
Fill the Sky with stars and diamonds,
And send a ship to take me home...
This is a bit of a weird one,  I'll admit. I wrote this one morning while watching a sunrise with friends on psychedelics.  Can you guys see anything here?

Each man has its duty, everyone may envision
A person with a wish, a man in a mission
Though each set of us, has a standard and condition
In each a task handed to us will create a result and fruition

We can take all of what needs to be done and finish it all
Even though it’s a big feat, you may think of it as small
However, burnout will happen and falter like the rest
Whereas you could’ve took one and made it the best

Take a small one, it should be really easy
A simple task which you can think may be measly
But will you be happy with a small scope like that
Why not challenge yourself with a bigger cap?

So you see my friend, we do have options about our limitations
It’s either we got one to finish, or take on a mountain of duty
Although each one may lead us in a treasure or *****
Think of yourself before you make a final decision
Another spur of the moment poem for our project in Humanities :)

Tour of Duty©
I awaken from a fitful sleep
One where slumber was not very deep
The night before after counting many a sheep
My eyes closed and they did meet

A dream was had that made me sneep
You and I were there in a jeep
As I mentioned another tour you said nary a peep
But in your eyes I capture “what the bleep”
We both know the long stay at an outkeep
The enemy would be nearby and they are prone to creep

The sacrifice again would require a big leap
Is this a mistake or am I being wheep
Once again into our love my duty does seep
For a promise I knew I could not keep

Is the price for going to war really this cheap
The returns not guaranteed and the climb out steep

Or maybe we need to stop and make a clean sweep
And throw our relationship onto the scrapheap

Hearing those words make us both weep
For a promise I knew I could not keep

Your cuteness is my beauty,
Your prosperity is my lookout.

Your smile is my compatibility,
Your affection is my pout.

Your job is my duty,
Your happiness is my Karma.

Your satisfaction is my responsibility,
Your health is my Dharma.
Because you call me Sharma!
Ha ha ha!
You will love it when you read it.

Karma: Duty.
Dharma: Religion.

Every day she plants the starseeds
that grow into wishing flowers,
their petals fall down to the earth
and we call them meteor showers.

We beseech the celestial wanderers
and when our words reach her ears,
she makes all our biddings come true,
but each one is stained by her tears.

She yearned for one to call her own
in her garden above the clouds,
but to think of herself and not of the world,
her duty is disavowed.

And so the lonely Starwarden
only smiled on us from above.
She could not keep the wish of another
just because she wished for love.

Asking the Congress to rewrite laws
That benefit and enrich themselves
Is asking the wolf not to eat the lamb.
The wolf will eat the lamb.
The lamb cannot avoid this fate
By pretending it is not worth eating.

The wealthy are well rewarded
For not caring about the poor.
To make them care the only way
Is to offer them  tributes.

The rich want you to buy
Their trinkets and toys
And leave the lawmaking to them.

As long as we let the rich
Write the laws and control
Enforcement, the law
Will be slanted in their favor.

Nothing fuels fascism like poor people,
So the rich will raise prices and
Thus keep the people poor.

Dishonest people will always
Blame someone else for their crimes.
In government, they will blame
Honest people trying to do the job
They were elected to do.

If a person fails to be outraged
At the actions of criminals,
He is either criminal himself
Or a defense attorney,
And that person may be
Both at the same time.

Among the biggest mistakes
One can ever make
Is believing campaign promises
Where no evidence exists
Of any plan to keep them.

As long as politics are run
Like a beauty contest,
Nothing like democracy
Ever has a chance to succeed.

In a democratic country,
The common people must
Expect to participate
To make it work.
That means they must work
Within the system to ensure
All nefarious people and laws
Be discovered and thrown out.

Undefended rights are only
Privileges grudgingly by government
Dispensed as alms to beggars.

In a representative government,
Everyone must be a representative.

Yesterday is a terrible day
To plan to fix things.
Today and tomorrow
Are the only time we have to do it.

If a representative
Does not walk his talk,
Stop listening to his talk
And watch his walk.

Do not expect industry or military
To protect your rights.
They are both monetary institutions
Addicted to power.

If Congresspeople earn fortunes
By serving the people,
There can be no equity
In representation.
Corruption will rule the land.

Lobbyists should be imprisoned
if they are indistinguishable
From extortionists.

Voting districts need to be
Based on the needs of the people,
Not the needs of the bank accounts
Of our leadership.

Offshore bank accounts should be
As illegal as they are immoral.
(As this is all my own opinion, there will be more at later dates.)
You are like my soul when it leaves the body
Someone puts his hand on my eyes not to see
I wish to see to which abode it destined to be
Neither I had any wish to be in world nor plea

It is up to the beloved how she gives any verdict
It is she who has to select all the path to tread
Love demands that it is her right to declare, select
What is me is just to follow the orders to be dead

My beloved you are the real light of my eye sight
Without you how can I be able to take any flight
It is you who has made my future luminous, bright
I do appreciate I am your duty and you are my right
