Of course you know you are
One year older on this day.
But really, when you were younger
It was actually just one day away.
That’s why you don’t really feel
That you have gotten any older
And do not need anybody near
So you can cry on their shoulder.

Happy birthday, one day older
Happy birthday, one year too.
Cut the cake and share it baby.
Celebrate a year that is new.

You have no more hairs there
Upon your aging old head.
Everyone may be singing at you
But you are just one day ahead
Of who you were yesterday morn
When you woke up out of bed
And started on your daily journey
Following where fortune led.

Happy birthday, one day older
Happy birthday, one year too.
Cut the cake and share it baby.
Celebrate a year that is new.

But play along with tradition
And smile at the song and jokes.
Make a wish about tomorrow
As you blow out the candle smoke.
Though you’re only one day wiser
Things are more than they appear
Because the last time you did this
Was one amazing bygone year.

Happy birthday, one day older
Happy birthday, one year too.
Cut the cake and share it baby.
Celebrate a year that is new.

I wait for the sun,
And its new found glories.
The day begins anew,
With so many stories.
But alas from this what do we take?
A selfishness,
A greed.
Something we don't celebrate,
A new day has begun.
With it the warmth of the sun,
So for us this day.
Let us commemorate a day of life,
Our life.
And let us not for granted take.

Take me by the hand,
see me through your placid garden.
Walk with me, St. Mary's.

March me in time to your rhythm;
let me wield the mallet that beats your drum.
Sing to me, St. Mary's.

String my sole into the primordial web
within the black walnut tree.
Lay with me, St. Mary's.

Close my eyes and tilt me back;
dip me into the murky pond.
Baptize me, St. Mary's.

Take me down to the fiery shoreline;
we'll linger beneath the countenance of the rugged cross.
Crucify me, St. Mary's.

Sit me by your mystic grave,
cast a silent earthy veil over me.
Bury me, St. Mary's.

Chip me from the rock, free me of these shackles,
rocket me into the heavens.

Liberate me, St. Mary's.

What loss would it be?
What cost would it take?
To borrow such wings,
To fly to the King?

Follow his lead,
To hear him teach,
To know what it means,
To believe in the Dream.

Watch him dance in the grass,
Drinking from heaven's glass,
Singing,
"Free at Last... Free at Last..."

it is silent
after the storm
everything seems dead
dry, cracked, messed
where is life?

everywhere i look
same plain color
everything seems dead
black, white, gray
where is life?

held a pebble
from dried ground
everything seems dead
flowers, grass, insects
where is life?

there up above
same cloudless sky
everything seems dead
sun, moon, stars
where is life?

called out loud
none answered back
everything is dead
yesterday, today, tomorrow
**where is life?
The first phase of freedom is confusion.  You are not used to the situation you are now in. This is something new to you. You have no idea where to go and what to do. Everything has to be experimented. But do not worry. Try to create a plan for your future. Make sure to stick with it. Never loose self-trust and confidence. Do not be afraid of what is going to happen next. Trust me, it will be all worth it. You will soon get used to this new situation and overcome the confusion. Therefore, entering the second phase.   #FreedomSeries

One year more I watched that glistening bauble
drop from the heavens above
Celebrities were kissing
while I watched; innocent as a dove
One hand held I a mocktail
the other held the remote
my iPhone 5 was on my lap
the drink running down my throat
I was starting to get nervous
as the year was ending soon
these next few seconds
were intense
or I was crazy as a loon
My love of  just two months
was conversing then with me
He was away but I was here
it was him I wished to see
Then at last the time had come
to welcome the New Year
My heart stopped as I sent the text
that I before had feared
Some people underestimate
the power of emojis
but they convey a secret language
for the new generation to see
the particular face I sent
had puckered lips of love
would it be received well as I hoped
I prayed to Heaven above
The time was 12:01
I was ready for fate to play
its part in my quest of love
from which I had not strayed
My phone then alerted me
that I had received a message
it was a kiss sent back to me
from the boy I love  with rage
My heart was all aflutter
when I realized with glee
this was my first New Year's kiss
and it belonged to me
not only this, but there was more
that I celebrated that night
I completed a resolution
that I had made years before in spite
of my usual luck in love
it was horrible to the extreme
I wanted to have a kiss of love
the night Baby New Year was conceived
I jumped up from my chair
and danced about with glee
then I shouted for the world to hear;
"My Old Year's resolution is complete!"
Hey everyone! Happy New Year! This is a little delayed, but the past couple days have been crazy. If anyone is curious, this poem is indeed inspired by true events that occurred a few nights ago. I am very happy to start a new year, and I wish you luck luck and blessings in your quests for happiness and peace in 2016.

Of all the lands I've roamed till now,
I find my love in these
In the voices that I've come to know
Floating gently as the breeze

So calm and clear, the waters now
Of my restless crashing soul
To you, my friends, I give my heart
Which you all so kindly stole

For all the times we've lost ourselves
And been saved along the way
May we raise a glass for the times we've spent
Growing fonder every day

As grains of sand within that glass
Fall slowly to an end
There'll be no time I leave unspent
With the greatest of my friends

So as long as you are on my mind
I will keep you in my heart
At each journey's end there are more to come
Just waiting for their start

"Get in there!"
Can't say it loud enough

"Awoooo!"
Feeling awesome

Unbridled grins
Yelling with vigour

Hi fives
Energising others

Since when did we stop skipping?
An infinitely delicate green
gently disguised verbena
leaf, shyly beginning to
undress for a morning
bath in sunlight and pure,
chilly water. Where did she
ever get the idea that she
was too green to celebrate?
