Oceans and rivers of tears I have cried
I am the siren of my sorrow
Swimming deftly through my pride
No smiles to own or borrow

Where salt and sin settle deeply in
Old wounds reopened sting
Sharp reminders on my skin
Of what hurricanes will bring

Hollow bones
No feet to stand
Yet lacking feathers to fly
Not searching for shore or sand
Instead I seek the distant sky

The air above seldom touches my face
Except for in my sleepy head
And in my dreams I see no trace
Of monsters inhabiting my bed
Obviously the title is referring to The Little Mermaid"

Ah I love Disney
John McCafferty Aug 2020
Very slowly the sky is turning
Turning darker
Soft breeze uplifts
Wind speeds, gusts shift
Meandering unseen
Elements of light pass
through to ******
Silence reiterates it's case
Hue brightens as shadows leave
But murmurs mumble distantly
We wait, for when the anger erupts
and those above engulf us
Watch in wonder at the power
of the gods

The water goes above my head
Feels like i haven't left my bed
Is this what it feels like?
I'm drowning, not sure how long i can fight
I'm sinking deeper and deeper
The bottom seems too be getting even steeper
So ill hold my breathe
Till i drown to my death.

You are our savior
You are our father
You are our faith
You are the way
You are our love
You are up above
You are my soul
You make me whole
You are everything
You are...
My only Jesus
I know not everyone believes in Jesus, but he will save you as long as you repent your sins because he loves us all!
John McCafferty May 2020
Glances of a golden glow
Face raised up
and layers thrown
Childlike fun
Mid May rays
its warmth absolved

Cindered slow and tender
Scarlet tones rendered red
The invisible hand slaps
with a silent clap

No spite or bite just light
Remember this tightness
Dangers unknown grown
Charred from above
upon those below

his fingers fidgeted with the stars
comets flying like racing cars
when he glanced above, all he hoped
to sing a lullaby to the one
he loves the most

I met her above the hill as a boy
     far away from the Reality
I thought  it would be easy
I thought it would  be simple
            but not the society /
And it went on ,days were
                passing like a
    brook into the far woods
She was like that story book
               I loved to read
loved to flip her pages even
                      when
             I used to sleep //
she was like that  baby whom I
                 like a mother
      loved to cuddle even after
        hundred sleepless nights
            But did the society?
One day she said she belonged to
               a different faith,
though I never read it on her
                        face,
            I never learnt it
         when we gossipped
      possibly it was our fate
may be we were not  for each
              other mate !
till that date we have never met
till that day every moment I hardly
                      spent
God never made the barriers,
                    we did
   God never created religions
               Society did //
If I get those days  back again.
                and I wish
I was not that high school lil Jack,
I promise  I wanna ask myself
why did not you say anything at
                   her face?
why did I accept that as
                    my fate !
I want to know are you happy
are you ok with all those
                 prejudices,
    with all those myths and.
                 blatant lies,
that has nothing to do with us
                   my friend //
Then I realized its not that simple
because you and I , we all belong to
              this Cruel society
     where still some mugs live/
    with their long straucht arms
        to condemn you and me,
to outcast my you and your me
Still I want to ask you dear
why could not you dare to ask
if not them atleast to me
it was  really  you or your me
that asked me to leave ? maybe
its the  differences that told us to
apart or  its the society who
               played her tricks,
  to safeguard her  status-quo and
                   age-old bricks //
I wish We  had been born
              as adam and Eve,
I hope  we were  born in that
                        society,
     where hardly any differences
                         exist
this mismatch is nothing only the
                icebergs' tip
      differences are more than
       that we could ever think
God has not set the barriers we did,
                 you and I did //

Drain the venom with your pen
write it out,
until it wraps around you.

Stem the bloodflow
use it as a tourniquet
spit out the poison onto paper.

This world was made to devour
unhinging its jaw,
seeking to binge on us.

Do not be afraid
be forewarned;
take off the head of the hydra
and be resolved to continue with the cause.
