"somnus" poems
This saccharin seeps into me,
Liquid recompense trickling,
Trickling,
Into my bloodstream.
This ichor, sweeter than the morphine
I fiend for.
A ****** hungering for a hit.
So I pray to you,
Somnus, please don't send me away.
Night looming behind you,
Death in the wings.
Everyone knows that they have a sweet tooth
And I'm all sugar.

A Siren visits me in the realm of Somnus
It is she who owns my body as well as my heart
We don't **** - we make love
From a single glance of a soft and tender look, she has me hypnotized in her spell
The voodoo charm she weaves, although I know she's make believe - in my own reality, she's real
Our stamina fueled by a fire
Our limbs lock, intertwine like vines
Our chests pressed together, hands and fingers bound together
I can feel you embrace my skin
Ebbing and flowing like tides on the ocean wave
Your hair feels like the clouds I’ve dreamed to touch
Your eyes are closed, savoring the memory to mind
We’re breathing in the here and now
I never thought I’d want someone so much like breathing air
Your tenderness makes me feel safe
I can feel nothing but fingers and skin exploring and groping
You leave me breathless and gasping
Your kisses are sweeter than wine
Our bodies naturally know what to do
We go far back to the very first time we first made love
This wasn’t merely a ****
Come and let me have your lips, let me taste your fears
I will give you what you need
I feel your skin on mine
Roam my flesh with your soul and worship my body
The thirst will soon be gone
Safe is not just a place, it can be the space inside the body
Open up and I will take you to a different high
I'll show you that heaven is not just a state of mind
Explore me with your kiss, trace the path to hell and sin and I will give you the heaven
Between my hips
I still struggle to find heat in my heart
As the darkness slowly shows itself
My mind and heart go further apart
I laugh at love
No longer knowing the meaning of the word
My soul releases every emotion
Each and every scream can't be heard
There are tales of angels becoming demons
A bearer of light becomes one of darkness
Banishing all worldly feelings
Gaining pleasure from the misfortune and pain
Feeding off the sorrow of sinners
Impariamo a godere di questo paradiso nel nostro inferno

***Book One
(∞The Psalm of The Star Child∞)
The Precursor's Psalm I-V
To the Child of The Empyrean. For ye valleity stars shine.
(I) ―En Fortissimo
1 Tender with sentimentality,
I fathom you,
2 That you draw closer, nigh’ with every waking moment,
Closer to ensconce ‘twixt my embrace,
3 That your towering arms
May aegis these benighted bones.
4 The Vestibule of Our Souls shall be
Assoiled by an Arcadian Eternity,
5 Shall scintillate in my every blooded tear, shed garnetiferously,
―Upon my crucifix, our crucifix:
6 A penance, pardoning our transgressions prognostically
Before by romance, we touched erringly.
(Se'lah)
(II) Celestial Communion
1 O, Star Child,
May your beckoning
2 Sow the Seeds of Somnus upon the sanctimony
Festering in my faith,
3 (A besmirched hope)
Tarnished by my reverenc’d doubt.
4 O Minstrel of Manumission,
Will ye sing unto me ye SoulSong?
5 The Womb’d Aethers bleed,
The Terraqueous Mother conceives, Gaian a dream,
6 Her Luminous Brethren yearn
For the Arbiter of Fates.
(Se'lah)
(III) Song of Wishes
1 Velleity speaks,
It whispers,
2 In the twinkling of the stars.
When shall it end,
3 When
It has yet to begin?
4 Be still― and become one with all things,
As time fades, consciousness begins,
5 The Experiential Cascade:
All that was, all that is, & all that shall be,
6 Circular & Cycling,
Forevermore.
7 Know that there is a reason,
Know that there is a place,
8 Know that there is a person,
In this world for you.
9 Open up your heart and see,
All you were meant to see.
(Se'lah).
(IV) Spiritus de Tempus (Zeitgeist of the Future)
1 ―Blooming in Reminiscence
The Dreamscape glistens,
2 A Redolent Reverie wafts
The Tenuous Air amidst
3 Her Zephry'd Lightwaves
& Crystalline Pulsations.
4 Ardently I pine,
For thine visage, groping for a rhyme,
5 Whence I can gaze once more upon thine
Countenance sublime,
6 All desperations been defied,
For thee I reverberate Love, The Spirit of the Times.
(Se'lah)
(V) Bastion Heart
1 The agony in existentiality
Unravels undying piety
2 And
Cloistered in cadence of solitude,
3 I, the Somnolent One,
Am roused by The Heart’s Resonance.
4 In wanting, there is life,
In desirelessness, wanting still,
5 Know thine Power,
Indomitable Will:
6 The Couer & The Amour of the Spirit
Are immortal.

Awake! With morning darkness burst
Cracking rich eye crusting sleep
Ignore the strident bell of life
Outward cold warm snuggle deep
Ward against the nagging throng..
Heavy somnus dragging down
Yet buried in the fogged dark mind
Stirs nagging tendril hazy thought
Waste not the day the moment bright
Life much holds more than lazy sleep
So lift mind's eye to misty height
Great life romance spread out before
Adventure waits rich quandary cries
Mountain steep ascend short breath
Summit reach proclaim rapport
Plunging deep crash water roar
Piton ***** stretch rope zing out
Axe bury thud strain upward reach
Snow underfoot sharp crunch give soft
Peace vista birdsong rise aloft
What journey waits?
What dreams?
What Fates?
Agonise decision ........ wait!
Heavy lids snap open gate
Hah! Exclaim loudly joyous shout
Burst upwards throw aside life's wrap
Brush away veil laden doubt
Cast aside all thought save one ....
Awake the dawn of comrades share
Banish prison walls of toil
Embrace the spice rich life before
Lost freedom of existence glory
Live the life few dare to hold
Climb cragged rock - Trek lands far flung
Forge white streaked waters sheen
Cross the desert dry and bright
Brave wilderness dark verdant green
Stand wind whipped face brave peak stand out
We know what it’s all about
So-Facilitate deep need within
Live the life all seek few dare
Complete existence venture far
We pass this way but once - bemuse
Grasp this opportunity or lose

Sleep - Oh my dear friend why do you hide
midst the turbulent brooding that twist
and tumble within my fatigued mind?.
Come, let slumber kiss my heavy eyes,
whilst Luna roves the scene Nox has spread,
waken for me Somnus from his bed
to still thoughts and words erratic chase,
till Morpheus dreams then takes their place:
thence to grant me slumbers precious peace,
Come - settle my mind: Please - let me sleep.

Have you had a dream that felt realer than reality itself?
Anything that you touched or touched you felt so surreal?
Somebody calls you, you may not know who but you hear it clear and true.
The steps we've taken in the paths of our lives are echoed in the realm where fears lie and all we can see is our own consciousness,
And the path I've followed 'til now would have kept me from falling so deep into this current darkness.
The darkness that is depression, the monster that stays throughout all, even our sleep.
A majority of people have seen this pitch-black inkling in some form,
And I believe it shouldn't be feared as it is but I've got no control over how bad things can get.
It would be silly to say "I'm okay" because that's a lie we hear every day -
But here I am, dying so slowly, but so surely that it's quite disturbing;
Being able to see yourself become nothing more than a hollow shell as you let it eat away at you.
So all we can do is sleep.
Try for dreams. Instead of nightmares.
Yet, no matter how hard we may try, there's always that thought of sleeping an eternity away.
*Sleep until you can't wake up.
For dreaming is your final stop*

close your eyes
shut out the fickle light
leave this place
where your feet drag in the devil’s dust,
your arms flail in ancient red slime,
and blue skies have
turned gray with
the ashes of drunken dreams
fear not what the old ones have said
about the last gasps
let your body
find the indifferent earth
where the light you have always craved,
like one eternally bedeviled
by a desert thirst,
becomes a soft black song…

It's late afternoon
The sky bleeds purple
As buildings claw at its fabric
December breathes coldly
And I feel them as if they are tempests
I can see every crack on the pavement
Hear the footsteps of the ebbing crowd
As if they are thunderclaps
I feel all
And they are all mine
I am awake
It's evening
Streetlamps flicker like flames
The houses are dead silent
And what my gaze befalls is my own
But I am nothing and everything
The horizon is but a blanket
Of a little piece of the universe
Sometimes it feels good to be small
So that the world will be but a giant blur
As if in a dream
I am sleeping
It's finally night
The most beautiful face of the day
For every time I close my eyes
I scatter jewels beneath my eyelids
I paint the silver crescent of the moon on the dome of my skull
And I find peace in the dark where others find fear
In the absence of heaven's eye
Angels sing me to sleep with cherubic lullabies
While my mind grasps at the vastness of the universe
And I have found the greatest escape
I am alive.
It's quiet.
This is the only happy I will ever be.

Morpheus sets the world to slumber
And steps lightly between dreams
With twine of gold and heavy thunder
He weaves his sleeping schemes
Unmaker! Unmaker!
He takes the nightmare
And spins his tangled web
A heavy cloud is seeping despair
Turning sweetdream into lead
Liar! Liar!
The sleep rebelling
Shaking cobwebs from the mind
Rising slow with dream dispelling
And Morpheus is blind
Iris! Iris!
The rainbow beckons
Against languid drooping head
Sunlight is the fiercest weapon
From slow Morpheus’ dread
Somnus! Somnus!
To bring the father
Leash your changeling son
He obliged, or would’ve, rather
The twisted web had come undone
Coward! Coward!
Does Morpheus hide
In shadows grey and black
Cursed again to now reside
In the tiny twilight crack

Tantum tempus temporis
quoniam aliena femina in meo cubiculo dormivit;
ecce illi quantum dulce somnus est.
Quanta etiam libera somnia sunt.
In alia aetate mundum certe rexit
vel optimo regi in matrimonio fideliter ducta est
qui iuxtus flumen psalmos luce lunae scripsit.
**** me iri foras egressum et spatiatum
Nihil occurit hic, nihil umquam fit.
Praeterea si incedat iam volat me narrare;
habeo nihil, praecipue erga quicquid erat.
Viam cepi aviam
qua celeres non superant;
dignis praemia sunt
qui verbum veritatis distinguere possunt.
Hospes solus me docere potuit
praeclaram orem iustitiae contemplari
et videre oculum pro oculo, et dentem pro dente.
Nisi duo homines in mansionem,
Est nullus in viso; verem exspectant,
proinde quasi ver plaustro accederet.
Mundus deleretur ea nocte
sed meae amicae aequum esset;
illa meo cubiculo dormiret *** revenirem.
Meridiano me promoveo
adhuc in obscura parte viae;
in angustos corruere
et constans manere non possum.
Alius mea ore dicit
sed solum meo animo audit,
calcas omnibus etiam tibi feci
quibus tamen careo.
Ego et ego
In creatione quo ingenium alicuius
nec alicui ignoscit nec excolit.
Ego et ego
unus alteri dicit nullus et videre
imaginem meum et vivere possit.

Words that once twisted
on my tongue like dancers
now stick, like sugar, to my lips
sweet honey locks that trap
the fire that eats me from
the inside - a body,
a cage, that echoes
birdless in the night
as I sit smoking out
the nightmares that wait,
like patent lovers, for me
to join them

Oh Somnus*, tell me something,
Why not my Muse* in my dreams?
I’d long to see him for anything,
Or at least be with him in the streams.
But alas, other Muses which I never called
Kept on taking me to Lethe*.
I’d clasp my hands away from them, and behold,
Be onto Elysian Fields* where I can breathe.
I long more for his hands to reach
And take me up for Olympia*.
Maybe Hera* can permit our breach
For to enjoy a taste of ambrosia*.
But what of my Muse, you say,
That inhibits him to see me?
Is he too pure like how we pray,
Or is he really my reality?
Then decree, “Awake, O Sleeper!
Lucifer* will show the passage,
And perhaps Aphrodite* will hear you, weeper,
Grants your wish of a love lasting than age.”
So for now, I shall await for my Muse,
Even if Fate* says we’ll meet after a long time.
Then maybe to Hermes* I will fuse.
After all, is sending my blessings to you not a crime?

.
Play.
I do not know which iteration of myself
I am pleading with this time,
but let me ask on my knees if I will still be you
when I get to wherever I’m supposed to end up.
When you say ‘try again’ I reset,
slam myself into doors and windows until
the milk of my bones seeps back
into amniotic fluid, and then I am here again.
I am here again, and now
I have new mistakes to make.
Pause. Confusion. Breathe. Play.
There’s a body in the glass,
fragments plucking themselves
through parallelities;
there’s something beautiful
next to something that stings,
and they pool together
like watercolours against a sky
where you can pluck your finger
from the air and lay claim to the spot
where you think the end might be.
If you want the end to be yours,
then take it. Tell me
how I should be going about this,
and if you can watch as I
ruin everything again, let yourself
become dust in the air
and surround me with the control
that I do not have.
I’m not in control.
I’m never in control.
And there’s something absurd in the air
that pushes the day to the horizon
again.
It’s up to you now.
Pause. Rewind.

It is HER
The one I love
You I lust
The one that knows me
You barely scratch the surface!
The one who owns my heart
You only **** the body
You are a pillar
She is the foundation!
You are the present
She is the past
I love you
I will always love her more
My tears and sadness are not for you
It is only for her
She was - is - my soulmate and until I meet her in death
I shall only live
Not for you
All for her!
While asleep, even my dreams are not of you!
Her lips are crimson, her skin fair and smooth, her voice melodious and tempting
The Siren who visits me when I'm in the realm of Somnus
I pour all my tenderness into each kiss and touch, and though I kiss you longer and hold you tighter, it's an alien feeling
As if I am a ghost
It is her I see everywhere I go
It is her I only think about
It is her I only feel to love
However, she has long since passed this Earthly realm and though I'm committed to you and our children, she always haunts my heart
In my mind's eye, she is still here with me - alive
We have a life together - a family
Our children are happy and healthy
You found me at my lowest
At a time when I thought that I could never enjoy happiness - or life - ever again
And though we share a life together - a family complete with children
I will always be stuck in the past; it is where my heart truly lies and where my good memories are stored
If this is hell, I don't want to know what heaven is!

Midnight whisper.
Dreaming sound.
Pushed-back world, mind free.
Heaven welcomes you with a smile.
