Foreign Accents
What is so enchanting
about an accent?
From British, Australian
to the Southern Drawl,
I can't help but love them all!
As a stupid American who speaks neutral American English, whenever I hear a foreign accent I have the urge to talk to that person for hours!

Get Off Your "High Horse!"
Your ego is atrocious.
This will sound precocious
but you should at least try
to eat some humble pie.
Some people on this site are so arrogant and boastful of their works. They need to step back and realize that they are not the ONLY POET on this site let alone planet Earth!

San Francisco
I am bombarded
by ideas, languages,
diversity in all directions.

The smell of sewer
intertwined with perfume
and the sweet smell of
Thai food.

The jingle of the cups
of the homeless and
the clickity-clack of girls
walking in stiletto heels.

Never a dull moment
in this city of
diversity.
Find the beauty
Lose yourself in the rhythm
of life.

Woo Me
Woo me by your intelligence.
Drag me deep into a conversation
that seemed to last for a minute
but really took all day.

Woo me by your touch.
Take my freezing hands in yours
until your warmth makes me feel again.
Wipe my tears away and support me
when I'm drowning in my misery.

Woo me by your romance.
Take me out dancing and gaze into my eyes.
Treat everyday like it's our last day together.
Hold every glance like it's the first day we met.

*Value our love.

Mountains
You'll never know
how many mountains I've had to climb
to stand here before you today.
I have come to a conclusion.

We are in an endless cycle.

We wake up and think about food.
We eat sugary cereals for breakfast
so we go to school or work thinking about food.

Afterschool, we watch food and beauty advertisements
that make us feel bad about ourselves,
so what do we do?
Shop for food and clothes to make us
"feel better" and to "fill the void."

After shopping, we get tired and watch television
where we, yet again, shovel even MORE food
into our lifeless pieholes.

We also don't want to cook anything,
so our meals consist of Campbell's soups, frozen pizzas and leftovers of whatever casserole is in the house.

Even after eating dinner, we are tempted to eat more,
so we have DESSERT!

Because of our constantly on-the-go lifestyle, half the time we are not even conscious of what we're eating.

Ironically, yet predictably, we go to sleep thinking about what we will have for breakfast the next day.

Forget-Me-Not (5 word)
Will you ever
forget me?
Oh dear, it seems like I'm sinking back into my minimalistic ways. These words called out to me tonight.
The time will come
when you'll stumble upon
someone who will turn your life
upside-down and inside out.
Chances are, that encounter will happen when you least expect it...so
patience and diversion are key
for that special someone
to walk into your life
*unexpectedly.
I have been there. I've been the one waiting for love. I want to help anyone
needing relationship advice. Feel free to message me about your problems. I will try my best to fix them :)

Feeling-goes with what feels right to them, feels deeply, loves connecting on a personal level with people.

J**udgemental-judges by outlook and action but not by information, quick to comment, not hindered by self-consciousness.

Luggage
Come on in;
It's freezing out there!
Set your luggage at your feet
for I'll tend to every parcel in a heartbeat.

Then come and sit at the dinnertable
with my friends and me,
for we would thoroughly enjoy
your new and peculiar company.

Wait! (Said I) Have I seen you before?
This must be some kind of trick!
For I also tended to your luggage
when you were weak and sick.
Some people more than others like to vent out their feelings to people. I love when people come to me with their problems because I find that I have a knack for giving advice and solving them.

Sobbing Episode
My body heaves and convulses
while tears stream down my face
blurring my vision
like a camera lens in fog.

My mind was sick.
I had just watched the movie
The Pianist about the Holocaust.
The Holocaust was sick.
A man in a wheelchair fell
from a tenth story window,
dumped out by the SS.
Sickness.

My body was sick.
I could not speak.
I could barely cry for that matter.
All I could do was sob.

My spirit was sick.
I hadn't prayed in a whole month
and God and I were floating
farther   and         farther            apart.

My soul was moved.
I heard the real star in The Pianist
Wladyslaw Szpilman play
Chopin's Nocturne in C# Minor.
(that is NOT a hashtag)

That was when I broke down.
This actually happened. I was at home one day from school with nobody around and turned on Chopin's Nocturne in C# Minor. I swear I could hear every death he had witnessed during the Holocaust in that song.

When I am Gone
When I am gone,
find me in the
slow, creeping morning light
at dawn
when the dew glistens
and returns to its creator.

When I am gone,
find me in the sparrow
that swoops and bends
to find the perfect place
in a giving tree.

When I am gone,
find me in the genuine smiles
of those around you
whom you fill with great joy.

When I am gone,
find me in the radiant sun
peaking through the clouds
giving light to the world.

When I am gone,
feel my love
for my love is a candle
ever burning, never fading,
always understanding that
sometime we will meet again
soon.

Ours
I refuse to dance around the words
"I love you."
The power that you awaken in my soul
gives those words upon my tongue
a meaning,
a sign,
a call to arms because
two months is long enough
to live out years of memories.

I look into your eyes and I see
the world glittering before me.
Those grinning cheeks that stole my heart away
like a thief remind me of what we have,
and it's special.
No special concoction or solution
could possibly dilute such a strong connection.
Not even Einstein could crack the code
to the lock that binds us together.

In this time of
"hands off"
and
"it's mine"
we finally have something that we can call
"ours"
and it's **beautiful.
This is from the depths of my love-drenched soul. Enjoy :)

Too Much, Society?
Stop thinking that you are too much
this or that
too ugly or too fat
because you are worth
much more
than a number.

No jean size, person or society
can dictate how you live your life.
No failure or mistake can ever
define you.

You are only defined by your character.

And I know that I should be careful,
That I should hold back,
But with you, I can't.

En La Noche
En la noche
me gusta pensar
en las cosas profundas
como el futuro
de nuestra sociedad.
También medito en
las memorias
de tú y yo.
Cosas profundas
como el agua
que corre en el río
o nuestros besos mojados

*Sigh of Relief*
I am glad that such professions
I have made didn't touch your heart.
I also wouldn't blame you
if you didn't want to dive.
It's much too dangerous.

Although your explanation
is lengthy enough, I am puzzled.
What do you mean by heartstrings tangled?

Love hits people so differently
and mine is apparently leading me
to a dead end.

What I Would Tell My Mom
Let your children go explore.
School does not teach a kid nearly as
much as a romp through the woods
or a foreign exchange.
Meeting new people and finding inner peace must become priorities in life if you want your kids to be happy.
Try telling that to them while giving them worksheets.
Open their minds.
First and foremost, give them some
autonomy to roam.
This will ultimately make them happy.
Your kids will never be happy with just worksheets.
I choose to accept
your every quirk.

Humility (6 word)
People find people
that fit together with them
in this crazy puzzle we call life.
I have been analysing couples lately and the happiest ones seem like they were two puzzle pieces with the exact knobs to fit their significant other. I saw how peoples' heights played into that too. People tended to find the height of their significant other compatible with their own.
I have that indominable  **spirit.
Nothing can stand in my way. Nobody, not even my parents can dictate my decisions. I will go where I want. It's travel that I crave and it's travel I will get.

Poets Love Poets
We love a good introspection.
A lot of thinking-outside-the-box
a dash of sponaneity with a pinch
of romance.
A lot of pondering, wandering
wondering and pandering.
We crave intimacy and to woo we say,

"Look at my poetry."

Our minds are wired differently.
We tend to see things not as they are
but what they can be.
We are silently affectionate but rarely
spout off our poems in public.
We love deeply, fall hard and
live out our lives according to our
composition books.
