unfixable

Maybe I was born
broken
and I was never meant
to be fixed
because the pieces I lost
was never there
in the first place.

Alone
Toothless Nono Mar 2018
I miss the sound,
of being alone.

The crisp
rustling of leaves
as they fall from grace.

The rush of water
flowing in the river
down to the falls.

The choir of birds
sitting in a tree
humming melodies
echoing in the air.

The thoughts inside my head
whirling freely alone,
rapid and wild
without the voices
telling it where to go.

I miss the sound
of being
alone.

i wanted to cry
but my tears won't come out
so i stabbed myself
right
in
the
chest
and everything
I ever hid
came
pouring out
in front of me
and oh what wonder
because all i can see
is pitch black darkness.

It's unfortunate
how the sky

the roof of a

Mailman
Toothless Nono Apr 2017
I wrote letters
for myself
five years from now
telling him
that it's okay
to cry
once in a while
that tears
are not a sign
of weakness
but an emotion
taking shape
freeing itself
from the binds of body.

I comfort him
with lies
telling him
that if he waits
eventually
everything will
turn out
fine,
that the fire
won't burn as much
if left untouched

I tell him
that broken guitars
can sing too.
Out of tune
maybe
but the melody
is there
howling
on the moon
and the shadows
are its audience.

I convince him
to tuck himself on bed
every night
and sleep
to count the sheep
and drift away
without the help
of tears.

I tell him
that I hope
five years from now
that he reads
these letters,
that i pray
it won't be left
unread
collecting dust
in the corner
of an empty room
deprived of joy
and life.

Forbidden Fruit
Toothless Nono Apr 2017
I cannot wait,
to taste the forbidden fruit.
Hanging,
innocently,
unripe,
from the ceiling of the world.

It's calling me,
to touch her skin.
Feel it all the way up,
then rip it open
and eat the inside
slowly,
memorizing
every detail
while I indulge
in its young flesh
staining it with
my sins
and marking it
as my own.

The bad aftertaste
won't matter
as long as I satisfy
this eternal hunger
and then
I'll wait for another fruit
to bloom once again
ripe or not
I will feast on its body.

The high gardens
Toothless Nono Jul 2016
I once saw a beautiful garden.
Between the red road and a beautiful sea,
curiosity got the better of me
and I examined all the greenery.

The flowers, with their remarkable beauty,
stands out among the rest.
Picked by everyone who passes by,
adored and treated well.
But as they grow old and wither,
used and tattered like pieces of paper,
they are thrown and replaced by another.

The trees, while not the most beautiful,
are sturdy and tall.
From a simple seed they grow,
years of patience and suffering they endured,
just for that view on the top.
But not every seed survives,
for storms can take their roots off the ground,
and take their hopes away anytime.

And then there's the grass,
lying about on the soil,
stepped on by everyone
and barely getting by.
They are not pretty nor sturdy.
They have nothing special.
But still they try.
To grow taller and taller,
so they can at least see the view,
and enjoy the breeze at the top.

And as I left the garden,
I looked back and smiled,
Because even though they're different
They live in perfect harmony.
Because they all just want to see,
the view at the top.

Genuine sadness is all i feel
Whenever i see her face and hear her talk.
Because she was the butterflies in my stomach
Whenever i think about love.
But now she's just a stranger
Spending some words to get the day by.
She was the biggest what if in my life
That will never be answered in a long while.

Murderers
Toothless Nono May 2016
We are all murderers.
And you'd be a fool to claim you are not.
For you have taken life everyday,
Since the day you learned how good the steak tasted
or how the ants floated funny when you drown them in water
Now, you'll call me a hypocrite.
But I had my share of killings, too.
And I don't resent myself for that.

Because I understand that we are on top of the chain.
How we value only ourselves and willing to sacrifice
Everything around us to continue breathing.
That in our perspective, we are the unique beings
crafted by engineers of the universe to take care of this place.
A role only us can fill in.
That everything we do is for the greater good of this place and those who share it with us.

So I embraced it.
The truth that we are murderers
Because we are different from others.
Living things blessed by intelligence from the gods.
And we always put it into good use.
For the greater good, of course.
I tried so hard because I haven't made a poem these past couple of weeks. It turned out reaaaaaaaally bad. I won't delete this though to serve as a grim reminder for me to stop slacking off.

I wanna start living my life.
And abandon the one inside my head
Where my dreams will come true
Travel around the world
Kiss the girls goodbye.
Marry the perfect one.

But alas,
My life is but a savage song.
Filled with empty chorus and despicable lines.
Never will be finished nor completed,
Always stuck at the first verse.

Toothless Nono Sep 2015
and the best i could do
is stare from afar,
gaze at those obsidian eyes
and get lost inside it.

i want to push myself onto you
and spout a few words,
but my rusty tongue will never work
whenever i face a beauty like you

so i'll go back to staring at perfection
a beauty in its purest form
that it burns my very soul

Toothless Nono Sep 2015
i cut myself open
but in the process
closed myself from this world

each little slit
covers up these tears
courtesy of their foul words

it's just a joke they say
a "harmless" way to pass time
but have you considered my feelings?

to be the center of attraction
like a lion in a circus
the crowd roaring for your demise

and it's always the same
like a fool
they all care when it's too late

now hold my pen
because you will listen
as i wear this necklace made of rope

you will hear me whisper in your ear
every night your forsaken soul tries to sleep
in the deepest corners of your dreams i will hide

i will remind you
of the innocent soul you took
because you though it was fun

A wind's tale
Toothless Nono Jul 2015
Hello

The wind whispers
As you walk past me
A different kind of pain
Surged through my whole being
A punch is tolerable
Unpleasant words would've been better
But the harrowing silence
Between two stars that were once part
Of a constellation
Is unbearable

Emotions protrude from us
A curious mix of love and anger
Swirls between our bodies
Have we forgotten
How beautiful of a storm we are
When we're together?

Not now

The wind once again whispers
For now this breeze will decide
The fate of two strangers
But before we sunder
Hear my whisper
I'll wait for an answer

How are you?

The City At Night
Toothless Nono Jun 2015
There was a man
Walking down a busy street
And all the people he saw
Held a tiny star in their hands
Shining so brightly
They make up constellations
As they cross paths with each other
It made him think the sky
Has fallen into this city

He though it was great
Because happiness was evident in their faces
As they stare into their stars
Lost in their thoughts

But why does it feel wrong?
He asked himself
As he looked up to the sky
And saw the true stars he longed for
Observing him from miles away
In another galaxy, another world
Only then he realized
That these people miss out the true beauty
This place has to offer

I've always wanted to be naked in front of you
Not naked in a way you would think
Without the clothes and jeans
But naked
Without all the secrets and walls
To let you in to my soul
For you to see my chaotic thoughts
To take a glimpse at my deepest fears
To marvel at my arduous dreams
To laugh at my embarrassing moments
To cry at my forlorn stories

After this, know that
This is the most intimate moment
I can share with you
For I have never let anyone
See me this naked

Lustrous Waves
Toothless Nono Apr 2015
I'd like to think
That the stars from above guided me to you
A sailor lost in a stormy sea
Into a sanctuary where a maiden lives
Reigniting a dead fire that
turned a heart made of stone
Into vats of molten rock.

And whenever I rest my gaze
Upon those mysterious eyes
A pang of pain strikes my chest
As if the universe is reminding me
That you're a lover I have long lost
In another life, another realm, another world

But the currents of life held us in liaison
And we swim in this vast sea
Knowing that one day
The currents will wash us away
On the same shore where it all began

The Egress Of Thy Ignorance
Toothless Nono Mar 2015
Have I ever told you
The definition of insanity?

It's doing the same thing over and over again
Expecting results to change

You wake up
Brush your filthy teeth
Take a shower
Pick your best clothes
Eat your food
And spray that stupid fragrance of yours

You get out
You socialize
You work
You study
You do all the things
People label as
"Normal"

And tomorrow, you will do this again
Because you believe that this is sane
As long as the society accepts you

But no
Because you are stuck inside a loop
That everyone falls into
You don't dare to be different
You don't live
You just exist.

Now....
Have I ever told you
The definition of insanity?

She loved him
  So she said yes
Tears of joy stream down her face
As he put the ring on her finger
Under the tree where they met
Birds singing lullabies surround them
Wishing them a forevermore

Years pass

She loved him
  So she hid the pain
Blood streams down her face
As his knuckles kiss her lips
Shattering his fragile promises
Together with her bones

Weeks pass

She loved him
  So she set him free
A smile forms on her face
As she pulled the ****** knife from his body
A pool of blood forms on her feet
Joy and grief filled her soul

Days pass

She loved him
  So she went with him
A blank face was all that is left
As she hanged herself from that tree
Birds singing lullabies surround her
Comforting her troubled soul

For far too long I have waited
But tonight, under a blanket full of stars
A promise will be made
Tied by a string covered in lies

Tell me your secret
And allow me to caress your soul,
I'll please it in every way possible
And leave you wrecked inside a case of hope.

I'll tell you another secret*
A tear will fall
From that pretty face of yours

For I am a wish you don't want to come true

Help me scream at the face of the moon
Leave me be in my state of restlessness
Until I realize what I need to be

Let me not to the people that I do not know
Heave me out of relationships that I do not deserve
Let me be in my state of restlessness
Until I figure out what is wrong

Ignore the spaced daze inside my eyes
Do not give attention to the cries of my heart
Let yourself be free of your own intention
And let me be with my feeling of restlessness

Toothless Nono Jan 2015
For now, you will lie there, asleep.
Oblivious to the thoughts of many.
Free from the prying eyes of the world,
Into a place where every dream is a possibility,
In a universe where the stars holds you dearly.

In a hundred years, we'll meet again.
Same old smiles will form on our face
As we talk about the memories
The laughter and the tears
Everything that made us feel alive.

Until then, please wait for me.
Find the peace you've longed for
And enjoy every minute of it.
When I get there I'll make sure.
To tell you the story of a young man
Who struggled to stitch the remains
Of a universe shattered into pieces.
