I've seen foreign stones bleed out fountains of wanderlust down your waterfalls
I've seen shards of mirrors swimming in the ripples of your sea
The one's that still hold the reflection belonging to the wandering passerby on your streets
I've watched as droplets of ink from a sunset sky pour onto your maps
Colouring in the roads that lead to your history
I've seen the flowers in your gardens spread their fragrance onto the sleeves of those lost in your alleys
And the soil underneath them surrounds the seeds of friendship that they leave behind
I've seen hope in the layers of your canyon rock
And resilience in the avalanches of snow that tumble down your mountains
I've seen the architecture of your emotions towering over my outstretched hand

And now I sit by the water trying to paint a picture of your roads on its surface
My hand reaches out into the distance, waiting for the light of your moon to embrace it
And I watch as the stars paint constellations that remind me of you
I dwell in the lonesome nostalgia, recollecting every fading memory
Hoping that when the sun glitters on the surface of your water
You'll see me sitting there, painting a picture of you

I dreamt
we left
to live
as hippies...

daisy chains
grass in my hair
I push a dandelion behind your ear
smiling- joyful as I watch how the sun
peeks through the spaces between your eyelashes

we drive to the sea
and sleep on the beach
because we can.
we listen to vinyl
because it sounds better.
morning coffee on a mountain top
rich droplets spilt on the sleeves of our sweaters

I picture us
through a nostalgic lens
a poloraid pasted
to the inside cover of a beat up notebook

wild and free
free
to be what we couldn't be here.

secure as we live our lives
guided by the stars
inspired by the song Hippies by Allie and the roses.

I think of thoughts
That take me places
Find new friends
Meet old faces

I think of stories
That make me forget
The hurt and pain
But mostly regrets.

I think of times
When life was smooth sailing
Always a light ahead
Not tunnels darkening

This wanderlust
This need for a change
These old town people
Will always stay the same.

All these thoughts of mine
Are fleeting flights of fantasy
Where I’m not saying goodbyes
Just making new memories.

The horizon meeting the sky...

The sea of mysterious creatures...

The forest calling out to others...

Oh, how I wonder?

It's beautiful;

It's scary.

I'm so very wary.

The world is known to be cruel,

It has so much to do.

Know that you're not the only one to fall apart...

I know everyone gets lost with no spark.

However, there is something else...

Look out for our footprints, it can be anyone or anything.

Wanderlust is what will make us sing.

Sing with the birds and hear their plea's.

It's truly such a wondrous thing.
I love to wander.

Your voice haunts me.
My aching for you is like a hint of perfume on a stranger's neck that sends me -for a moment- back to childhood to my mother's arms, her humming in my hair -
a half-remembered dream slipping through the window into the night.

Will I ever know the taste of the air? I imagine it tastes like honeysuckle and laughter.
Will I ever dip my feet into your star-drenched skies?
Will I ever watch the sun setting to the sound of cicadas singing their wild hymns?
Will I ever wake to mornings heavy-laden with mist clinging to the pines, dense and fragrant?
Will my feet ever wear the mountain paths in prayer and wonder?
Will I ever call you home?

Thank you so much for reading.
**I’m staying at my fathers house in Ohio right now and dreaming of moving to NC. I’m tempted every day to pack my things and start driving. But there’s a right season for everything and I know it’s wise to wait. But God my heart is screaming for a new life.

I just want to be on the cliff at Tintagel
Looking to the castle, & Merlin's cave.
Or Bigbury beach, on the sea tractor.
Or hanging off a rock at Peak District
Or hanging off a tree in Holborough

Maybe further afield than England,
Coffee with her at Montmartre
Or hiking in the regions of Inca
And bathing in coves of Costa Rica
Or climbing pyramids of Cancun

A list of things to do once lockdown ends

When things go south
Travel
When it doesn't all fit
Travel
When colours get dull
Travel
When monotony overflows
Travel

Travel
Because there is no use staying
You are a passenger
You have always been
Travel
Because you must one day go
So why not set out in your today too?
Travel
Because life is fleeting and time ain't still
Because as your soul grows weary
It needs freshness instilled !
Travel
Because there is no one good time to go
Because you can always get out and let it all flow
Travel my friend, don't waste quietly in thy hermit cove
For there is a great lot you aught still to see
And there is a great lot your soul daily does sought
Travel
.. needn't pack away, keep thy baggage at bay
For you are not leaving.. hands-full !
Nor your gold, neither valor shall you take back
Travel
Let the air of those gone-bys rinse through as you soak their yonder sighs;
Travel, as the sights of the bygone monumental leaves you mesmerized !
Travel
Don't despair, the show goes on without you dear,
Travel anyway .. and often. and you shall soon find thy home awfully near !

I'm not that good looking and smart
But you bring my life into a beat of heart
Because of you and your art
For you, I will never be apart

A man of not so many words
But I'll think of writing you a poem is a must
That writes you a tarnished stardust
That brings us to wanderlust

Had so many masterpiece
But the artist I adore brings me at peace
Even though the lyrics are chaotic,
The art itself needs understanding, the art is so harmonic

Ignorant people just walk away and leave
Didn't appreciate what the artist want to perceive
Trust me now you make me complete
Not just your art but it makes us acrete

If another art comes out, gonna check it out
But I know who's my one and only artist no doubt
I have written so many poems you should know I am devout
My poems showed it as your name they shout

Gonna come back as my heart always search for you
My art and you I wanted them to grow
We'll get through this rain gonna have our own rainbow
We'll be shinning through those past of tomorrow
Even though I check those beautiful masterpieces made by other artists I always search for you my favorite artist.

my soul craves the intimacy
the earth shares between the sky and the horizon
with innocent, raw
and gracious beauty
