I saw him on a subway train
We looked on each other
The whole ride.
Not a single word,
No secret smiles.
Just a look,
deep in the eyes.

Maybe imagining the life
We could have together
Sitting on the white sand
Of Coney Island beach,
Enjoying our cosy home,
Getting warm near a fire place
On amazingly snowing day.

And then a cruel squeaking wheels noise made him leave the train
And took all our dreams away.

We won't see each other again.
See you in another life
My love

Don't trust trains
They take you places, shuffling
Across steel paths cut for them
And take you for the pleasure of places
With  no thought of the coming back,
Not of home

Don't trust trains
They sprinkle your sense of home
Across a wilderness of bright faces
With a sense of shallow humour, dark as
You'll never meet them again, like all
Upon rare returns all has changed, trains have swept all on, flash
Don't trust trains

Don't step to the pedastal, platform
Lest you've been warned a thousand times and
Disregarded every word
For the churning of wheels, you
Have laughed with a wheeze at the choke of belonging
And wished for more, I
Wish not to see you on the train

For just one time, if you are ready
To love and lose me
I'm here, bitterly tossed
At your sweet lap to take some hours of each other
Sprinkled on our lips like momentary dew
Until we evaporate and leave only the salt of loss
Adding what we can to life, no
Unless you really are ready for that
Never trust trains
I'm travelling on a train! A poem about making friends while travelling and losing them just after they become precious to you, after they're made indispensible, it's sad, but you can love and lose and feel happy for it, I find

Streetlamps pass by my windowpane
As the wheels turn, so does the day
I feel the weariness creep onto my brain
My eyes watch the sky as it turns gray

Back at the tracks I worked myself out
Blisters tore into my soles and soul
But I know when I reach the end of the route
My life will soon again be caught in my control

Because I know that my darling will be waiting there
And we'll both have a life just for us

She's gonna meet me, gonna kiss me from my head to my neck
She's gonna see me, gonna greet me with a ***** peck
And then we'll come home to our children at the time of the stars
Somehow I will get there by trains, planes, or cars

No matter how strong the wind may be
No matter the deadliness of the sun
I'll walk and wait throughout the barren country
Just so I can be with my loved one

Because I know she'll be standing, looking fair
And she'll embrace me at the stop of the bus

She's gonna meet me, gonna kiss me from my head to my neck
She's gonna see me, gonna greet me with a ***** peck
And then we'll come home to our children at the time of the stars
Somehow I will get there by trains, planes, or cars

The wind is growing colder now
It's been hours since I've been indoors
My toes are stiffer than I would allow
I don't think they'll again touch my home's floors

As hunger and sleep dominate my sides
I see my sweetie still waiting alone
The visions push me and become my guides
Because my unfortunate days are agone

She's gonna meet me, gonna kiss me from my head to my neck
She's gonna see me, gonna greet me with a ***** peck
And then we'll come home to our children at the time of the stars
Somehow I will get there by trains, planes, or cars

Be a child again
come along with me
to make-believe and magic
hopes and fanciful dreams

that's where you'll find it
the peace you're looking for
when you drop your defenses
your masks and your schemes

just believe in fairies
elves and leprechauns
watch for rainbows
pick some flowers
dance out in the rain
sing silly songs
laugh and play

wave madly to a passing train**

find a world of simple pleasure
be a child again
come along with me
**I had an aunt who lived at the end of a street on a slight hill...below the hill was the train track. We loved to visit her because we knew we'd have a chance to listen for a train coming and run out and wave to it. When the caboose passed, we waved the hardest And when the conductor was there and waved back we were thrilled and felt so special. A favorite memory that's why I let that line have its own space. :-)

Sleep eludes me
Like the midnight train
Leaving the station
All aboard!
I lost my ticket
And off it goes
Taking my dreams
Far far away
Goodbye sweet dreams

When you say
"My friend and I..."

I hear
"My ex lover and I..."

I can read between
The lines
And darling you're such
An easy book to
Read.

I have gut feelings
Signals
Warnings
Of danger and excitement

And I had a gut feeling
That I was going to see
Something unpleasant.

And maybe running into
You and the ex
On the blue line train
Wasn't unpleasant

But it certainly wasn't
A welcomed surprise.

Train whistle late at night
Fills me with a melancholy fright
Living in a world that is not right
In the moonlight, past midnight
A late-night blight until the next daylight

Imagine how many people
Have fallen temporarily in love with you
On the train
On the street
In the car
In your room
Or after you'd fallen in love with them.

to that bespectacled beauty
whom i fell in love with on the train
i wish i could've told you how i felt
i wish i could've held your hands
before you alight the train.
