We were scraped hands
we were exhaustion showing through;
we were messy hair after naps all to prove
we loved how we lived
and we lived how we loved
but then - we grew up
and minutes turned to seconds,
and weeks turned to days
and soon enough there we were
grown ups, in a daze.

time moving faster than it ever did before
every day, suddenly a bore.
thinking more from the core
don't know how we ever swore
this world would never turn us stone
turn into all the things we say we won't
waiting to see if the bad would outweigh hope.

never thought being a grown up would be tough,
then we grew up and we've had enough.

But you swore we would make it out alive
Swore we'd make it through
That you would never go back on your word
Only time will tell if you do
I believe our love is stronger than anything
I swore I wouldn't love you
But its true
Theres something about you
That I cant find in anyone else
One conversation is all it took
To make me love you again
I just got over you, the guy i dreamed abt for 9 months
And here you walked in and talked to me like
Like u care
Just one look was all I needed to fly
But u have me more than a look so
Is it more than am love now

Shall one dare to raise the question,
"What is the legitimacy of His Majesty's ruling?"
One would surely be relieved of their head.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Tis alright, however, since there is still freedom.
"What such freedom exists, when one cannot question another?"
Much freedom still exists in other aspects, so fear not, ignorant one.
Anyways, you should have no reason to question His rule,
For you have served this kingdom well, my feigning innocence.
You, sir, have done wondrously in raising your sword to the enemy.
"But, Father, if I may interject, how come I do not feel free?"
You swore your blood and marrow to the wealth of His Majesty,
And now one such as you dares to raise that prickling question?
You shall have your freedom in due time, my withered husk.
"Father, who is the Majesty?"
You do not ask of the King's personal affairs.
"But, respectfully, I do want to know who it is I am fighting for."
You are fighting on the behalf of our country, for the greater good.
"Father, that does not answer my question. Who is he?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Fine, my woeful son--do you wish to know who the King is?
He is standing right in front of you,

And he orders your execution.
You
I can still remember vividly
How you came into my life
Intimidating, mysterious and deep.
Now,
I just want to dive deeper into you.

You're the one I want to stand beside me,
as we view the horizon beyond.
You're the one I want to sit with me,
in the streets,
talking about,
with sense and without.

You're the one I want to be,
my shoulder in my darkest and brightest moments.
You're the one I want to kiss my hand under the stars.
You're the one I wanna argue with, fight with
and cuddle with, in the coldest of nights.

Will you ever remember
The Spring times
We swallowed butterflies so often
Our stomachs refused to digest them
And the cold Winter days
The sun hid behind the clouds
And cried heavy rain
Utterly jealous of the heat
We made each other feel.

Will you ever remember
The early mornings
You swore
Your love was pure
And each time
You promised me eternity

Because this is not what I see
Nor is it what you want of me.

I swore I would protect you
I didn't
I was to busy to see it
I didn't pay attention
I couldn't see what was hurting you
Then I realized too late
your glass was overflowing
your plate collapsing with all the weight and the pressure
The weight that crushed your heart
The thing that flooded your soul
The boy that left your heart pulverized and your soul water damaged
I didn't know it was that bad
I wasn't able to see with all the problems in front of me
I didn't see the obvious
that you weren't okay at all
you were right and front of me and i still didn't see
the way your voice changed,
the way your clothes changed,
the way your face looked like you always got done crying,
or the weight you lost and the new hallows in your cheeks and your rib cage jutting out
I didn't see any of that and neither did anyone else
we were all caught up in our own problems to notice you
I didn't know until after you were dead what you were feeling
and I can never forgive myself for it
I cry every night because of it and can barely breathe when I remember the old you
or the you you were after he had broke your heart
and i hate myself for not being there, cause if I had you'd be here with me
happy and alive, but i was clueless and young
now I know better than to lose another friend
and now I know I'll see you again
I miss you everyday and wish I'd told you I love you
