The sun is going away
Peeking a little light through trees
Giving brilliance to the simple leaves
Twinkling waving goodbye
When your done visiting the other side
Waking them with shine
While we all have one sleep
Warm us all again tomorrow please
Don’t really need to ask
It will happen regardless of me
Something you can always count on
ranveer joshua Jun 2020
after this day he starts to disappear again
where minute by minute
day by day
he goes
back into his spot in the sky
where he lets me bask in his warmth

but he's greedy
not letting me fully encapsulate
the joy and delight he provides
by taking away a minute of his light
each day

hopefully he doesn't hide behind the clouds
on june 23
otherwise this poem is a waste
if one were to even call this a poem
i get sad thinking about how the sun won't fully get to enjoy the summer season with me.

Hope shines bright
Vigorous orange wisps
Engulfing my sight
Eclipsing numberless edifice

I am drawn to you my light
Bathing my presence with your warmth
glow tonight

The setting of the sun
Marks the most beautiful part of day
A mellow everglow
Prismatic flowers enwreathing
my heart with snug

The setting of the sun
Marks the Remains of the Day
Not one of solemn rainy mist
But one of graceful frosted tint
Showing me strength that lies within

A time of day
Not too late nor too early
For a Butler's life a sight to marry
It fills his heart with love,
old but gold
passion untold.
I hope you're feeling better now
Illusory hope that never burns
cold
as days go
dreary, colourless.

Till whens't his love will be expressed
Will let his days no more repressed

Warmth glow of evening light
Fuel him with hope
to drive and fight
To see the same sight
My evening light.

i loved
comparing you
to sunsets
but now i am afraid
that i did

for sunsets
are portraits
of beautiful endings--

and ours was nothing to keep
i hope you find that beautiful ending with someone you truly love

Tonight the clouds go on,
and on,
and on,
forever in a sky so navy blue.
Parallel lines
stretching beyond light's reach.
I desire
to fall up
into the dark spaces
between.

My stars, the lights of earth.
“I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone. It's not. The worst thing in life is ending up with people who make you feel all alone.” - Robin Williams

You watch as moments are surrounded by an iridescent envelope
They transform into memories that float towards the sunset sky
Colouring the shadows with their flamboyant reds,
Resting in the clouds amongst soft blues
Prismatic and vibrant as they become the entourage
That accompany the sun’s goodbye
And eventually, they're gone, light years away
Now a part of a glittering nebula somewhere far

The night comes charging with its sombre hues,
Decorated with stars, waiting for you
To collect your dreams and take them far
And you watch as your dreams are tied with luminous ribbons
As they float above towards a boundless sky
To meet your memories somewhere in between
And before you feel the new day arise
They become one, entangled within your mind

And as you recall those beautiful days,
Those minutes from another time,
your memories will meet all your dreams
And come back to you
Surrounded by a foreign fluorescence
Disguised as gifts of time.

"I wish I wasn't so different
from everyone."
"You've got more in common
With people than you think."
"Oh yeah? Like what?"
"Well, once upon a time, we were smaller.
Then, we grew taller. Or rounder.
Maybe more than we'd like, but we all grew stronger."
"Well, I don't feel very strong right now."
"And that's okay. We all fall. Sometimes like a sack of bricks.
Sometimes with the grace of a sunset.
But at some point, we all get up.
And when you're ready to stand, I think you'll find
There's fight left in you yet."

Summer is suffusing the air with ease,
While winter begins in my eyes,
I am overcome with this lingering and lonely breeze,
There's so much pain in the sunset at day's demise.

This demise is like that of my dearest dreams,
When I awake to a frozen mourning,
I am languid and lame while my cautious soul screams,
And I make it inaudible, I suffocate its warning.

Shame on my mind and my synthetic skin,
I am rain, I am weeping and sombre,
While wearing sun's silk and casting calm as my kin,
My budding flowers are quickly wilting beneath my old armour.

siren song
splash the jagged rocks
hopelessly incandescent
awaiting sailors call
from faraway isles

mermaid tails
iridescent scales
rainbow ripples
extend out
ships to sea

serpent teeth
from depths of black
sink into wood
cries fall deep
drowned

pirate swagger
cutlass clangs
of power
lustrous treasure
buried

open waves
breathless orange
skies of amethyst
and gold
ocean tales told
