No One Dies In Lilydale

Lilydale

Driving through a misty autumn night
I lost my way with no one in sight
A ghostly town in the gloom appeared
Eerie visions in a haunting light
Old gingerbread houses on a silent street
The night wind it starts to wail
Not a soul about here to meet
A signpost foretells of a strange tale
Reading “no one dies in Lilydale”
Each home had a strange shingle
Reading them my spine did tingle
Talk you lost love step this way
We speak with the dead every day
Over forty signs on every picket gate
Lilydale is the center of the spirit talkers
My soul was troubled I had lost my love
If only I could speak with her from up above
How I would say what had been missed
Her perfect loving and her sweet kiss
Trembling as I knocked on the door
An aged wrinkled woman I saw
Come here my son come in from the rain
Your love shall speak to you once again
We sat on her sofa she took my hand
She said your love is here
Beside you she does stand
You two will meet again
When your time on earth is done
Now you must take care of your young son
Do everything that you can
To bring him up to be a good man
I could feel her, she is close to me
My terror is gone I lose my fears
My eyes are streaming loving tears
I say I love you honey please don’t go
Please stay with me how I need you so
The old lady said your love has gone
I drive away out of the misty place
Tears still streaming down my face
My task is now renewed
My son I will never fail
You know that no one dies in Lillydale
Lily Dale was incorporated in 1879 as Cassadaga Lake Free Association, a camp and meeting place for Spiritualists and Freethinkers. The name was changed to The City of Light in 1903 and finally to Lily Dale Assembly in 1906. The purpose of Lily Dale is to further the science, philosophy, & religion of Spiritualism.[1]

Lily Dale is a hamlet located in the Town of Pomfret on the east side of Cassadaga Lake, next to the Village of Cassadaga. Located in southwestern New York State,[2] it is one hour southwest of Buffalo, halfway to the Pennsylvania border. Lily Dale's year-round population is estimated to be 275. Each year approximately 22,000 visitors come for classes, workshops, public church services and mediumship demonstrations, lectures, and private appointments with mediums.[3] In recent years, guest lecturers have included Lisa Williams, Dee Wallace, members of "Ghost Hunters," Tibetan monks, James Van Praagh, Dr. Wayne Dyer, and Deepak Chopra.

Isolated
Surrounded by water.
No one but me and the friends i can not see.
Once visible
Transformed into energy.
The sun always keeping the sand under heat.
Open skies
Enormous nights
Sounds of the natural world to be heard
Trees, clear oceans and home in sight.
All i want to hear is wind singing to me
All i want to feel is the water waving through me
Wetting my hair and allowing me to wish
I could spend eternity in this
Nothing but the rocks and open field
Setting me to imagine all of this could be real.
This is what i want to be
Free
Alone but not really
Alone
This is where i want to be
Home
I'd love
To go
Home
If i cant see you
Come with me.

Listen to the slow steady gong of the death knell
From down the street at the old clock tower
The tell tale tolling of the old tower bell.

In the square, no one dares approach that well,
Where sick beat the quick, and sweet turns sour,
Listen to the slow steady gong of the death knell.

Sinking into the hearts a fear no one can quell,
Making the strong weak, causing brave men to cower,
The tell tale tolling of the old tower bell.

The streets are abandoned as dark spirits swell,
Beseting the village, all light they've devoured,
Listen to the slow steady gong of the death knell.

The people were running, scared as they fell
Yet, amidst all the chaos, marking the hour
Was the tell tale tolling of the old tower bell.

Dark and deserted, there the demons will dwell
Betwixt the spirits and shadows with chaotic power.
Listen to the slow steady gong of the death knell,
The tell tale tolling of the old tower bell.

In my dreams the spirits float far and fast ahead,
Delivering all the souls of the deceased in trips,
Carried to the one abyss their bones still hide the red,
Keep the truth when they are dead, so they are torn as sticks.
These bones carry the truth till they meet one with life,
Reach the fields and the dead part all their fear
With a silence that is deft they use a hatchet or a knife,
So that none can tell that death's dark spirit is quite near.
In the meadow none can see that foot prints have been made,
They walk until dawn is come, so they all must roam.
Misty and translucent, above the earth of wet brown clay,
They shall keep walking until they've found deaths home.

Day turns to night, crowds on the road,
Bonfires ignite, bangers explode.
Fireworks fly high, burst in the air
Dogs bark and cry, smoke everywhere.
Chinese lanterns float way on high
Flicker and burn, light up the sky.
Candle-lit pumpkins that terrorise
With wicked grins and evil eyes.
Cobwebs, spiders, vampires and bats
Ghosts and monsters, witches black cats,
Skeletons skulls, crosses, tomb stones
Look wonderful haunting most homes.

Children galore take to the street
Knock on each door, play trick or treat
Costumes vary, monsters and such
Some quite scary, some not so much
Bags big and small, buckets or tins,
Carried by all to keep treats in.
Getting goodies at every door,
Bars and lollies and so much more;
Monkey nuts, gum, fruit and sweets too
Money from some, a coin or two.
Kids excited, loving it all,
Each delighted with their own haul.

Halloween treats like colcannon,
Barmbracks with a ring in each one,
Traditional games for everyone,
Snap apple great Halloween fun.
Scary stories of days gone by,
Horror movies to terrify,
Howls and screams, nervous laughter,
Many bad dreams for weeks after.
There is no other night like Halloween,
People more frightened than they've ever been.
A great occasion for young and old,
Cannot wait for the next one, truth be told.
Happy Halloween to all #poets and #dreamers everywhere >:)

youll learn to
respect
the demons
you share
this earth with
when you realize
that some of them
reside within you

Be silent in that solitude.
Which is not loneliness-for then.
The spirits of the dead, who stood.
In life before thee, are again.
In death around thee, and their will.
Shall overshadow thee; be still.

Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849).
Poem for Halloween.

Seething through the broken night
Shush the moment brought to light

The whispers heard by crying sound
as footprints cross the solemn ground

Gates passed through to Bachelor's Grove
Eyes of cold and constant flows

She haunts your thoughts and every step
Shivering spine with goose bumps left

Ghostly figures at night time stray
Orbs on  film can't look away

Look right through the fields of stone
Aged with time and weathered tone

Shoulders tapped with haunted thought
The air was empty, your mind is caught

Turned around with no one there
Hallow's Eve with more to scare

Visions of past and Chicago's dead
Rise on up through blackened thread

Screams of terror and morbid sins
Stopped in tracks, they're gone again

Reach the gate of rusted steel
Fallen down on deadly keel

Out of the depths of the spirit's trove
Passed through the gates of Bachelor's Grove
a little Halloween themed piece about Bachelor's Grove cemetery in Chicago, a really haunting experience

The alcoholic spirit,
   When by it I'm possessed,
Makes me crazy, (or near it),
   And often much depressed;

But the good spirit Mary
   (Belovèd Mary Jane!)
Is Alcohol's contrary:
She makes me peaceful and sane.

Chapter 1, 2, and 3
what would it take to get rid of you
And set me free
Chapter 2 and 3
nothing can get rid the killers I see

Chapter 4
Christ,
I'm In a place where I rather not be,
I lost sight of mind,
This life is beyond the open sea,
I tried to escape,
But my spirit is never set free
Christ,
I beg and plead,
If I were to die
promise to rescue me?
I don't see my own shadow anymore,
With life you never know what's in store
Every day it rains even more
Chills send down my spine
this place is war
