She
Speaks
So less
Taking caution,
No one to hurt

One day
She might
Forget to speak

Hurting all.

in misery
she lived her life
they judged her as a freak
for she'd no voice to call her own
no voice to sing or speak
but they were wrong to judge her so
to not even give the chance
for even though she was a mute
oh, boy, could that girl
dance

sometimes i sit and watch them ponder,
mindless thoughts I think but none to spill,
no words to spill out onto the blank page that i have carved into their minds,
it drives them insane, makes them furrow their eyebrows, scowl, ponder, wonder,
i do not speak,
for words twist and turn, knotting into lies,
i do not lie,
so i do not speak.
simple as it is,
however i think its funny how they try to understand me,
they struggle to understand,
i believe they are blind to the common sense that was so given to them,
maybe it was taken away,
then again,
if they wish to understand, understand me,
just look at the words I can write.

Who are you? I will probably never know.
Your words are decorating my bending soul.
In silent mornings when I drink my aromatic coffee
Reality disappears, and hypnosis unfolds.

Who are you? The longing that knows my heartache,
Words that I used to believe so easily?
A mute Self, between much white and much black,
Looking constantly for himself in the gloomy parade?

Who are you? You are the world's greatest discovery
Who learnes all about the soul's immortality?
Who sees ice and fire in two distinct colours
And silence speaks to you in tremendous words?

Who are you? A soul with congestion of lava
Who can erupt anytime, leaving behind just waste?
Or a heart pulsing, passing through conversion
And hides his feelings through lyrics and prose?

Who are you? Are you heaven's demonic angel
Who lives and has the courage to shout in the silence,
Who often plays serenades through written poems,
Through mute words, non-words with the gates closed?

Who are you? The one who thinks white will turn gray?
The one who hopes one day black can become white?
Try to see in the fog more colours of your life,
Don't care about time, dual space or duration.

I wrote every syllable in flawless meanings,
             my fingers playing my emotions.
A fine tuned tapestry of silence,
telling you every thing you needed to hear..
            Then you caressed my face.
Hand gestures solidifying the meaning of our every word.

She watched the world through a sheet of glass.

Flowers blossom as she opens her eyes. The sky is a radiant blue. Dewdrops glitter in the light, perched on emerald leaves. She does not smile. She does not laugh. She opens her eyes, and they are blank, and they are dull. And they are dead.

The trees boast vibrant foliage. The sun is bright and relentless as laughter and the cries of children waft through the air. She lies on her side, staring out the window, lashes blinking slowly and evenly, and those azure eyes could have been the envy of the world. But they are glazed over, and she watches the world move on without interest.

The sky is on fire. The wind is painted with vivid colors, saffron and burgundy and crimson. The very Earth is alive with a passionate soul. The air is sharp, heralding winter, and the people celebrate while they can. But still she lies there, eyes still blinking slowly and dully. She will not speak a word. She will not make a sound. She will not move a muscle. Her chest does not even lift. But her eyes open, then close, then open again.

Winter has arrived. The trees droop, snow weighing down their branches. The bitter cold keeps everyone indoors. The city is silent, cloaked in white and shades of gray. All sound is muted. A hush has fallen over the world.

The girl blinks. Once. Twice. And moves no more.

For how could her parent have known that she was both mute and blind?

You were the sound of waterfall.
Great and mighty
You broke your waters
On the underlying stones.
I was foolishly brave to dive in
And impudent to fell.

You threw me so keen
And once I collapsed
All of the sounds came out of my body
Odd feeling
The world is on mute.

I wish I can believe
When you ask me how I am
Though your words of false concern
becomes muted by a high pitched tone ringing in my ears.

You only ever come
When you want to see something lewd
A stranger, a one night stand
Your pleasure is not my concern
How rude of you.

A so called friend
Who backstabbed me once before
I can't  listen
When your hands are painted with my blood
Are you here just to strip me of another layer once more?

My two caretakers
Who bound my hands and feet with repulsive diction.
The make believe stories they would tell me is fiction.
One day they'll act like water with a calm flow.
And most, a terrifying blizzard of snow.

My all time lover who broke my heart.
You try to help now, but it wasn't noted before.
A lot of the things that are happening now are because of your break up letter.
You are only here to pay for the damage of my brain and heart.
But I know you wanted to leave once you tore me apart.

And the people at my school
Who will pretend they knew me once I'm dead.
Who believe they knew the suffering yet it became apparent too late.
You act as if death is your motive to finally speak my name.
But you all have ignored the ghost girl roaming past the classroom door's window frame.

Your words of false concern
Is apparent to my eyes.
I can see that you have tried.
But "I'm sorry" isn't a good response to someone who is
Already sorry for being this way.
I've grown to tune out people and push them away because they want nothing more than to hurt me or get something back in return or just plainly do not care.

Listen.
Hear the dissonance between my words
And question if I meant to pause
Or if it was just the natural fluctuation of my voice
-
I’m screaming for attention when I don’t speak
In the way my eyes widen
        And my head lowers

Inhale.
        Slowly now
So that the air moving through your lungs
Isn’t so much as a whisper

Quiet.
It’s the pauses we take when we talk on the phone
        No voices exchanged
        But the smiles are content
Resting on the absence of noise between us

Learn.
        I’m deaf to the world
And you’re the only one I seem to be able to hear
        Despite the void of sound
-
        God, you sound beautiful
        My ear drums don’t vibrate
        But my heart does
So I understand everything you’re saying before your mouth moves

Exhale.
Watch the way my chest falls
Tell me with you hands if I’m not letting go slow enough

Realize.
They say a picture’s worth a thousand words
But the vacancy of audio is worth your attention

Silence.
        It’s golden
Even when we erase it with straining vocal cords
Understand that speech is a waste of oxygen
        Every moment we spend speaking
Is a moment closer to our last breath

Listen.
        Hear the world on mute
Hear the dissonance in the emptiness
Hear what I have to say
        When my lips don’t open.
