There was a circuitous girl who had little grace,
But she was demure with a pretty face.
She had never ever been asked to prom,
So she binge watched sappy romocoms.

One day, a good Knight, asked her for a dance,
She leaped up and grabbed the wonderful chance,
She agreed to go with him for a New Years ball,
But it escaped her mind that she can’t dance at all.

The good knight placed his hand on her waist,
and drew her close as they lissomely paced.
He suddenly turned her like a spinning top,
Once twirled, she just wouldn’t stop!

Off she spun, like a merry-go-round,
Upsetting dancers all around.
Windswept like a tornado— menacing,
Her turns were faster than cars in Grand Prix racing.

The good knight, confused and unsure what to do,
Went and helped himself to a piece of chicken or two
While she tossed into a mighty spin,
He went over to the bar and drank all the gin.

Towards the buffet table, she turned course,
Where he sat explaining centrifugal force.
She crashed into the hungry good Knight,
Who collected himself and stood upright.

She stopped spinning and sat quite still,
The knight drew her up with heroic skill.
She looked confused and completely askance.
But our good Knight was also brave, so he asked her to dance.

I am indeed your only knight,
I'm here to protect you, with all of my might.
I serve you my queen, my ruler, my love,
I'll gamble my everything, even my life.

I swear to you, with all of my heart,
I'll only protect you, and everyone you love.
With danger ahead, beyond your control,
I will protect thou, with all that I have.

I promise that, the truth will rise,
But neither nor lies, until that I die.
Still serving my majesty, with life on the line.
I would accept death, if it means you survive.

And I, as a knight of my queen,
I serve with courage and dignity.
For your safety and love,
Through the heaven or not.
I specially made this for C.H.C. <3

My knight does not need to be
in a shining armor,
nor blessed with prestige
or countless honor.

It only needs to be you,
someone who could wield
a sword, respectable enough
to be able to strike a heart of gold.
This piece was inspired by Heathe Ledger's movie "A Knights Tale" thus from where I took the title. I loved the film so much I made a poem out of Jocelyn's love for William. One of my favorite lines from the film was when Jocelyn wouldn't tell William his name and he said, "perhaps Angels don't have names, but only pretty faces".

Rose indeed have thorns
But it's a risk I'm willing to take

If I wish to have that rose,
I must accept that it comes with thorns

And I think it's what makes it beautiful
If I got hurt by the thorns, then It's my fault for holding such a beautiful creation the wrong way.

No, love.
I am not a knight in shining armour.
My armour is bent and dented and
cracked, and underneath it are cuts
and bruises and scars from the horrors
of countless battles I've seen, and
some of them almost did break me.

No, love.
I am not a knight in shining armour.
But if you'll have me,
I'm prepared to take a vow and swear
an oath of fealty and devotion and love.

You need only ask.
You need only ask.

The greatest strength I have
is what I built
after you destroyed everything.

I became my own knight in shining armor.

"Why can't you shut up?"

Says the knight to the bard
For the knight knows agony
When the bard sings his song.

"Are you mad?" asks the lyricist, expression surprised.
"Anyone would be joyed to hear their battles become rhyme."

But the knight wasn't happy, for he knew the truth
That the painful deaths of many men hid behind the tune.
That the failure as a protector would haunt him in song
That sleepless nights without father, husband, or son is what he did wrong.

A pessimist others call him, a realist stands true
For reality is too harsh to be handled by a fool.

If you want to save the world
Prepare for just bad news
You can not save the heartless and cruel
You can not change the unwaverable

You can not convince those who refuse to see.
You can not help those who do not ask
Your love means nothing to those who don't love you back

Prepare for utter disappointment
For it is not a 'you give and you take' it is a 'you give and they get'
There is no balance to them
No yin and yang
No give and take
Only get and take
And a sweet, innocent personality to fake

But it's all an illusion
You mean nothing to them
You keep wasting hours and hours
Doting on them, but only giving them more power
Power over you that gets to their head
An infectious disease

They now hold everything over you, and all you can do is plead.
Plead for them to stop
Plead for them to let this drop
Plead for them to leave you alone
You wanted to help, not feel hate like you’ve never known.

How were you to know this hate existed?
You’d grown up in a world where people always listened.
This is completely new to you
These collective hateful, restricting, and narrow minded views

You wanted to save the world.
But the world didn’t want to be saved by you.

There shall come a time,
Where she no longer has to fight alone,
Where she does not even have to fight.
For he would be there with her,
For her.

Self Hatred consumes me
like a dragon chomping off the head of an innocent knight
What did the knight ever do to deserve this
All he did was try to do the right thing

And for this he was punished
