Sitting next to you
I felt like frozen fire
Nothing compares to how unaware
you felt, and how being with you was dire

Forgot how it felt to be someone
I burnt so much for no reason
You took it all away from me
to me your love was treason

I remember how you held me close
once you were my brightest light
you swore to protect me
for me you picked every fight

I know your life made you weary
and I felt for you, felt all the pain
I thought you needed me to forget
but admittedly you just weren't sane

I realized then that I had lost you long ago
It wasn't my responsibility
to save you from yourself
from lost dreams and your agony

This frozen fire got so cold
I burnt so much for no reason
I had to leave before my soul would have been sold
before entering the last cold season

And I know you beg for my return
and it pains me still to refuse
but your endless winter would never let me burn
and the fire is what I choose

because
i think if
you die
without
knowing

love in
this life,
that’s how
you’ll
spend
eternity.

alone.
frozen.

do you
think hell
is fiery?

i don’t.
i think
hell is
frozen.

I know you're colder
Than ice because around you
I feel numb inside
You're like snow, beautiful but frozen.

The dream is wonderful
but empty
until filled up, til it's full
filled with the idea of you
Love is like an avalanche
what a beautiful word for a disaster
how willingly we work on our own sabotage
Aren't we just the most silly creatures?
Feeling for another, one of our most valued features
Feeling recklessly even if something breaks
never stopping no matter how high the stakes

Snow came for me eventually
covering me up completely
For I am loved momentarily
maybe
I am frozen in place
waiting for spring
to sip on sweet juices once again
to leave on your chest nothing but flowers
I wait and count the hours
til the avalanche comes for me and devours
all that is in me

How many hearts will cause a man to fume
How many heats must be enraged with fire
How many hearts will a hungry soul consume
How many hearts actually follow their life's desire

How many hearts are frozen without a beat
How many hearts are left buried in the cold
How many hearts except total utter defeat
How many hearts never take off the blindfold

These questions we may never know
until we are the lost wandering souls
in the Styx's black meadow
while loved ones are left to condole

They're a frozen sun;  a
light that lives in
photos
Ever looked at someone's photo and felt their light, even though they are gone?

If I told you about the fifty mile trek I took,
with ice accumulating on my beard,
and shivering to sleep in the tiny hollow,
would you believe me?

What about the time they thought I was a terrorist
trying to assassinate the queen?
Or the time they took everything away from me;
my clothes, my hair, even my name?
Would you read it as fiction?

"That kind of thing doesn't really happen" you might say,
and I no longer care to argue my case anymore.
as you explain to me how, in a modern day society,
these kind of things things really work.

I wonder whether I should care,
as I nod dumbly to your every point,
telling me why you know, definitively,
that I am lying.

This is why my poetry shall refer only to emotions.
Nobody reads emotion as fiction;
you can feel it as they tug at your own-
A broken heart, a smile, a stray giggle.

Whether I made that journey is no business but my own,
but the cold I can describe perfectly;
Not biting, but stinging, and numb in every other sense.
The fear giving way to tears, which froze on my cheeks.

Besides, if this really is fiction, if I had really
made all of it up inside of my head,
would I still lie to you?
Of course I would.
Certain people sometimes say sharing their emotions is difficult and, while this may be true, very few people will deny how a person feels when they express themselves. Sharing details of certain experiences, however, is far more likely to taken with a pinch of salt. I don't much care for it in most instances.

As my body lays frozen over
By the ice that continually cools me,
I gently float, soundlessly in the
Tower surrounded by icy waves.

The landscape that I always look out to
Is unchanging and lifeless,
Sounds in the distance seldom
Resounding around my heart motionless.

I kick at stagnant air,
Almost as if something was there,
The tunes playing in my head
Enough for my heart and mind to share.

As my frozen body moves,
I continue to gaze out towards the landscape.
Not because the landscape is motionless,
But now, because my heart and mind
Have melded into the tunes
Playing in my head.
