How many of us have died
Trying to make more out of our lives?
How many of us slice open our skin,
Dying to love, to feel?

We jump from planes to laugh and smile...
What if instead our company stayed
For just a little while?

We are DYING to live,
And I do mean dying.
Our souls, locked away,
Batter our ribs and our hearts trying to escape.

I want to write,
I want to laugh, and sing, and draw,
I want to make lasting friendships
And give life my all.

Like so many others,
I am dying to live,
Dying to survive.
Because sometimes I feel trapped within myself.

Does it free you?
As you fly above the dark clouds,
Amidst wings of steel and rubber,
Dials, meters, readings distracting,
Pulling your eyes from horizons
But that's not why you're there.
It's that single moment,
Hidden above that grey barrier
When you pass a break
And look down on to the
Greens and blues and whites
Of everyday life
And at that moment.

You are free.
Truly.

I used to be a madman
Zipping through the silent skies
At the brink of dawn
When the blue barely got eaten by the mango sun
I used to feed on thrill
I used to charge into "danger zone"
Our Tomcat cutting through dense ether
I used to rule the aerosphere, but not alone
You were always behind my back
Always by my side
Always, my best friend, my brother
I miss you my wing man
I wish you were here
To see how we've finally melted
The icy cold heart of a man
His vengeance has now been
Taken over by much respect
We teamed up to strike down
Four MiGs, when called
To tackle crisis situation
And while I escaped what you did not
I'm sorry for you, for my loss
You could have been here
It could have been us
Lighting up the air
With our jet wash
Rev up, throttle, dodge, maneuver
Target, lock, missile, eject
A chase in our F-14 will never be the same
Not again, not without you
Between you and I, my friend
I was the bad example
So I'll return to school
To indoctrinate more like you
Thanks to my brother, I've grown up watching some of the best movies.

I think it's pretty obvious if you've watched this one; I'm curious if you can, guess which movie?

I hear the rustling of the leaves colliding upon
the others like a bumper car ride but no one is driving.
Voicing in motions that they are moved silently.

I envision the swaying, like the crest of natures
wave coalescing like feathers in flight anchored
till the season ebbs there dance to a fall.

I fly..
through the capacious sky
sit gleefully
sing my favorite song in heart
I open my pink note
write the date of the day
I still with my old sneaker
for the first moment stepped on unsimilar land
start to use foreign language to express
seeing the different architecture
differ with my country
I feel so amazed to meet new people
It's where Chaucer is born

One day
You'll feel the way I do
(I'm sure)
And stride your way over
And knock on my door

You'll promise
And swear
To do nothing at all
Except to be there
If ever I fall

We'll look at each other
And breathe
And exist
And hope
That the other one's presence persists

Your arms will surround me
And there we will stay
In calm, peaceful safety
Forever
This way

A low rumble within my soul,
a flash of light in my eyes,
blinding,
leaving me without a glint
of hope.
Tears,
much hotter than a normal rain.
My body trembles with the fear
of not knowing,
the pain of surprise.
The wind blows within me,
and my hair stands on end.
Fight-or-flight time;
so often I've stood to fight,
only to be the fool in the end.
This time I feel it,
electricity in my legs,
pulsing.
A signal to run,
I can already feel
my feet pounding the concrete
like a hammer,
blowing the sidewalk to pieces
while my toes crunch in my shoes.
I run,
as fast as my body will take me,
far away from the place
where my heart lies
in shambles,
scattered among our ashes.

Sun Gate by moonlight
The Ruins below glimmering
Dream light  shines bright
Ancient magic shimmering

To our souls the dreamscape experience is real
Our Consciousness connected -- together we stand
So much unknown except what I feel
The flutter of my heart, the touch of his hand

We take flight through the mist
As the world below gleams
Adventure beckons and I can't resist
So Mountain Man became the Man of My Dreams
A Lucid Dream of Machu Picchu

I posted this on February 20th, but sadly today accidentally deleted it. So I am re-posting.  My gratitude and apologies to the hundreds of you who already read it, the dozens of you that already liked it, and those of you who commented, encouraged me, and honored me when you posted it on your pages or added it to your collections. Keep dreaming, Lucid Dreamers!

Away amongst the dappled sky
You see me racing swiftly by
And harken to my engines cry
The heavens ever speeding nigh
For ****** will push me swiftly high

Tis skyward that I fly!

The jet stream takes me rapidly
The form aerodynamically
To the place I mean to be
A bullet shot from barrel, me!

So fast a blur is all you see…

To lofty places I ascend
The constellations to befriend
And through the space which has no end
I strike the fabric, make it bend

Before spacetime itself I rend…

I land in distant years behind
My eldest kin I hope to find
For in their strength they’ve become blind
A warning have I in my mind

“Beware, the future is not kind…”

And when my purpose here is done
They hear my mighty engines run
I launch once more toward the sun
My sonic blast, all hearing, stun

Like bullet shot from smoking gun!

Then back through rift I must return
Slowing by my retro burn
But soon a dreadful thing I learn
A comet speeding struck my stern

Stranded now, defeat I spurn!

For though my state is more then grave
Tis home my soul dose wholly crave
And so a plan I start to pave
A burnished sail my life will save

For I can ride a solar wave.

Now close to earth I soon will be
Approaching far too rapidly
For burning is my craft, yes she
The one who swiftly carried me

Crash! I plunge into the sea.

My ship is recked but I survive
Drifting eastward half alive
When to an island I arrive

And on said place, for life I strive.

Then after months of living there
Illness I take through lack of care
But then a ship, tall sailed and fair
Picks me up, off island bare
And gives me drought of spirit ere

Death claim me or age **** my hair.

And when I am safe home at last
Infirmity from me I cast
Recalling engines mighty blast
My journey to the distant past

And galaxies rushing toward me fast!

I write it down, just how you read
And tell it true to all who heed
And now conclude, for I am freed
With brand new rocket, lightning speed

What a wondrous life I lead…
Dedicated to my beloved spaceship Scarlet Thunder, she has brought me safely as far as Venus.

Glass half full,
but I feel mostly empty.
Hollow victories and cold failures
fill my glass.

Bitter liquids charge me,
change me.  Flow,
time flow.
Time to fly
on shaking wings.

I am drained as much by myself as by others.
