Our secrets followed us here
Into this aged room
With dusty walls
And a stale smell
That reminds me a lot of us
Stuck in these patterns
Of not telling the whole truth
For the sake of others
For the sake of ourselves
Saving face as if it were a race
To see who can hide the most
But my hands our tied
I can no longer be the one that lies
Because lying next to you
Has become a painful facade
A ridiculous charade
A song that’s been overplayed
A novel that needs an end
This is the moment that breaks us
When I stop biting my tongue
Until my mouth is filled with blood
This is the minute where truth floods
Downpour of rain
Drowning you in disdain

for the past few weeks I just haven't felt good
like the downpours I hit on my way to work
I've just been waiting to fall
pri Aug 2018
hey moon,
you look like my girl.

but you fell, even when a soft not-so-country singer begged,
begged you to stay in the sky.

the only falling i’ll ever do,
it’s for you.

i fell for you,
as fast as a stone,
a jewel thrown into the sea.

glittering along those most beautiful things in the world.

i fell for you,
like rain from the north.

relaxed, slow,
then all at once.

northern downpour sends love,
i’d sing sardonically.

but with love?
based on northern downpour (panic! at the disco)

How do I tell you this separation
Is gnawing through my heart?
I knew it would hurt, nothing could prepare
Me for the catastrophic pain of being apart.

I hate that we are divided now
Two halves that were once whole
Desperately trying to replace
The precious moments time stole.

I wear a mask to conceal the hurt
Plus longing I don't understand
Pretend my senses are alive and tingling
When all I see and taste is bland.

I comb old photographs searching for
The exact moment we started crumbling
Unanswered questions form an endless pit
I am falling into it, tumbling.

Unable to find the right direction
I wander my silent sorrowful abyss
Looking for a working compass
That will point me towards bliss.

Or a distraction powerful enough
To keep distance far from nagging thoughts
I am helpless while being pushed around
By fear contorting my stomach into knots.

An apocalyptic cloud
Of uncertainty, dismay, and doubt
Follows close behind my footsteps
Reminding me of what I have to live without.

Rain falls in steady splatters
I retain hope this internal war I can win
Even if the torrential downpour never lets up
I have no choice but carry on soaked to the skin.
I am quite fond of this one. I have been writing so much the past three months I have been off drugs. My mind is so much clearer!

In that moment I am gray as a the clouds until the sky falls down and there is gray all over me, all around and on the ground.

Do you ever feel such moments my friend?

When you feel like you are one with the clouds?
Just a question...based on the differences in perception. LOL

Let's drench ourselves in rain
Lord knows that's all we needed
To feel at home with each other
No more drowning in confusion
Time to let the world know us
To linger through storms
'Cause even when the sun rises
I promise
This rain will last forever
And all you have to know
Is that my hand in yours
As we dance in our downpour.

Thunderstorms are always beautiful!

This day is like the pouring rain, heavy falling and hard to swallow.
Dark as the memory of an old embrace,
Cold and mellow, like the cousin of a summer day.

Yet within this rain we are unchanged, just not the same.
I see the water as it cascades,
And floods the streets, to wipe the dogged dirt away.

It’s in my ears, it's on my mind, like a booming sigh.
The raindrops on the soggy ground.
Flooded I am washed away, but not far enough to leave this town.
Sometimes storms really creep up on you...

Butterflies drink from pools of blood collecting near my feet
Eyes wide open
Like a fish mouth gaping and gasping
The blood looks black in the moonlight
Sidewalk pavement hums with hesitant rain drops
Clouds block the moon above
The blood shimmers black
My hands are dry and so is my mouth
My teeth are chalk
There are things creeping in the lawn
They have seen the unseen
Maybe I'm one of them
The blood thins with rain water
Only my mouth is dry now
My hands drip with rain and parts of me
I am watered down, I am the blood, I am the rain
I run off the sidewalk and am swept down the street
The lawn and the unseen but a forgotten dream

Rain is one of my favorite things ...
The sound as it hits the ground
Or the smell as it fills the air

The rain is calming and quiet
Yet, fills the soul with every drop

It hear it from the basement window
I hear it from the back of the red car
I hear it from the couch in your living room

The rain soaks up our hearts in its downpour
& Later it drips slowly from our eyes and down our checks

Yet, rain is still my fondest memory of you

Me & you got stuck at the club,
But there's nothing to worry bud,
As we don't intend to go home,
In the torrential rain we can't either.

So come closer to embrace me,
Don't fear the thunderstorm dear,
Nothing to lose - memories to gain,
Just enjoy the tip-tip sound of rain.
A spontaneous poem that I wrote after I got inspired from a video call with my mate while it was raining and I was playing badminton inside the sports club building.
