Once he told me
"loving you is like breathing
how can i stop?"

and now hes holding his breath.
I cant watch you go and not do anything about it

She lies in bed at night
pondering life or death
the stars shine bright
as she takes her last breath
her mom walks in and cries
she thinks to herself
as her heart dies
then she looks on the shelf
there's a note it reads "MOM"

Piercing, sun through glass bubble.
I look beyond
Through fog and moss
Curling around my legs
Like vines,
Desperately.

Pull me back to earth of sand and dirt.

for 8 days i struck you down
deconstructed myself
it isnt over till
i toss that trinket into a river

you, my dear,
have been the first ive cursed
in a long long time

your effect
truly was a flame to the wind
this town will harbor you no sanctuary
as it never did

what you hold
is a false crescendo
you'll have to use your own breath
to fuel your own flame one day

As her final breaths escaped her,
she felt calmed by the epiphany
that peace would follow her.
Not right away, but it would come.
Sleepy Sunday afternoons,
and days spent without thought.
Her pain now was fleeting,
so corporeal in nature
as to be meaningless;
her mind was as white
as the snow in which she lay.

All was still. All was done.
And all was begun anew.

The first breath I take
becomes the very first choice I make

Dragon
——
I know a girl who breathes fire
She ***** it in
Holds it in her throat for a while
Then breathes out
The inferno lights up
Her cold, dark belly
I know a girl who breathes fire
Whips and tendrils
And sometimes coils
She’s burning up from the inside
But she keeps on breathing
Raggedy, patched throat
Inhaling white hot tongues of it
I know a girl who breathes fire
I pray she keeps on breathing
