I am alone now here at the bar
Beside me is a girl and a beer jar
I do not mind about the girl
Because my mind is now on swirl.

A shot of tequila and a lemon
Make a toast for being forever alone
Give me a another glass of ***
I am cold and I want to feel warm.

My heart and brain still feel the pain
Like I drank tons of liters of gin
Please make a drink for a heartbreak
And the bartender started to shake.

I tried all of these drinks and runaway
But still, I cannot drink you away
Give me another round of champagne
Just to forget and ease the pain.

I stole a bottle of beer from the fridge
I chugged about half the bottle
but I didn't like the taste
so I threw it out the window
and then I threw myself out as well
and I went to pick up the leaking bottle
and I drank it still, even though I didn't like the taste
and I fell asleep in the cold, and I think I cried
and tears made their way down my cheek and into my parted lips
and I didn't like the taste
but I continued crying, anyways
and in the morning my brother handed me some medicine
that he promised would make my head feel better
so I took it from him and swallowed
but I didn't like the taste
so I went and found another beer in the fridge
to down the medicine with
and even though I didn't like the taste
I got used to it.

Repent from your addiction,
So we can develop a relationship like clouds
Intertwined with the blue sky;
A relationship of which I can be proud.

Clouds float high above,
Formations of water that practically hug
The sky-ocean that hovers over this planet;
I wish we were like that, snug.

I have known little of you
Over these erratic years;
I have known little love
But many explosive fears.

Please, please, I know that you are weak,
And I know that you are tired;
But your small acts of love
Are so wholesomely desired.

I want more from you,
Want to give you much more;
It's a painful feeling that
Comes from deep in my core.
Echoes Of A Mind Dec 2015
The world is spinning
Please explain me this feeling
I feel like my heart ain't beating
instead something heavy is camping on it
and there's nothing which I can do about it

Is  this loneliness
I wonder
My beer dissapears
While I ponder

In my head
I know I got friends
But for some reason
I always feel alone

I feel like, I don't have anyone
Who understands and accepts me
For the strange creature I am
And always will be

Even at home
I feel alone
like I'm just sitting in my room
on my own.

And everytime I meet someone
Who seems to understand
Then he's always owned
By some other human.

Oh well
I 'll just stay here and dwell
On this feeling
Which makes me feel like hell.
[Sorry for the lenght of the poem.]
this poem was written as an experiment which includes me drinking alone (Oh yes I actually did that XD), therefore the first thought which came to me was loneliness since that is what people often think, when other people drink alone. Anyway the experiment went out of hand and I actually got drunk - therefore the poem might be a little confusing.

a man runs down the road
exercise brings comfort
but who needs comfort
when you have
beer
cigarettes
and a summer afternoon

It is late,
and the beer drips down my throat
                                                             goes to my head
meets the silence
tomorrow is too hard to think about
                                                                      but tonight
my youth dances with the alcohol
                                                           they aren't good dancers
but no one is watching
and tomorrow is late

Door closes,
I jump.
You speak,
I swallow a lump.

Can opens,
I cry.
You scream,
Inside I die.

As the price of life increases
so does the power of drugs.
There's a war on ****,
but beer runs free
and I think they've got it
kind of ******.
The saints live on the hills
and the sinners on the streets,
but there really is no god
who can judge.
You can buy someone's
body or sell your soul,
but you can't put a price
on something you love.

Paul Butters Nov 2015
This poem is by Norman Stevens in response to MY poem about HIM. Have made some minor changes.

In *****’s Bar on High,
Sheltered from Cleethorpes sea and sky,
Paul Butters utters words of cheer,
While quaffing his pint of *****’s beer.

He sets about his spicy meal,
Loading up for his evening’s sport,
When he’ll aim to be the real deal.

Owner Bill’s Angels prepare another stew,
To help down another “home –made” brew.

They nip outside for another “staff meeting”,
Paul says they’ve gone for a ***,
But THAT I’m not repeating.

Throughout these capers,
Norman reads his informative papers.

Sipping his Nectar Beer,
He’ll leave in good cheer.
